Abandoned by the Alpha, I Became the Lycan King's Mate-Chapter 264: Special case helicopter
[Donald’s POV]
I looked across at Benjamin and responded in a deep voice.
"After returning to the Palace today, I will hand over full responsibility for this research to the researchers of the Lycan Medical School. You have experienced all that has happened here, so you should assist them from the sidelines. I hope you can come to a result sooner rather than later."
This was a plan I had devised earlier but never had the chance to inform Benjamin about. Now, it naturally came out in conversation.
Upon hearing my words, Benjamin nodded respectfully at me without refusal.
I gave him a look and after a moment, added, "Having you handle so many tasks at once is indeed asking too much of you. But with Elliot gravely injured and both Christian and Eric not by my side, I have to rely on you even more. You are the only one I truly trust to do these jobs for me."
Benjamin clearly did not fully understand what I meant by my last comment, but he did not say another word. Instead, he knelt down respectfully and saluted, saying, "I am willing to give my heart for the Wolf royal family and Your Majesty."
"Get up, there’s no need for such formalities," I said warmly, and then turned my attention back to Margaret.
In the time it took for me to rush towards the Royal City with Margaret in tow, the rear forces led by Louis and Mark, from the Lycan Army, had swiftly cleaned up the battlefield, taking prisoners and quickly catching up to us.
The ’clean up the battlefield’ command I had given them was not as simple as it sounded. It was an order to kill all the rogues that had not yet fled, sparing only the lesser leaders and Angel, who were still useful for further interrogation, leaving no survivors!
I wanted the masterminds behind these people to know that the dignity of me and the Wolf royal family must not be challenged; those who crossed the line had only one fate – death. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Louis notified me the moment they set out to chase after us. I only ordered them to keep a close watch on Angel and return to the Palace as quickly as possible.
After about half an hour of travel, we encountered the belatedly arriving Royal Palace Patrol Team. They had received my secret order early in the morning to come and support our Guard Team, but they only managed to arrive after our confrontation with MASTER was already over.
Of course, I knew it was no one’s fault for this sudden development - if anyone was to blame, it was MASTER for his unpredictability and dubious intentions!
Apart from the patrolling team who had made a futile trip, a helicopter from the armory arrived soon after.
I disregarded the surprised looks from everyone present and quickly boarded the helicopter with Margaret in my arms. After Elliot was also brought on board with assistance, we set off to return directly!
The Lycans from the patrol team I had just met were left behind by my command. I was worried that the escorting of Angel might face some unforeseen changes, so I left them for Louis and Mark to deploy as needed.
About two hours into the flight, Benjamin and I arrived at the Palace successfully.
When the familiar scenery came into view, my gaze fell on several Lycans in white lab coats not far off; they were the doctors from the Holy Medical Pavilion.
At this point, I couldn’t be concerned with the other patient on the plane, Elliot, and had to leave him entirely in Benjamin’s hands. Meanwhile, I only focused on carrying Margaret in my arms, hastening with every step towards the doctors of the Holy Medical Pavilion!
"She’s been shot in the right shoulder, the bullet is lodged inside and can’t be removed. Bleeding has been stopped, but she requires immediate surgical intervention!"
As I spoke, I placed Margaret on the emergency bed they had prepared in advance, my expression tense as I watched them, as if I was about to etch the command to save Margaret’s life onto their foreheads!
Once they saw the wound on Margaret’s shoulder, they instantly understood the urgency of the situation. While pushing the emergency bed towards the indoors, they began asking me for details about Margaret’s condition.
I followed them step by step, giving a detailed account of everything concerning Margaret.
After Margaret was successfully rushed into the operating room, a familiar and kind voice behind me called me back to some sense. "Don’t worry too much, Donald. They are the best doctors from the Holy Medical Pavilion. They will find a way to save this girl!"
Licia was standing behind me, perhaps she had been since the beginning, her worried eyes looking at me by the operating room door, her kind and gentle face full of motherly love.
Snapped back to reality by this voice, I turned to look at the beautiful Licia, my nerves, which had been taut for hours, suddenly relaxed quite a bit, "I... I’m sorry, Mother, I didn’t want to worry you. I’m just too scared of losing Margaret!"
