A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods-Chapter 403: Work During War [IV]
Chapter 403: Work During War [IV]
Iron Golems, as the name implies, are all made of iron. They are the same as regular golems, but their whole body is twice the durability of a regular golem. However, Elaina didn’t really care whether they were twice as complicated as a regular golem. They were basically just a walking target, and it was nothing but a big blunder for her.
Jumping from the ground, she quickly made a drawing strike on her sword from the scabbard, rapidly slicing through the golems in her way.
SWISH SWISH SWISH!
Although she did slice them, it only chipped a few of the body parts and did not completely cut them up.
"They are harder indeed...but..."
That first strike that Elaina did was just a way to gauge how strong and durable they were. The strength of her first strike is enough to completely break regular golems. Seeing the golem survive the attack, Elaina has a clear grasp of the power of the golems before her.
The Iron Golems didn’t like what she did and used their large feet to stomp on Elaina. But compared to Elaina who is much faster than them, the Iron Golems are much slower to the point that even if Elaina decided to just do it casually, she can still run away unscathed. However, she didn’t do that and used her momentum to use the other golem as a stepping stone to eject herself towards the first Iron Golem.
As soon as she is around the chest area, Elaina puts her sword back into the scabbard and with a swift pull, she cuts through the golem like her sword was a hot knife searing through butter. And with that attack she did, the core that powers the first Iron Golem was included in the damaged parts, rendering the golem from moving again. The moment the core was broken, the Iron Golem collapsed by itself, ending up in its defeat.
With the death of the first golem, the second one is not much of a challenge anymore and Elaina finishes off the remaining one normally. Like the first one, after the core was broken, the Iron Golem collapsed and destroyed it for good...unless someone decided to replace its core and make it move again.
The golem body parts soon disappear like the regular monsters, leaving behind their drops. What was left behind were iron ingots. Lots of iron ingots. Although Elaina has no need for lots of Iron Ingots, she didn’t just leave it behind and took it with her. There’s no reason for her not to use it after all.
"Guess I was expecting more rewards from besting those guys but considering they are made of iron themselves, I think the reward does make a bit of sense... but it’s kind of disappointing..." Elaina muttered to herself as she put all the dropped iron ingots straight into her bag.
And so, Elaina heads straight to the dungeon boss, ready to kill it and move on to the next strata.

"So this is what a real slime hutch looks like?" Mier is currently appraising the current project that was just built by Yona who used magic to fully assemble the slime hutch that she was trying to make for her slimes. After the completion of the slime hutch, the kids naturally came over to inspect and marvel at the newly created building.
"Although I have not seen one personally, I followed the blueprint closely so it should work as one...I think..." Yona said, not so confident of the outcome product. Even though the current situation outside the farm sounded dangerous, they decided to ignore it and just continue with their work while at war.
"It’s quite big though. It is more akin to a small house, I must say," Adelaide commented.
Yona can also agree with Adelaide’s comment seeing as the current finished product ended up quite big. Yes, she needed a bigger slime hutch for her slimes, but the finished product ended up being TOO big for the number of slimes she had.
"Let’s get inside and familiarize all of the stuff that was built alongside the slime hutch that was specified to be added for the slime hutch interior to be made."
"Eh? Isn’t building the interior, something that you already know since you built it?" Adelaide frowned.
"Not really. The slime hutch is indeed being built by me, but the interior was only added as an additional component after the slime hutch received its solid skeletal structure of a building. As soon as that is available, I have to add a slime ball that is a product of the slime inside the slime hutch and close the place down for a few minutes before opening it to reveal the slime hutch interior."
Slime ball, a product produced by slimes every week. No one knows what they are but they are always being produced by a slime no matter what. It doesn’t appear to become a regular slime and remains an inanimate thing. Only one conclusion is left after knowing this much and everyone agrees that the slime balls are actually the waste of the slime. Although it sounded disgusting, considering that the slime balls are not smelly and don’t stain anything, it doesn’t end up being considered as a regular waste but as a product for various items considering it still retains the properties of a slime without actually killing a slime.
Yona used these slime balls for traps before back when she was living alone in the deep forest considering slime balls are quite good glues for sticking things quite well. However, what does a single slime ball capable of doing to create the interior of a slime hutch? She is curious on how it will turn out.
Opening the door slowly, Yona and the others peek inside the slime hutch. Yona expected nothing since she only dropped one single slime ball and what does a slime ball actually do? Nothing aside from being a sticky thing. However, that no expectation was shattered as soon as she saw the finished product.
"What the? This isn’t how I pictured a building that has been built with wood would look like! It looks like it was covered by some sort of substance!" Arthur couldn’t hold himself and entered the slime hutch himself and started caressing the new interior.
The interior that was supposed to be wooden became something that looked like it was the interior of a cave. It looks like the whole interior has been changed into some sort of rocky place, making the place more different than they thought.
"Wow, this thing is smooth yet it is quite hard! And this odd smell is lingering around the place!"
Hearing all the explanations from Arthur, the rest also entered to join him in examining the finished product.
"How could this be?" Yona couldn’t believe what she was seeing. Sure, she made it, but she was following a guide from a blueprint to actually make it and not because she invented it. If she did, she wouldn’t rely on blueprints to make her own slime hutch.
And of course, as soon as the door was opened, the slimes that were originally resting on their regular hiding spots seemed to have detected the new environment that seemed to be calling for them. Yona and the others quickly gave way from the slimes and observed how the group of slimes that were seemingly slow would move so fast as they enjoyed the slime hutch.
"Wow, they are actually enjoying the newly formed slime hutch," Raye said as he marveled at the slimes moving rapidly around the place, playing with the other slimes, seemingly ready to continue living there.
"It looks like it was an actual success, Miss Yona," Mier smiled at Yona seeing the successfully completed product.
"I guess so. I have never seen these slimes of mine be this happy. I only saw them happy whenever they eat something good and that isn’t even enough to compare to how happy they are right now."
Adelaide crossed her arms and tilted her head. "Perhaps because this slime hutch seems to "emulate" their original habitat which is why they seemed to be quite thrilled by it?"
"Emulate their original habitat?" Yona frowned.
"Yeah. Slimes live in dungeons and according to Mother, even those slimes that don’t live in dungeons cannot be found in forests or regular areas but in areas that are closed off, cold and damp like caves or thick swampy areas."
Yona quickly remembered when she tamed them when she spotted them in the nearby swamp not too far from her original spot in the deep forest. The place is quite similar indeed that one might think that Yona took inspiration from it if they didn’t know how the interior of the slime hutch was actually made.
So it was why the slimes are quite happy? Because they feel like they are back home again?
