Chapter 259: Gift

[Margaret’s POV]

"During their time with the Silver Moon Pack, they participated in the operation to rescue the Lycan Queen and Luna Elizabeth, and Elliot and Eric were the main people in charge that day!"

"Eric reported after the battle that they disappeared near that cabin in the forest. I originally thought they had all fallen in battle, but now..."

As Louis spoke, he took a breath that was hard to believe, then continued in a hoarse voice, "I didn’t expect that they weren’t dead, just captured by the enemy and subjected to such inhuman torture! Your Majesty, the Queen, we must find a way to rescue them!"

Louis’s grievous words echoed in my ears as I coldly glanced at Angel across from me before shifting my gaze to their feet—to those pitiful, blood-soaked members of the personal guard force Lycans!

Beneath the grim sky, there was a silence as still as death! Donald and I didn’t speak immediately but watched Angel, who was smug and triumphant, brewing a storm of rage within us.

"Angel, what exactly do you want to do? You can’t defeat us, so you resort to such vile and despicable methods? They are Lycans of the Wolf royal family, true warriors capable of taking on ten at a time!"

"You were their comrade until not long ago, and now you treat them with such heartlessness? I can understand your hatred for me, but to do this to them as well... I absolutely cannot condone it!"

In an instant, I completed my transformation back into human form, and spoke fiercely to Angel. If I didn’t vent, I felt I might die from the anger her actions caused!

The rage that Donald was feeling at that moment must have been similar to mine. He transformed back into his human form, his eyes deep and icily cold as he looked at Angel, "Release them. I won’t say it a second time."

The majesty of the Lycan king was still utterly chilling in that moment. I stood next to Donald, trembling involuntarily, while Angel on the other side must have felt it even more deeply.

She laughed inexplicably first, then looked at Donald full of sarcasm.

"I told you, I’m here today to bring you a gift! As for whether the gift arrives dead or alive, that depends on your performance," she said, toying with the silver pistol in her hand, her eyes filled with defiance.

I was certain Angel had an ulterior motive. I reached for Donald’s hand, trying to calm him down.

Interrupted by my gesture, Donald seemed to slowly come back to reason. He gave a slight mocking smile to Angel, full of ridicule, "Do you really think you and your pathetic rogue entourage here can escape from me today? You won’t always be so lucky."

"MASTER sent you today for more than just to provoke me, right? What’s your purpose? Where is he?"

Angel seemed unfazed by Donald’s retort, instead pulling another severely injured Lycan towards her and continuing with a smile, "You’re so defiant. It seems you really don’t care about the lives of these Lycans, do you?"

"Then I’ll just kill them all. Their blood would make a lovely red carpet for your beloved Queen. What do you say, Donald, isn’t that a good idea?"

"What do you mean?"

"You are mad! Angel, you’re a lunatic!"

Donald and I spoke almost at the same time.

He asked in a somber tone what Angel meant while I outright cursed at her—this woman was a complete psychopath!

"These Lycans were supposed to be dead already. It was only out of kindness that I begged MASTER to spare these pitiful lives!"

"After all, to sacrifice their lives for a worthless Queen is sadness enough, and I think it’s not worth it for them. Dying outside the Werewolf Palace is far more valuable than dying for that wretch in the Silver Moon Pack, right, Leon?"

As Angel spoke, the gun in her hand was already pressed against the brow of the Lycan named Leon. Her gaze shifted from Donald to me, turning venomous in an instant.

I knew Angel was pressuring me, wanting to get something from me. I could very well pretend not to understand. I don’t know Leon, so why should I put myself in such a passive position for him?

As long as Donald is here, Angel wouldn’t be able to touch me at all!

But could I really turn a blind eye? These members of the personal guard force had fallen into danger for Elizabeth and me in the first place.

I couldn’t just do nothing, even though I fully understood Angel’s malicious intentions!

"What do you want to do, just say it," I said to Angel.

Donald seemed to have anticipated my concession. His large hand gripped mine tightly, and he continued in my stead, concluding with a bite at the end, "I don’t care what you want to do, but you’re destined not to leave here today. If you escape again, I might as well step down as the Lycan King and let MASTER have it!"
