Abandoned by the Alpha, I Became the Lycan King's Mate-Chapter 285: Crazy
[Margaret’s POV]
"According to our latest research on Angel’s body and blood, we found that her internal organs show varying degrees of failure, and her blood concentration is higher than that of an ordinary Lycan. Her mind seems to have remained at the stage when she was six years old,"
Benjamin took over the topic from Donald and began to report Angel’s recent condition to me with emphasis.
His expression was grave as he looked at me, seemingly sighing unconsciously, "The Lycans from the medical academy and I have determined that this is likely a severe side effect of that recovery potion. It can overdraw the potential power of the body’s organs for short-term injury recovery."
"The medicinal effect is naturally astonishing, but the side effects are equally terrifying! Your initial thoughts, Lycan Queen, were correct."
What Benjamin is suggesting here is that I had initially questioned whether this ’magic’ potion had any drawbacks for its users.
As it turns out, I was right. Angel went mad, which was a deserved outcome.
I let out a shallow breath and turned my full attention back to Donald, "The power behind Angel, ’MASTER,’ is indeed too twisted and terrifying. We cannot let him continue to act recklessly! We need to find a way to stop him, or capture him directly!"
"Otherwise, our lives will never be peaceful. Even the Lycans of the Royal Family can’t fully resist ’MASTER’s various seductions and temptations, let alone ordinary werewolf packs, whose situation is far more dangerous than ours."
Angel’s lesson has made me take ’MASTER’s threat more seriously. They are like some evil, rebellious religious force, seducing various people to their cause while using their sophisticated and ruthless pharmaceutical skills to create powerful war machines!
And the ultimate goal of all this is to satisfy their perilous and ugly desires! They regard the Werewolf Royal Family, led by Donald, as their greatest enemy.
I think a fierce battle of the century between us is inevitable.
Donald must be able to think more thoroughly and in detail about all these things that I have already considered. I am always willing to believe in my mate, for after all, he is the most impeccable Lycan in the whole world.
"You’re absolutely right, baby. This is also what I’ve been pondering these past few days," Donald said with a smile as he looked into my eyes.
He let out a light sigh and continued without much pause, "But this isn’t something that can be easily achieved by just talking about it. We need more information about ’MASTER,’ and time to plan more thoroughly. So, we can’t be hasty, we need to take it step by step." 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
"What’s the next step?" I took over Donald’s unfinished thought and asked.
Donald’s lips curved into a sly smile, and his expression turned cunning, "The next step, of course, is our wedding and your grand coronation ceremony as the Lycan Queen."
I was taken aback when Donald mentioned this, not expecting him to be thinking about such matters at this time.
But quickly, I caught on and my look towards Donald became inquisitive and probing, ’Already have a new plan?’
Without answering my probing gaze, Donald just smiled and started talking about something else, "Father and Mother should arrive at the Royal City in three days. Elizabeth and Armstrong have been delayed a few days due to issues with the Silver Moon Pack and will probably arrive at the Royal City later."
"In at most another week, you will be able to see your family in the Werewolf Palace, and our wedding will also officially take place then. You don’t need to do anything, just take good care of yourself, and perhaps look forward to our grand wedding ceremony."
Listening to Donald finish these two subjects, my eyes widened in astonishment. I looked at him in surprise, regaining my voice, "Are you serious? Are Father and Mother really on their way here? Why didn’t you tell me sooner? Did you arrange this, or was it the Empress Dowager?"
Seemingly dissatisfied with my questioning, Donald feigned a pinch on my cheek and retorted, "Would I lie to you about something so important? When have I ever lied to you? Regardless of who arranges these events, all you need to do is peacefully wait to be the bride, and I will give you my very best."
As Donald finished saying these words, my heart felt like it was filled with intoxicating syrup; I was utterly overwhelmed by sweetness!
Of course, I am looking forward to the wedding with Donald. Although the time we’ve known and loved each other is relatively short, we’ve been through so much together, the length of time doesn’t measure the depth of our feelings.
