A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods-Chapter 397: Cacao and Coffee

Cacao are natural fruit trees that grows sweet fruits that are good on their own. But their seeds are where they shine the best.

Also known as cocoa beans, the cacao seeds are the main ingredient in creating the sweet candies, desserts and various drinks that many know and love known as chocolate.

The only thing is that the process is a secret and only a few people have an idea about it. However, for someone like Elaina who has been doing countless of businesses back when she was still the empress already have the idea on how to create these ingredients and make them good for creating the highly sought out chocolate.

"Come to think of it, God of Farming, I didn’t seem to see any Cacao Tree saplings present in the Book? If this was a purchasable sapling, I would have already purchased this and plant one for myself," Elaina questioned the God of Farming about it.

"[Well, I forgot to tell you something that is related to crops that are not native to your area. I didn’t get to bring this up to you since most of them are all possible to be planted and they can be at least easy to acquire so most of the time, I always get to forget to bring it up. And since this matter didn’t came up for quite some time, I didn’t get to bring it up to you for so long.]"

"Wait, so there was still a feature of that book that is still not told to me yet? After all these years?" Elaina frowned.

"Yes. Coffee beans and the Cacao fits the bill so much. They grow in different areas and its not easy to find here in Darcero Kingdom except if you look for a supplier."

"[Indeed. Considering these plants don’t grow locally, they are considered "Not available for purchase" since you can’t just procure these plants out of nowhere without any way to grow them. Of course, I can just grant it to you but I don’t want to make it like you can just grab a plant that is supposed to be unavailable for you to be easily gained by purchasing it on the catalogue. After all, I designed it with the local market in mind.]"

"So that is why it is not available for purchase then?"

"[Indeed. However, that changes things when you get access to those said plants or if you gain a good connection to someone that will give access to those things, then everything will change.]"

"So you mean if I get a supplier or if I get a stabilized supply on my own, those things will be available in the catalogue?"

"[Pretty much. Though its more precise to say that the moment you get an access to that said exclusive plant, you will get that thing unlocked for purchase. With your access to the Cacao and Coffee beans right now, these two plants will now be available for purchase in the catalogue.]"

Hearing that, Elaina heads back inside the farmhouse and checks the catalogue options. Just like what the God of Farming said, the two new options are now ready to be purchased.

"Great! With this, we can create some good food and great artisan products with these stuff!"

The coffee seeds she have right now might grow into shrubs or small trees but it doesn’t matter as both of them will produce coffee. As for Cacao saplings, she has to find out whether the saplings sent are those trees that can be harvested all year round or those that are seasonal. Either way is fine for Elaina as long as she can harvest cacaos, then that is enough.

Considering Coffee grows all year round, Elaina is not afraid to plant the Coffee seeds to her farm. Of course, she will spare a few seeds to be planted in the dungeons farm as well considering the Dungeon Farm is much more protected from the elements of nature compared to her farm.

As for the saplings of Cacao, she spreads it around the new plot of land she purchased not too long ago where fruit trees will be grown. She made sure to plant them in a uniform way so that she will not be confused where the Cacaos will be during the harvest seasons.

Like always, Elaina made sure the saplings are all far apart but close enough to be considered to be next to each other once they grow to adult trees. She is that meticulous on small details. Then, once all saplings are already on their respectice places, Elaina poured their holes with the Harvest Goddess Fertilizer, maximizing their growth and their harvest frequency. It won’t take long for these saplings to become full blown trees in the future.

Elaina is quite happy with this unexpected harvest. Considering the importance of the two, this will be essential stuff that Elaina will be going to need in the upcoming war. Considering how long has the war been brewing in the backround, sooner or later, things will surely begin its danger soon which will then follow the resources drought that will be brought along by the war which is an inevitable outcome.

Coffee will become a scarce resource soon so obtaining a plant beforehand is already a good thing. And for chocolate, well, it will all depends on whether the supply for it will last or not. Of course, Elaina will plan to make her own chocolate as well, but until the tree bears fruit, all she have to do is wait.
