A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods-Chapter 393: Semi-Endurance Battle

Arthur have already known Raye as a Devil Child, but he never once felt any fear or disgust against him. For him, he is just another kid. And its also thanks to the teachings he received from his mother about treating the other species other than humans with respect that he also appreciates that there are other races out there other than humans to exist. But the transformation that Raye have done right now is something that Arthur have not seen before.

His real identity is hidden and it was only known by the close people in their family as well as their great grandparents who accepts Raye as their other great grandson. Thanks to the ring that Raye keeps on wearing, anything that would associate him to being a Devil Race disappears, allowing him to live like a regular human. Seeing it now made Arthur awed at his form. Although he has horns, and wings that is clearly indicating he is from the Devil Race, it doesn’t look the same as the usual depictions he have read on the books. He looks magnificent instead.

The horns is not that big, but its blue color that glows looks cool. His wings doesn’t look like the same as those from the Devil race that he have seen before. Instead, his wings looked like it was the wings of a dragon. His hands is also enveloped in some sort of gauntlet-like claws that seemingly formed from his skin. It seems that it was his power.

"A Devil Child?! Damn it... I was not prepared for this!" the monster staggered for a bit after standing, realizing that the other kid that was throwing fireballs earlier was part of the Devil Race made the monster think twice of what it was doing.

"You are so eager to fight right? Then come! I will fight you head on!" Raye called out.

"That monster said that it was not prepared to face against you," Arthur said still huffing from the injuries he got.

"Wait, you can understand him Arthur?" Raye frowned.

"Huh? What do you mean? He was just speaking human language just now..."

Raye shook his head. "Perhaps the roars and growls, maybe, but any human language besides from us speaking? Not at all."

The monster might be hesitating but it did not back down. When it saw that the two are busy talking with each other, it decided to take advantage to it and lunge itself towards the two in an attempt to take them both down.

Raye and Arthur were quick and dodge from the attack. Raye easily did it since he wasn’t injured and thanks to his transformation, his movements became quite agile as well. On the other hand, Arthur is on a different situation, after dodging, he felt the pain from his injuries and struggles to get back up without the help of the sword to use as a cane to stand back up. His injuries is quite big. Not life threatening but this slows him significantly then added the weight of the sword, his movements further slowed down.

Thankfully for Arthur, the monster this time focused on Raye and the attention was shifted. But the words that Raye said earlier made him confused. If Raye can only hear growls and roars, why is he hearing words? He does understand the words of others quite fast and his sister called it as his ability but he didn’t know he could also translate monsters and beast language to human language. Adelaide did not say that his ability is something that works like that. So with him understanding the beast, makes him think twice on what his ability is all about.

Raye focuses his mana in his body before casting another fireball to the beast.

BANG!

Instead of his usual fireball, a big fireball appeared and explode upon contact with the beast. It was also quite fast that even the beast couldn’t react to it. Seeing it happen, Raye’s confidence skyrocket. With the explosion staggering the beast from moving, he jump towards the beast, grapples its neck and proceed to squeeze it.

"ROAR!"

The beast roared in pain and immediately hurled Raye off of its body. Raye quickly moved and allowed himself to escape from the counter. Since the attention of the beast were focused on Raye, it obviously forgot about Arthur who didn’t let this situation pass and with a swing, he smack the head of the beast hard in hopes that the blunt edge would make the beast faint though he knew that wasn’t possible.

"Now you’ve all done it...Now I AM REALLY MAD!"

The beast roared loudly and its size increased, the fur has gotten longer and electric sparks started to run around its body. The wound that Raye inflicted earlier on the guy disappeared like it didn’t exist. It was like the beast shed its skin and every injury incurred earlier were gone.

"Damn, and here I though I have done quite a big deal against it," Raye grit his teeth.

"Perhaps this is what they call "phase 2" in the books?" Arthur frowned.

"Aren’t we f*cked if that is the case?" Raye felt horrified.

They looked at the monster before them and involuntarily gulped when they have witnessed its towering body.

"We aren’t going to be able to outrun this guy. We have no choice but to fight."

"Arthur, get it easy, don’t force yourself to fight. Your wounds are really bad right now."

"I can’t disappoint Mother right now. With how I took her sword, she must be furious right now."

Although Raye wanted to disagree, Arthur is right. If they will run away, they will just get caught up, if they wanted to fight, then they might have a fighting chance.

"Alright. I didn’t tap into this power of mine just to not use it properly." Raye nodded and readies to fight.

Elaina and the girls are currently riding Zaza and Shardu who both are running in full speed towards the direction of the roar. They are quite deep into the forest and seeing the location that they were supposed to be and of the surrounding areas that has signs of attacks, it seems that the battle has already been dragged further. And they are now deep in their.

"We should hurry. Shardu, speed up a bit."

Shardu understood and quickly hastens its speed which is then followed by Zaza.

"Do you think the two are okay, Mom?" Adelaide asked.

"Depends on their tenacity. But I believe in both Arthur and Raye. Those two might be quite a troublemakers but they are not weak kids."

Layla is using the senses of the water to find the two on the forest and quickly tracked their specific locations.

"Mom! I already spotted them! Northwest from here!" Layla relayed.

"Heard that, Shardu?! Full speed ahead!"

Shardu nodded and with a yelp, they rush towards the location.

BANG! BOOM!

Explosions started to get louder in the forest that nearing in the vicinity allowed them to finally locate the two who are currently fighting to survive.

Raye is wounded and bleeding quite a lot while his transformation has been undone completely, reverting him from normal and Arthur is barely standing and is currently sitting on the ground with the sword on his hand as he closed his left eye as he felt a very sharp pain from it. He got unlucky so badly he almost died in the process.

As for the beast...it is still alive. It barely broke a sweat.

"Yes. Despair. I might have been caught off guard before because I thought you little buggers were nothing but regular humans but for the two of you to be unique and able to survive even in my transformed state, then that is something worth commending. But that all ends here. As much as you two are good enough to fight, I shall not permit the two of you to live!"

Arthur couldn’t move anymore and Raye had just recovered and so when the beast jumps towards the two kids, Arthur’s eyes were locked towards the incoming beast and he felt the whole scene slows down. Perhaps this is what most people who are already seeing their imminent demise felt seconds before danger.

Looks like he won’t be able to ask for forgiveness from her mother.

He was ready to accept his fate...when all of a sudden, a white beast jumped out of nowhere and tackles the beast, halting its previous attack.

"Shardu! Rip the guy if you can! Zaza protect the boys!"

Arthur looked up when he saw a big white figure appeared before them.

"Zaza?! W-what are you doing here?"

"Of course, to fetch your sorry ass, brother," Adelaide is clearly pissed but she didn’t scold Arthur too much.

Layla and Mier are also there as well. Then, she saw the figure of his mother who rushed towards the two.

"I am still fine, I am pained all over but I can still move, you should also be worried about Raye since he got injured a lot."

"Don’t worry, Arthur, I can regenerate my health just fine. It’s you who needed to rest, Arthur," Raye said who is now being healed by Layla.

"Good to know that you two are still alive. I will not scold you two for now, but I will be talking with you two later. Here, drink this potion son."

Elaina handed him a health potion that Elaina had with her on her bag that heals injuries quite a lot.

"Are you not mad, Mom?" Arthur asked.

"I am mad, but that can wait. Can you return my sword, Arthur?"

Arthur nodded and handed her the sword that he took from her.

"Mom...that monster is too strong... be careful."

Elaina nodded with a smile and headed to the battle with the monster and Shardu.

She didn’t rush or run. She just continued to walk while her sword that Arthur handed to her is now on her hip. Then, he felt something while watching the back of his Mother. All of the things that are being said about her mother might sounded like some exaggeration at first but now, that he is seeing Elaina in action, even if she is still casually walking, Arthur now believes in her. Her Mother was after all, the strongest.
