A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods-Chapter 405: Relaxation Day

BOOM! BOOM!

Explosions after explosions, it gets harder and harder to sleep with the noises being so near. Even Elaina who can easily sleep through loud noises couldn’t properly sleep with the explosions happening. She felt like tensing every single time an explosion seems to occur not too far from the farm and would often check the surroundings outside if something happened.

The little routine continued throughout the night and soon enough, morning came and Elaina barely slept.

"F*cking hell..." Elaina couldn’t help but curse as she stood up from her bed and rub her eyes a few times. As much as she wanted to sleep, the explosions just keeps her awake and her fear that it would cause damage to her farm keeps her from sleeping deeply and resting her weary body.

As a result, she felt more drained than usual and decided that she has to skip the work entirely. For the first time in many years she was a farmer, she decided that she would take a break for once just now.

"Mother? Are you alright? You seemed tired?" Raye is the first to notice Elaina lying on the sofa.

"Don’t mind me, Raye. I am just not able to properly sleep with all these explosions happening. I don’t even get to properly rest since I thought those explosions happen on our farm."

Elaina then noticed that the others have not gone down like they used to. Arthur especially who was an early riser.

"Where are the others? Are they still asleep?" Elaina asked.

Raye scratches his head. "Well, I don’t know about Layla and Adelaide but Arthur sure is still asleep. Said that he couldn’t sleep earlier so he is trying to sleep a bit more. Should I wake them up?"

Elaina shook her head. "Don’t disturb them then. Let them sleep this time around. Considering the loud noises occurring, I don’t think they would be able to sleep properly without jolting themselves awake. How about you, Raye? It seems you are fine?"

Raye bashfully grinned. "Haha, well, I didn’t even notice those loud noises when I fell asleep. I just noticed them when I woke up not too long ago. You can say I slept like a log?"

"Ah, good for you Raye. Anyways, breakfast is already on the table. Just go and eat if you are already hungry. I already ate in advanced. Staying awake the whole night makes me hungry."

"Then rest more, Mother. Are you going to skip work today?" Raye further asked.

"Not really. I will still go and work but I will extend my sleep for a bit. Now that the explosions seems to be lesser in the morning, maybe I can go and sleep for a bit to recover my strength."

"Then I won’t disturb you much, Mom. Have a good sleep."

Elaina smiled and returned to focusing on sleeping. She is so tired from staying awake all night that she is ready to droop and sleep. While her mind wanders for a bit, she wonders when will Julia come home. She hasn’t sent any letters so far and to Elaina, she is worried over her adoptive sister. She might not be her real sister, but for her, Julia is the sister that she was supposed to have instead of the one who is currently waging war for a stupid reason right now.

Her mind continues to wander for a bit until she didn’t realize that she have fallen asleep at long last.

"YOU! YOU ARE THE MAIN REASON WHY I AM NOT HAPPY WITH MY LIFE RIGHT NOW!"

Elaina opens her eyes and she was greeted with a scene of her currently crossing swords with someone. She hasn’t realized it just yet but as soon as she slowly realize everything, the person she was crossing swords with is none other than Selena herself.

"Selena..."

"For me to become happy once again...I will have to get rid of you, your sons and daughters and whoever who are connected to you! I will get rid of everyone who blocks my way, even if they are even Grandma or Grandpa or evenif they are a god. I will kill you all!"

Elaina parries her sword. Her weapon might handling is sluggish and amateurish at best, but her strength for some reason is a bit strong than she expected.

"You needed to stop Sister. This is not you! Don’t let the church manipulate your emotions and fuel your anger! All of this are just false!"

Selena chuckled. "False?! Hahaha, did you really think I would let myself get brainwashed like this? You are mistaken, Sis. This is my real emotions and I am the one who asked the church to assist me! Now, time to die!"

Before Elaina can respond, Selena’s sword came down to her.

And everything went black.

"GASP!"

Elaina gasped for air as she opens her eyes. She looked around for a bit and realized what happened. She was confused on what is happening but then realized what just happened.

"It...it was all just a dream," Elaina muttered to herself as she held her temple and rub it for a bit.

That dream earlier was so vivid and real that she thought Selena has struck her down like that. She wouldn’t call it unrealistic but considering how amateur Selena was handling her weapon, it was close to impossible for her to actually best her in battle...and yet...

"What an ominous dream...and it even includes my sister..." Elaina couldn’t help but grit her teeth.

She opens her almanac and check the time.

"Well, it seems I managed to sleep quite well for me to sleep for at least 4 hours," Elaina muttered to herself.

It’s almost lunchtime when she woke up. Although her body is refreshed and her fatigue has disappeared so far, it was replaced by the annoyance of the dream just now.

"I am not liking that dream’s ending, but I needed to be careful just in case."

Considering that the current war is happening is being waged by her sister, there is no doubt that there’s a huge chance things similar in her dreams is about to happen. But Elaina will have to ensure things will remain fine. She will not let that dream come true. That dream should only remain as a bad dream.
