Abandoned by the Alpha, I Became the Lycan King's Mate-Chapter 314 Surrender Trick
[Donald’s Perspective]
I chuckled softly upon hearing the words, and after a few seconds of silence, I finally spoke, "You are not in any position to negotiate terms with me. Either you release them now, or I will have to kill you and rescue them myself."
While I was negotiating with the individual, Margaret was surreptitiously assessing Elizabeth and Armstrong below the helicopter!
They were tightly bound together, their heads drooping lifelessly as if they had lost all signs of life. Yet, I still acutely heard their hearts beating, confirming they were indeed alive.
With this realization, I gave Margaret a reassuring glance to suggest that she keep calm.
Of course, Margaret and I were in perfect accord. She quickly controlled her breathing and calmly looked at the werewolf standing by the helicopter, surrounded by several of the Rebels.
"You few have no chance of escaping the Royal City smoothly. You’d better realize that," Margaret said, her gaze emitting a fierce light, "Surrender now. At least that way, Donald can be somewhat more lenient during your trial. You are completely surrounded, there’s no possibility of escape."
I suppose it’s because Margaret is always at my side, the way she speaks and handles matters is becoming quite similar to mine. She is increasingly displaying the presence of a Lycan Queen.
The opponent seemed to be intimidated by her commanding presence and, after a moment of stupor, they voluntarily dropped their weapons and obediently knelt on the ground, seemingly losing all will to resist.
I slightly furrowed my brow, sensing that this was uncharacteristic of the Rebels!
For someone as deranged and sadistic as Henry, could his subordinates have been so compliant, surrendering at just a few words?
I harbored such doubts, yet I had not immediately noticed David moving closer at that moment.
He grasped a highly lethal submachine gun, aimed it at the leader, and coldly commanded, "Kneel down, hands on your head!"
"No! No, don’t get too close to them!" I widened my eyes, loudly alerting all nearby Lycans.
With a loud ’bang,’ flames mixed with massive energy charged toward Margaret and me. I only had time to shield Margaret by my side; I couldn’t clearly see what the leader had done.
After the explosion subsided, I shook my head slightly, dizzy from the impact, and immediately looked toward where the explosion had occurred!
"Captain David? My God!"
"Someone help! Quickly, someone save our captain, his hands and legs... his arms and feet are torn off!"
"Quick! Somebody put out the fire, hurry and save him!"
Margaret then slowly sat up, her face pale as she looked at me, "What happened, Donald? How could there be an explosion all of a sudden? Are you okay? What about Elizabeth and Armstrong? I heard someone calling out David’s name; what happened to him?"
Looking over at David lying in a pool of blood, I struggled to find my voice to respond to Margaret and merely shook my head in response.
It took me several seconds before I could speak, soothingly patting Margaret’s hand before I hoarsely explained, "The enemy had explosives strapped to them and detonated themselves. I’m okay, Elizabeth and Armstrong were rescued by the Lycans, but David..."
I paused, then began walking toward the center of the flames, "Stay here, don’t move; I’m going to check on David."
Margaret, still somewhat dazed, unconsciously nodded, trusting me implicitly.
As I approached, the Lycans around David naturally dispersed. They looked at me, desperately calling out for help!
I knelt beside David, my brow furrowed deeply, and I ordered sternly, "Get Benjamin here quickly, his arms and legs can still be reattached! Hurry!"
"No...no need, Your Majesty, I’m done for!" David, supported by a Lycan, replied weakly after hearing my words.
Looking at David covered in blood, a profound gloom enveloped my face, "You’ll be fine, trust me."
David smiled upon hearing this, his mouth stained with dark red blood, his internal organs blasted to shreds, "I’m not afraid to die, Your Majesty. It’s just that I feel terribly guilty for not fulfilling the task you assigned me today! Anthony... I hid him in a safe place, he’s also still alive; you can tell the Queen!"
"I’m sorry, Your Majesty, I was too careless just now, I completely failed to see the enemy’s feigned surrender; they never planned to leave the Royal City alive," he coughed violently.
Unable to bear seeing David blame himself, I gently chuckled and softly said, "I know, none of this is your fault; you don’t have to feel guilty! You are one of my finest Lycans; I’ve always thought so."
As if receiving the highest of commendations, a joyful smile appeared on David’s face. His eyes slowly lost their color, yet stubbornly he still mouthed the oath unique to the Lycan soldiers, "I dedicate my life and soul to the Werewolf Royal Family and Your Majesty."
