Chapter 325: 325 Divorce

[Margaret’s Perspective]

Elizabeth paused while speaking, her beautiful brows furrowing as if she encountered something extremely troubling.

I patiently listened to her speak. This dilemma did not trouble her for long; it seemed she had made a huge decision in that instant.

"I’ve made up my mind, I want to divorce Armstrong! The day Anthony collapsed in front of me, I felt like my heart was shattering. Yesterday at the Holy Medical Pavilion, I thought I was truly going to lose him, but luckily, with you and my brother-in-law there, we snatched him back from the hands of death!"

Elizabeth said with a laugh, her eyes filled with warmth and determination. She looked directly into my eyes, without any hesitation, and continued, "The moment I heard there was still hope for him, I felt like I was slowly coming back to life too! Margaret... no! Sister, the person I truly like has always been Anthony, and I only realized this yesterday."

I was not surprised at all by Elizabeth’s decision, on the contrary, I was glad she could make a choice so quickly. In matters of the heart, it’s not good for any of the three involved to keep dragging things out.

The longer time passes, the deeper the hurt and torment, and there’s no such thing as a personal resolution. This is true for Elizabeth, and for Anthony as well!

As for Armstrong, I can only hope that he can find someone more suitable in the future, as Elizabeth is not his destined mate.

"You only call me sister in times like these, I see right through you now."

Seeing that I didn’t respond directly to her initially but started joking around instead, Elizabeth slowly narrowed her eyes, looking somewhat ’dangerously’ at me.

"I’m talking about something serious here, Margaret, be serious," she reminded me. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

I nodded, my gaze playful as I looked at her, "Isn’t what I’m saying serious too? You’re no longer a child. Shouldn’t you be a bit more sensible now? Calling me sister is only right, didn’t you call Donald brother-in-law before?"

"You... you’ve changed, Margaret! You’re not the sweet and gentle Margaret you used to be," Elizabeth concluded.

The disgruntled expression on Elizabeth’s face brought me joy, and my smile grew wider. I reached out and touched her puffed-up cheek before cooing, "Alright, alright, I’ll stop teasing you. As long as you’re happy, I’ll support whatever decision you make. You don’t have to worry about anything else, I’m here for you."

Upon hearing my words, it took a few seconds for Elizabeth to slowly smile. Her eyes were reddened, looking both pitiable and adorable.

I think she didn’t fully understand the full meaning of my last words, but it doesn’t matter. As long as she knows I’m here, she can freely do whatever she wants, and that’s enough. She is my only sister, and I’m willing to create a sky of freedom for her, even if it brings much misunderstanding and criticism from others.

That evening, I had people prepare a lavish dinner in the Eastern Shine Palace, inviting only the Frantz couple and the still-recovering Armstrong, even Donald wasn’t present.

Armstrong’s reaction wasn’t as intense as Frantz’s and Nora’s to the direct issue I brought up; it seemed he even felt a sense of relief and resignation that this moment had finally arrived.

Frantz stood up from his chair, banging on the table and shouting at me, but I was unfazed, watching him with utter calm and detachment.

"This is a decision Elizabeth thought over for a long time and finally made. She hopes for your approval and understanding. Of course, now that I’m spearheading this, you don’t have any other choice, you have to agree, even if you don’t want to."

"Margaret! Do you know what you’re saying? Are you threatening me and your mother with your status as the Lycan Queen? What if we simply do not agree with this matter? Are you going to kill us?" Frantz was so infuriated he turned red, as if I were his enemy.

"Is what I’m saying hard to understand? Or are you so old that you can’t hear what others are saying? Even if I am using my position as the Lycan Queen to pressure you, what can you possibly do about it? Not to mention this matter hardly concerns you, even if you disagree to your last breath, who would really care? As long as I am here, you have to agree whether you like it or not, do you understand?"

I said and threw aside the napkin I was holding, indifferently shifting my gaze away from him, turning to the other party involved.

"The ones who have the most say in this matter are not you two elders, I hope you can recognize your place and attitude. This is Elizabeth and Armstrong’s own matter, they are adults capable of managing how they’ll spend the rest of their lives, don’t you think I’m right, Alpha?"

Although Frantz was initially upset by my remarks, the mention of Alpha Armstrong helped him somewhat calm his emotions.
