Chapter 390: 390 A step behind

[Margaret’s Perspective]

With Simo’s arm supporting me, I struggled to stand and looked at him coldly. My voice was hoarse as I said, "Who let you in? Get out!"

Seeing that everything in the room was normal, Levi froze in place and frowned as he said, "Don’t overstep your bounds! Understand your situation; you’re our captive!"

Upon hearing this, I took a deep breath and decided not to pursue the issue with Levi any further. I shifted my gaze to my right hand and realized that my condition was not good.

"It’s just due to losing too much blood, causing weakness. Don’t worry about it!" Simo interjected timely to explain and then helped me onto the wheelchair pushed over by Licia.

He let go of my hand and turned to Levi, "Let her go back to rest now. It’s time for her medicine."

As soon as Simo finished speaking, he signaled Licia with a dismissive gesture to leave, which looked entirely natural. Levi did not seem to suspect anything.

"Wait!"

Suddenly, Levi spoke up, which tensed everyone instantly. My face was pale, and there was a lot of cold sweat on my forehead.

He walked toward Simo and me but didn’t notice Licia, who had already neared the door. Licia paused, then slowly walked out.

It was undeniable that at that moment, Licia’s psychological resilience was very strong. She didn’t panic but instead left the room as naturally as possible.

Simo held his breath for several seconds until this moment, and then he resumed his normal breathing. I also sighed in relief, although my pale, composed face showed no emotion.

"What is it, Mr. Levi?" Simo asked with a smile.

Levi ignored him and stared at me, demanding, "I haven’t asked you yet. Where did you get those scissors from earlier?"

Upon hearing this, I looked up at him with a cold expression. "What? You want to interrogate me? It’s a pity I didn’t kill you. You’d better be careful when you talk to me in the future. I can’t guarantee I won’t lash out at you!"

Of course, I wouldn’t tell Levi the source of the scissors. If I just obediently listened to him, would I still be myself?

Moreover, I had already used the Medical Practitioner to accomplish many things. It wouldn’t be good to burden him further because of the scissors.

After speaking, I withdrew my icy gaze and said faintly to Simo, "Push me back."

Levi was almost infuriated by my words but didn’t say anything to stop me from leaving. His gaze remained fixed on me, deep in thought.

What I didn’t know was that in Levi’s eyes at that moment, I was just a poor creature with a bad temper and a stubborn nature, completely oblivious to my own predicament!

My face was extremely pale due to blood loss, and there were cold sweats all over my forehead, which was covered in adhesive bandages from the pain. My right hand and wrist were wrapped up like a ’bun’, and there was a faint smell of blood on my body as I huddled small and pitifully in the wheelchair.

Besides the stubbornness deep in my bones, unwilling to give in, I looked immensely sorrowful and fragile.

Levi was silent for 2 seconds, then he scoffed sarcastically and curled his lips as if he found me exceedingly absurd. On closer inspection, one could even detect a hint of helplessness deep in his eyes.

When I returned to the hospital room, Licia had already found an excuse to leave the hospital, and the recent mess in the room had been cleaned up.

I looked around the room and noticed that Levi had many items removed without saying a word, keeping a cold face, I lay down on the hospital bed with the help of Simo’s hand.

After swallowing the medication Simo had prepared in advance, I felt a bit of relief in my abdomen and thanked Simo with a glance.

"Install them in these two spots, quickly!"

Levi told the Werewolves who just entered, lazily pointing at the wall opposite the bed and the corner above the door.

I turned my head to see, noticing that the Werewolves had brought in cameras!

I scoffed coldly, thinking to myself: This bastard has really started monitoring me as if I were a true captive.

Seeing this, Simo looked at me somewhat anxiously, silent and apparently deep in thought.

Thinking about the information Simo and Licia had successfully passed on to me, Levi was a step slow in his actions. I sighed softly, leaning against the headrest and didn’t spare Levi another glance.

After all the events earlier, it was now 12 noon. After installing the cameras, Levi left, leaving me alone in the room.

I hadn’t slept the previous night and had lost blood from being injured, feeling extremely weary and weak, but I dared not close my eyes to sleep. I wondered when Donald would make his move.

Since they arrived at the island, nearly 10 hours had passed. Their main forces should have been ready by now, but it was strange that there had been no movement.

The room was too quiet. Despite my strong will, my physical strength was reaching its limits. As I thought about it, I drifted into an uncontrollable sleep.
