Chapter 391: 391 going to sea

[Donald’s perspective]

The midday sea breeze that brushed against my face was cool, yet it did nothing to ease the suppressed restlessness and frustration within my heart!

I glanced at the watch on my wrist, and my eyes grew a bit colder.

"The agreed time has come, Berton is late," Elliot said from behind me, his voice heavy with discontent. "This old guy isn’t pulling some shenanigans again, is he? We just did him a huge favor by rescuing his daughter, if he’s still hesitating and delaying, then it’s really becoming intentional."

Of course, I knew what Elliot was implying with his words. Eradicating the pirates was initially the duty of the Marine Supervision Bureau, and Berton’s constant shirking and stalling were utterly despicable and nauseating!

The assault team had already discreetly confirmed the pirates’ location at sea; all that was left was for Berton to bring over the naval main force, but that man had the audacity to be late.

My silence made everyone on the ship tense up. Christian looked at me with some concern and slowly gripped his firearm tighter.

Benjamin stood on the nearby deck, commanding the Lycans around him as they moved supplies. He was the first to notice the people coming up from the stairs and immediately reported, "Your Majesty, Dean Andrew and Miss Elizabeth have arrived."

At these words, I tore my gaze from the sea and turned to look at the newcomers.

"Your Majesty, we have arrived!"

"Brother-in-law, we’re here!"

The voices of Dean Andrew and Elizabeth rose at the same time. Hearing that title, the light in my eyes softened a bit, and I took a few steps towards them. "You’ve had a hard journey, come sit down and rest for a while."

As I spoke, I gestured for the three of them to take a seat and also nodded to Anthony, who hadn’t had the chance to speak yet. He seemed to have fully recovered, had a healthy glow, and stood respectfully beside Elizabeth, bowing slightly to me.

"Here is the summary of the combat medical supplies brought by the Holy Medical Pavilion this time, please have a look, Your Majesty," Andrew said as he handed me a booklet with both hands. His elderly face was etched with exhaustion, clearly having endured many sleepless nights before coming.

I took the booklet and looked at Andrew with grave sincerity. "I’ve always trusted your work, Dean. I’ll have Benjamin coordinate with you. The army’s rear guard is in your hands!"

"Thank you for your trust, Your Majesty. I, your servant, shall fulfill my duty without fail," Andrew solemnly assured me with a serious expression.

I nodded, then turned to Elizabeth but hesitated for a second before speaking. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"Why haven’t I seen Margaret? Where is she? It’s already late; she can’t still be sleeping, can she?" Elizabeth, seemingly oblivious to my change in demeanor, asked in a relaxed and cheerful tone.

Anthony glanced at me then slowly looked around at everyone else, as if sensing something, he respectfully asked, "Isn’t the Lycan Queen here? Where are we heading, Your Majesty?"

Elizabeth, sensitive to changes in Anthony’s mood, toned down her smile and looked at me with eyes full of inquiry.

Knowing I could no longer hide the truth, I took a shallow breath, lowered my gaze, and explained in a deep voice, "Margaret was abducted by the enemy last night, and we’re about to set out to rescue her!"

"What? Margaret was kidnapped? What happened?" Elizabeth’s reaction was the quickest, her direct questioning voice filled with concern.

Just then, my satellite phone suddenly rang. I glanced at it, and a dangerous light flickered in my wolfish eyes, "We’re pressed for time right now, I’ll explain the details of this situation to you later."

With that, I looked up at Anthony and after a moment’s thought, I cautioned, "You keep Elizabeth safe. Stay on the ship and don’t act rashly. I’ll inform you as soon as there’s news, and later, we might need your help with something!"

Upon hearing this, Anthony stood up respectfully, bowed his head to me, and pledged earnestly, "My life was given to me by you and the Lycan Queen, Your Majesty. Please don’t speak like that. Whatever I can do to help, just command me. Elizabeth is very safe with me, please be at ease for yourself and the Lycan Queen."

I appreciate and trust Anthony, so after hearing his reply, I nodded. I got up, patted his shoulder, and walked away.

As I descended the deck, I glanced at Benjamin and instructed in a calm voice, "Escort Dean Andrew safely to the ship at the rear. We’ll rendezvous on the outskirts of Poison Snake Island. Be quick!"

Naturally, Benjamin obeyed my royal command, bowed, and turned to walk away without another word, while Elliot and Christian stayed close at my heels.

I answered Berton’s incoming satellite call and spoke in an icy voice, "I thought Mr. Berton’s ship was stuck at sea, I was about to send someone to ’invite’ you."

"It’s my fault, Your Majesty! Assembling the navy does indeed take some time; I apologize for the delay! I’m not far from your fleet now; do you still need to come over and address the troops?" Berton’s voice came through the phone.

I narrowed my eyes, the intent to kill gleaming within them, "The navy is the main force in the blockade against the pirates. I’m not just going to address the soldiers; I’m also taking over your military command. Understand?"
