The Ring of Deceivers.

It is a ring that was given by the Harvest Goddess as her gift to Raye. And it wasn’t just any gift either, it is a gift that fully hides Raye’s real identity as a devil kid. One that she didn’t expect to see being in the possession of the Harvest Goddess to begin with.

"Thanks for the gift, Harvest Goddess...but why do you have this in the first place?" Elaina frowned.

"Heh, just so you know, before you came here, I have to go to the human market to sustain myself and unlike you people who got used to me as a resident Goddess of this farm, regular humans don’t think I was one at all and its not like I can just go ahead and float like my regular self there so if I wanted to go out and mingle with people back then, I wear this ring. What’s neat is that this ring can adjust to its wearer’s finger size. So it doesn’t matter if you have small or big fingers, the ring will accommodate and adjust itself. So if you put that to the baby, the ring kinda "grows" along with the baby, making it normal for him to keep the ring on without any problems."

"Why give it now? Won’t you need it again in the future?" Elaina asked.

The Harvest Goddess heads over to the chimney and grab a handful of ashes and show it to Elaina for a bit.

"Look closely."

As soon as she said that to Elaina, the ashes in her palm suddenly dances and floats in the air, circling and forming something. Soon, it forms into a ring and solidify completely and it didn’t take long for another Ring of Deceivers to appear in her hands again.

"I can make the ring anytime I wanted. Therefore, I can just give this ring to your baby and just make another one for myself. As long as I have materials, I can create one multiple times."

Everyone was shocked to just see the Harvest Goddess conjure something out of nowhere.

"As expected of a goddess, somehow, I didn’t think you are that great considering you just float around and be greedy...looks like I was proven wrong," Julia touched her chin and nodded like she understood something.

"I don’t know if I should be happy about that or feel insulted," the Harvest Goddess frowned but didn’t pursue the matter any longer.

"But aren’t you the Goddess of Harvests? Since gods specialized in something and you specialized in harvests of farms and various production lines, aren’t making something out of nowhere a bit out of place from you?" Princess Margaux scratches her head in confusion.

"Hey, just because I am the Harvest Goddess doesn’t mean I am useless to anywhere else!" the Harvest Goddess protested.

"Ah, perhaps this is what they call "side job" but for the gods," the witch guessed.

"Ugh, enough! Anyways, I just came in to deliver that ring. Considering the news that this kid is a Devil Baby and you want to make this kid live like a regular human, then use that ring. It can help fool everyone and it can also bypass anything that will try to look through his identity and the neat part is that the ring itself will not be visible to those who don’t know its existence. Which means the only people who will see that ring is himself and everyone in this room. Make sure to teach him about that properly, Elaina. Just because he is accepted doesn’t mean his real self will be accepted in the public."

Elaina nodded. "Thanks for this, Harvest Goddess. Don’t worry, I will hand you your favorite stuffs later."

The Harvest Goddess waves her hand as she float outside. "Don’t worry about it. I didn’t give that ring just because I am asking for some compensation or anything. Of course, if you insist, then who am I to refuse?"

After saying that, she leave the house and Elaina tried to put the ring on Raye’s finger. Just like what the Harvest Goddess said, the ring did adjust to the finger of Raye. It was on the size of the adult’s finger at first but as soon as Elaina insert the finger of Raye to the ring, the ring itself adjusted and reduced its size and fit perfectly on his finger. And just like what they expected, the moment the ring is now on the baby’s finger, the horns and his ears changed form. His horns disappear completely and his ears turned into just like a human ears.

"This is an amazing accessory indeed. If the Harvest Goddess said that this thing is a relic, then it would be something believable but when she show it to us that she personally made it, I was just going to say I didn’t expect it at all," Julia was amazed.

Raye looked around for a bit before yawning. Julia saw this and looked at Elaina.

"Sis, are the cribs of the twins still in your room?"

"Yeah. I still didn’t move them away as I haven’t gotten the time to move them to the storage room."

"Then we should let him take one of it as his own crib. It’s not like the twins sleep there anymore, yes?" Julia turned to look at the twins in which the two respond with a shake in their heads.

"Good idea. We should also use the baby clothes that Arthur once used. Thankfully, I still didn’t stow them away."

"Then I will take care of that. With the witch already here, shouldn’t we begin the ritual to do the actual stuff?"

The witch also nodded and agreed. "Indeed. The sooner we start the ritual, the sooner we will be finished and the weather will return to normal. Let’s get to my house as the place has a bigger area to perform the ritual instead of the farm house."

Elaina almost forgot about it until she was reminded about it. She grab the bag and nodded.

"Should I bring anything else?" Elaina asked.

"Nope. I have the necessary things we will need while you are carrying the materials right? Then we are all set and all we need to do is to begin. Still, I didn’t expect you to gather these materials in just a few minutes. I just gave the list to Julia and she told me she handed it to you already. Seeing it already gathered, I can only say that you did it so quickly I am flabbergasted by the speed!"

"Ahahaha..." Elaina had a dry laugh considering that she didn’t quickly gather the materials in any form...its just that time was slow in the real world while time continues to march as she continues to mine the materials. She just couldn’t say it.

Princess Margaux also tagged along while the twins stayed behind to join Julia at putting Raye to sleep. In short, only the three of them are currently going to perform the ritual.

"Usually this ritual is something that is very complicated to do but thanks to the modifications that my friend did back in the past, the ritual became easier to do. It has little complicated stuff here and there but not as complicated as the regular one which makes this great for us to do."

"But why did we need so much materials though? It wasn’t hard to gather all those materials but I was afraid I won’t find all of them in the first place."

"The Witch scratches her head. "Well, in truth, most of these are just spare resources in case we fail. Considering that I am not the original maker of this ritual, I wanted to have some guarantees to ensure that even if I fail, I still can fall back and use other resources in case we fail. And even if we don’t fail, we can just use these ores for our gain, aren’t these things expensive if sold?"

Elaina nodded in understanding. The Dwarf Chieftain is indeed correct in his assumption that the reason there were so many needed is just because they are just meant to be spares in case an error occurred. Elaina also don’t want to go back to the mines just to get more things if the ritual failed. So having gathered all the things in advanced, even if they fail, they can still continue.

The Witch opened the dimensional bag and took out the materials one by one.

"I still couldn’t get used to the fact that this bag is a dimensional storage bag. It just looked so out of place for me who literally have been so behind by the magical advancements."

"You better get used to it, considering that this is going to be a common occurrence," Elaina chuckled.

"Indeed. Alright, these should be enough for now, let’s keep the rest as spares for now."

Elaina put away the bag on the side as the Witch grabs a jar of something and started pouring the contents on the floor. The contents looked like a metallic liquid, but it didn’t look like liquid either, just seemingly in that form.

"What is that?" Elaina asked.

"That’s Mercury, Miss Elaina. Be careful to not touch it, it is poisonous and is only used for various purposes and making magic circles," Princess Margaux said.

The witch is focused on her task and continued to use the mercury to form the magic circle they needed. A few minutes later, a big magic circle is already present on the floor. Once that was done, the witch arrange the gemstones and the raw ores to the magic circle in some places.

"Alright, ready yourselves. We will begin the ritual. Depending on the results, we might see a normal result, or a violent one if it failed. Get ready!"
