Abandoned by the Alpha, I Became the Lycan King's Mate-Chapter 410 Forest Backland
[Donald’s Perspective]
"The reason you hate Henry so much, beyond his committing so many evils, must also have to do with his previous exploitation of Angel, right?"
As if not expecting me to suddenly bring up another person, a pause flashed across Elliot’s face.
He quickly reined in his emotions and looked at me with clear eyes, explaining earnestly, "I know Angel has committed a serious crime and doesn’t deserve Your Majesty’s forgiveness. But she is still my sister, a friend and comrade who grew up with me since we were children!"
"It’s only natural that she has become what she is now and deserves her fate, but behind all this, can Henry truly remain invisible? In my view, he is the root of all evil, and he deserves death."
I didn’t oppose Elliot’s speech but gazed at him with a calm expression.
Seeing this, he took a sharp breath and continued, "Perhaps you are unaware, Your Highness, that the Lycan Queen previously used ’New Birth’ to save Angel’s life! I guess at that time, you wanted Angel to come to her senses and accept the punishment she deserved. Everyone should be responsible for their actions – Angel, Henry, and Austin alike, and all the traitors who dare to challenge the authority of the Wolf royal family, the same goes for them!"
Clearly agitated by the end of his speech, Elliot saw me remain composed and I let out a soft sigh after a long pause, saying, "I understand all that you’re saying; I never said Henry didn’t deserve to die."
Pausing, I raised my eyebrows and chuckled lightly, "Who said I didn’t know about the thing Margaret did? I knew it right away and wasn’t the least bit surprised. Do you know why?"
Not expecting an answer from anyone, I answered my own question, "Because that’s just the kind of exceptional person she is, filled with a sense of justice and at the same time extremely kind and innocent!"
On this point, Benjamin and Elliot deeply agreed, silently nodding their heads as the atmosphere in the cabin fell somewhat silent for a moment.
Sitting up straight, I looked out the window, frowning and commanding in a deep voice, "We’ve arrived at the ’Forbidden Area of Poison Snake Island’; everyone be on guard, the fight is about to begin!"
As my words landed, the helicopter steadied itself above the dense forest, and while waiting for the Lycans beside me to rappel down one by one, I surveyed the situation below with my eyes.
[Do you sense Margaret’s presence?] I asked Wolf.
Wolf seemed to let out a deep sigh, complaining, [Ever since we arrived at this damned place, not to mention the werewolf mind-link, even regular communication signals are gone! Truly a weird place where not even birds would defecate.]
Hearing this, I fell silent, not surprised at all. If the enemy could silently move Margaret from right under my watch and cut off mind-link communication, these are old tactics that Henry has used before!
I hadn’t noticed anything strange about this forest from the plane, but after setting foot on this land, I could sense its differences.
"Have everyone put on their gas masks; this miasma is poisonous," I commanded, hooking the mask from around my neck and again appreciating Benjamin’s attention to detail.
He’d mentioned before about the dense vegetation and abundant rainfall on Poison Snake Island, suggesting that poisonous miasma might fester in the woods, and had the person in charge of battle supplies prepare these in advance, even for Anthony’s troop, who had left early this morning.
The helicopter continued to hover overhead, with its military-grade infrared sensors scouring for other life forms in the forest as we conducted a meticulous sweep through the woods in a straight line.
Suddenly, my communicator on my waist vibrated violently, and my heart tightened, knowing that only Anthony or Christian could be calling via satellite phone now.
I smoothly extended the communicator’s signal receiving wire and replied in a deep voice, "This is Donald, speak!"
"Your Majesty! It’s Christian, I can hear the roar of your helicopter, I am in the basin 800 meters northwest of you, you can come directly with the helicopter, we need your help here!"
Christian’s report was clear and concise. After I acknowledged, I hung up the satellite phone and turned to Elliot and Charlie nearby, directing, "Objective is an 800-meter forest basin, move quickly!"
After speaking, I completed a swift transformation and, as the werewolf, led everyone as well as the overhead helicopter swiftly through the woods.
It didn’t take long before I arrived at the basin Christian had mentioned.
Once I saw the scene before me, I was so shocked that I froze in place, taking a moment before I moved my paws and sprinted towards him.
Christian was covered in fresh blood, standing in front of a massive black cave that looked like hell itself, his face full of icy chill, the gun in his hand still dripping blood. He stood motionless, confronting the ’enemies’ at the cave’s entrance, as if he had been in a standoff for a long time!
Arriving beside Christian, I transformed back into my human form and asked directly, "Have you seen Austin or the others? Levi said it was Austin who took Margaret from the hospital!"
"What’s going on here? Have all of Henry and Martha’s people retreated inside? What’s the meaning of leaving behind these disgusting monsters; do they intend for this horde of creatures to cover their retreat?" As I spoke to Christian, I stared coldly at the monsters before us.
