Abandoned by the Alpha, I Became the Lycan King's Mate-Chapter 247: Heart Where?
[Margaret’s POV]
"Thank you, Louis, I’m glad you said that." I breathed out lightly, smiling at Louis.
The young Lycan looked at me, slightly embarrassed as he touched the back of his head, his expression sincere and adorable.
The atmosphere in the car relaxed considerably, Ruth prepared some tea and snacks, mentioning that I hadn’t eaten much earlier and now was a good time to fill my stomach.
minutes later, someone knocked on the RV’s door from the outside, and Ruth stepped forward to open it.
Looking at the silent Anthony, I nodded toward a chair, signaling him to sit down and talk, "Be careful on the way back, and remember to speak to Elizabeth first when you reach the pack, so she won’t worry about you incessantly."
Upon hearing my words, Anthony bowed his head and replied respectfully, "I understand, Lycan Queen, I will be careful. And... thank you for your words this morning!"
"I know His Majesty values talent and wants to elevate me, but my heart is not in the Palace, I only want to return and care for Elizabeth. I can’t respond to His Majesty’s appreciation of talent. I am truly grateful to you for helping me out, thank you very much!"
After listening to Anthony’s words, I just smiled softly, not feeling that I had done anything remarkable, as letting Anthony return was also a personal wish of mine.
"Alright, no need for so many thanks. We are friends, after all, there’s no need for such formality and distance. I did it for Elizabeth’s sake, you should be well aware of that," I said with another sigh, thinking of my dear sister; it seemed like my worries for her were never-ending.
As I spoke, something came to mind, and I looked at Anthony to continue, "Right, I also owe you thanks for standing up for me at the banquet. You and Benjamin seem to have a good understanding of each other."
"You are the Lycan King’s Queen, it’s our duty as subjects to act as such. Or as you just said, because we are friends, friends should help and support each other!"
Anthony’s words were well spoken, I nodded and smiled, "If only you were Elizabeth’s mate, I think you are far better than Armstrong."
I was not joking about that; I truly thought Anthony was more suitable for Elizabeth than Armstrong, as Anthony is a man who knows how to love.
After exchanging a few more words with Anthony, the Guard Team Lycans started getting back into their cars, and Donald approached from not too far away, Austin tagging along obediently behind him.
I waved my hand at Anthony, bidding him goodbye.
Anthony climbed into the car with remarkable ease, nodded to the people outside, and without a farewell, he drove off.
Mark and Benjamin were a bit melancholy, commenting that Anthony was too honest; going to the Palace is something many werewolves would beg for, and yet he didn’t care for it.
"Everyone has their own aspirations. His heart is with Silver Moon Pack; you can’t keep someone against their will." I chuckled lightly, watching Anthony’s car drive away.
"And what about yours?"
Upon hearing the familiar and pleasant voice behind me, I arched my eyebrows and turned to look.
Donald was standing there with a teasing look in his eyes and a lower tone, continuing to ask, "Where is your heart?"
Benjamin turned his head with some tact, pretending not to have witnessed the scene unfolding before him, while Lycan Mark seemed to have a much lower EQ.
He stared at the joking Lycan King, as if his worldview was a bit shaken!
I could not miss such a gaze; I coughed lightly, my ears reddening slightly, but there was a stubborn refusal on my face to be flustered, "My heart, naturally, lies with my pack; I love my home."
Upon my response, Donald’s gaze darkened a bit, murmuring a low ’really?’, then he grabbed my hand tightly, ignoring the stares of the others around us, wrapped his arm around my waist, and led me straight onto the RV!
As we walked, he didn’t forget to issue his command, "Everyone get on board; let’s go."
In my peripheral vision, I saw Austin’s displeased face. Donald didn’t look at him again after getting on the car, and I keenly sensed something odd but didn’t ask Donald directly in front of so many people. If it was something that could be discussed, Donald definitely wouldn’t hide it from me.
Our convoy stayed at the Windstorm Pack for just over an hour, and some unpleasant incidents happened because of a Lillian.
Of course, I had no time to care about their sibling embarrassment or discomfort; a certain Lycan King, quite particular about certain matters, was pressing on my lips, administering his ’severe interrogation’!
"Mm! Donald..."
"Where is your heart? If I’m not satisfied with your answer, I’ll keep kissing you!"
"You’re so childish!" I said, somewhat exasperated.
