A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods-Chapter 394: Land Fang

A big tiger-like monster but with a color of brown and the lack of stripes makes it different than a regular tiger. Elaina couldn’t recognize it as this monster is something that she haven’t encountered before in the past when she was hunting around the forest. Seeing a new species running about in the forest made Elaina a bit worried about the new monsters popping out lately.

The Almanac also responded and the bestiary also appeared before Elaina but for the first time, Elaina was perplexed that the bestiary had a different display on the monster. This monster doesn’t have a name and is just labeled with a bunch of question marks.

Information: A monster that has been named. Candidate of the next forest ruler after the previous ruler abandoned its rule to the forest. Without the one ruling the respective seat, it is now seeking for validation to take over the throne. Anything that comes to its way will be attacked and killed in the process. Dangerous, bloodthirsty, but a monster with a mocking nature. Instead of killing its prey, it will play with them instead, prolonging the suffering of their victims and watching it suffer elates the monster greatly. Has two forms that allows it to grow bigger than its original size, increasing its hostility, brutality and its primal instinct to fight and kill.

This isn’t the first time that she have seen this kind of entry before with a ruler type monster. Shardu is also considered as Ruler Type beast and thanks to the Almanac, Elaina have learned that Shardu was previously the beast king that ruled the forest. However, it has already abandoned its former life and became Elaina’s farm guardian and pet, which in turn, leaving the forest ruler’s seat empty for quite some time. Now that the ruler is missing, the beasts has begun to reappear and it seems that this beast is the first to take initiative to become the one and only king of the forest.

The monster roared loudly with a smirk on its face. Elaina can tell that the beast is intelligent considering that it wasn’t like a mindless beast that would blindly attack any foe it will face. Maybe that it is a candidate to be a ruler due to its intelligence And considering how big it was, it should be an area boss. The size is even comparable to Shardu if Shardu awakens the power that it usually uses only when big threats come to the farm and Elaina have only seen Shardu use that once.

Shardu and the beast are currently in a staredown, seemingly speaking and gauging their power. As for Elaina, while the beast has yet to attack her, she observed the body of the monster for a bit. Based on some of the stuff around its body, it seemed that both Arthur and Raye have attacked it significantly as some of its body parts do have some wounds. But it wasn’t much of a wound and she can tell that those wounds that her kids both inflicted to the beast seems to have been healed in the process, probably during its gigantification.

Considering that it has signs of wound on its fur means it wasn’t that hard to attack the skin and wound the beast. Her sword would be enough but with Shardu on her side, it seems things are going to be a 2 vs 1 battle. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

Like what Elaina guessed, the two beasts are not just having a regular staredown, they are talking. Arthur is able to understand their words.

"No wonder I find your f*cking smell familiar, it was you, Beast King. It’s been so long," the beast grinned.

"Ah, I see now. You are called the Land Fang. You are the treacherous bastard who attacked me," Shardu remains stoic and has not shown any emotions.

"Haha, and here I thought you have died. And yet, it seems you are alive and well but was reduced as a house pet for some reason! AHAHAHAHAHA! That sounds pretty pathetic!"

"There’s no shame for being a house pet. I do less work than when I am a king in the forest and I can sleep for how many hours that I like and my owner takes care of me and gives me food whenever they hunt a lot, leaving me no need to hunt for food. I can just wait and I will get food. I feel more like a king as a house pet than a real beast king. And besides, I am indebted by my owner. Without her, I would have died."

"EXCUSES! HAVE YOU FORSAKEN YOUR RULE JUST TO STOP USING YOUR PRIMAL INSTINCTS TO KILL? HUMANS ARE NOTHING BUT PREY BY US! THEY ARE MEANT TO BE KILLED AND NOTHING ELSE! AND YET YOU ARE HERE BOWING DOWN TO BECOME A HOUSE PET FOR THEM!? PATHETIC FOR A FORMER BEAST KING!"

The one that is called Land Fang then turned to look at Elaina and had a mocking grin on its face.

"So you decided to bow down to a weak female human just because they are feeding you? Then watch me grind her bones and chew her flesh. By the time I am done with these humans around, I will deal with you and make sure to show the other candidates that you are still alive. We can skin you alive as a good way for entertainment!"

Hearing that, Shardu for the first time grinned. "You can go ahead and try. Let me see how for once if you can back your words for once. But don’t think that I will not be doing anything. I am ready to lay down my life to protect everyone."

"Aha, no need to thank me. I will be done in a jiffy. And before you know it, these people you seemed to cherish will all be ending inside my stomach soon."

Elaina can tell that something is about to happen when the beast looked at her and flashed a beastly grin. Seeing Shardu stand up and gearing to fight, Elaina is already aware that she is going to fight soon. However, she didn’t immediately assumed battle stance. After all, she can immediately enter battle stance in response. Quick and easy for her.

"Finally time to fight, eh? Alright Shardu. Just focus on making sure that the attacks of this guy will not reach the others. I will be fighting this guy in response for injuring my precious sons."

Shardu understood and nodded. As for Elaina, she quickly went to stand in between the Land Fang and the others.

"Let’s see how you work, beast."

The Land Fang roared in anger and immediately lunge at her in quick succession, swiping left and right his paws to bring Elaina down.

However, Elaina finds his attacks slow and boring. She thought the monster is that fast to fight but it ended up useless. His attacks keeps missing the marks and Elaina seems to just toy with him. She isn’t even taking it seriously.

The beast roars furiously, trying to beat her and yet Elaina remains firm and hard to bring down. Soon, the beast gave up with physical attacks and started shooting Elaina with his electric bolts pulsing through his body. He is aiming at Elaina with it but for some reason, every time his electricity tries to zap Elaina, something seems to break it but because it was just split second, the beast couldn’t see what happened. Did she just dodged but returned to her regular spot?

Elaina on the other hand did not dodge but just used her sword to deflect the attack. Although the electricity are quite formidable, one slide deflect is enough to remove the attacks completely, invalidating it in the end. And so, she continues moving and looking bored.

As a result, the beast angrily growled and shoot out a lot of its lightning bolts, trying to fry Elaina in one go and yet...

SWISH!

It disappeared in an instant and Elaina continues to approach the Land Fang. The Land Fang is flabbergasted by seeing this happen. He didn’t get to experience this kind of humiliating display ever.

"Are you done with your show?" Elaina asked, smiling as she looks at the beast.

The beast refuses to yield and so with Elaina being so near to him, he decided to slam his paws straight to Elaina, trying to flatten her, only for it to miss. The Land Fang was surprised.

Elaina didn’t dodge so how come it missed? Then, his eyes soon saw something land in the distance. A familiar paw.

"ROAR!"

Soon the Land Fang realized what happened. It all happened so quick that the Land Fang has yet to realize how it happened but seeing his left paw already severed, there is no doubt about it, this woman is dangerous.

No wonder the former beast king seems to be confident when he tried to say that he will attack his owner. His body language shows that he isn’t taunted and afraid in the process.

There is one thing that he needed to do. His instincts have been screaming this ever since she appeared, but he keeps on ignoring it, but now, that is not the case.

The Land Fang turned tail to run, but Elaina shook her head.

"Where are you going? We are not yet done!"

In a swift swing, the two hind legs of the land fang severed and the Land Fang fell to the ground, struggling.

"We aren’t done yet. Beast. Make sure to receive it in full."

For the first time in the Land Fang’s life, he is feeling the despair he was foreign into.
