Chapter 324: 324 ’It depends on her luck

[Margaret’s Perspective]

"Are we heading to the Lilo Sea? When do we leave, Your Highness? Anthony is still lying in the lab. Are you and the Emperor really at ease leaving him behind?"

The tone of Benjamin’s voice shifted from excitement to concern, his eyes full of inquiry as he looked at me.

I didn’t quite understand what had excited Benjamin, so I asked curiously, "Why do you seem so thrilled? Is there something about the Lilo Sea that surprises you so much?"

At my words, Benjamin somewhat sheepishly touched the back of his head and replied, "I apologize, Your Highness. I did get a bit too excited. It’s just that when I think about the precious medicinal herbs that grow in the Lilo Sea, I can’t help but lose control. I’ve always wanted to go, but never found the right opportunity. This time it’s really quite coincidental."

With that explanation, it made sense, as Benjamin was indeed a medical enthusiast, and it was natural for him to be happy about a chance to visit the Lilo Sea.

I nodded in understanding, and started to walk away, continuing as I went, "We leave tomorrow night. You can arrange any unfinished work you have. As for Anthony’s situation, I’ll communicate and confirm with Dean Andrew again. Don’t worry."

Benjamin followed behind me as I spoke and had no objections to my plans. They all understood that, most of the time, my words represented Donald’s wishes.

As I reached the doorway of the sickroom, I slowed my pace and without turning back said to Benjamin, "Do you have any of that medicine you used on Anthony on hand now?"

Benjamin also stopped, his face puzzled but respectful as he answered, "We made three doses initially. After using one on Anthony, there are two left, all in the lab."

I stared at the patterns on the door of the sickroom, silent with a neutral expression for a long while. Just as Benjamin thought I hadn’t heard and was about to repeat himself, I spoke.

"Use one on her as well. Whether she lives or dies after this will be up to her own luck," I said.

After speaking, I left without bothering about the conflicted expression twisting on Benjamin’s face!

I knew exactly what I was doing. I was not some saintly white lotus, nor had I any intention of forgiving and sparing Angel. I simply felt that we couldn’t let this she-wolf die off so easily, despite it being a fate she brought upon herself.

Angel should be alive, or rather, in a clear state of mind, to face the final judgment of the Wolf royal family, not die silently in Benjamin’s lab. That would be especially unfair to those Lycans who died due to her betrayal. She deserved to be judged!

I didn’t explain to Benjamin why I had to do this; I trusted that with his loyalty and noble character, he would come to understand my reasons in time.

When Elizabeth and I left the lab, it was nearly 12:00 noon. Elizabeth didn’t question me about Angel, focusing most of her attention on Anthony.

"I’ve been talking to Anthony all this time, I don’t know if he heard me! Margaret, when will Anthony wake up? I’ve never seen him lie in bed this long. Also, Dean Andrew just visited and said Anthony’s condition is very stable, better than they anticipated. Does this mean Anthony is really alright?"

Elizabeth, pushed by Ruth, followed behind me, her chatter unceasing since we’d left the lab!

I was helpless, yet didn’t have the heart to interrupt her, so I simply smiled and remained silent. However, our young lady clearly didn’t understand the helplessness of others as she kept on chattering.

"Did you hear me speak, Margaret? Why aren’t you answering me?"

"Alright, dear, I know you’re delighted to see Anthony, but could you be quiet for a moment? You’ve been repeating the same thing three times now. Anthony’s condition is very stable and gradually improving, you don’t need to be so anxious," I finally spoke softly, unable to withstand the relentless interrogation of the young lady.

Elizabeth pouted, seemingly dissatisfied with my response, but she quieted down obediently.

I looked at her beautiful face, amused, and said, "You care about Anthony so much? What about Armstrong? His injuries weren’t light either. How are things between you now, still fighting often?"

Elizabeth first shook her head, then took a deep breath, and looked at me saying, "We haven’t been fighting anymore. He has been sleeping in the study when at the pack. Honestly, I was quite taken aback by how fiercely he protected me this time!" 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

"I always felt like he didn’t care about me, but after this incident, I..."
