A Hundred Times: Ascending With The Strongest System-Chapter 31 - 30: Raging Phoenix Guild
Chapter 31: Chapter 30: Raging Phoenix Guild
The miraculous towering buildings of Sunrow City came into view as the sun reflected off them, making their windows shine brilliantly, almost blinding. They drove for a while before finally reaching the Raging Phoenix Guild, a large building with a magnificent banner that proudly held their guild's signature symbol.
The agent stepped out of the limousine as they opened Zoey's door, and allowed Zoey and Sarina to step out. The sun almost blinded Zoey as it reflected off the large buildings and straight into her eyes, causing her to squint them.
"We're here, follow me." Sarina said as she glanced back at Zoey, with a small grin on her face as she walked forward.
Zoey stood there for a few seconds, breathing in the fresh city air as she closed her eyes for a brief moment, a huge sense of calm washing over her. Before a bystanders shout quickly caught her attention, much to her annoyance.
"Woah! Look it's Zoey Monroe!" A woman's voice rang out among a crowd of Hunters exiting the guild as they immediately turned their attention to where the woman was pointing, suprised gasps and murmurs breaking out.
'What the heck!? Am I some sort of celebrity now?' Zoey thought with a slightly annoyed expression, gritting her teeth in annoyance.
"Ignore them," The agent said as he walked forward, his tone professional and serious, to which Zoey nodded, walking behind him and quickly catching up to Sarina.
They walked through a massive hall that spoke of wealth, many Hunters of different shapes and sizes, classes, and ranks walked around, everyone busy with their own tasks.
'Woah...' Zoey thought with a suprised expression as she observed the place while following Sarina, finding it really impressive.
"Impressive isn't it?" Sarina asked with a smug smile as she glanced over her shoulder, finding Zoey's suprise endearing and cute.
"Yeah, it is. This place is massive, and so...fancy." She muttered as she continued to observe the place, while simultaneously ignoring the whispers and silent murmers of the suprised Hunters around her.
"Ms Sarina!" A voice called for her attention as an agent walked up to her, "The guild master is requesting for you and Zoey's presence." She informed them, suprising Zoey slightly as she didn't expect to meet the guild master so soon.
The agent stared at Zoey with intriguing eyes as she studied her for a moment, hearing about her accomplishments and A+Ranked Talent, something she didn't expect from the "Mana-less" girl everybody shunned on.
"Come, let's go." Sarina said to Zoey as she started to walk towards the guild master's office, with Zoeh walking closely behind, and the agent walking beside her.
They walked towards an elevator, before entering it and taking a lift up to the top floor. The agent walked up towards the guild master's office before gently knocking on it, announcing her presence, "Guild Master Leo, I've brought them to you." The agent said, before a voice answered from beyond the door.

"Come in."
The agent pushed the door open as the grand inside of the guild masters office came into a view. A man with a tough body sat a dark oak desk, his hair was long and red, like the flames of wildfire, his eyes resembled that of Zoey's, but far less crimson and intense than what she had going for her.
In the room standing by the side of Guild Master Leo, stood a woman with silver hair and golden eyes, her expression serious and her stance tall and commanding as she acted as the Guild Master's assistant, her presence emitting a strong aura of power as her eyes bore into Zoey's with an intensity that caused her skin to crawl.
'What's up with her?' Zoey questioned internally, a bad feeling crawling up her spine.
"Sarina, Zoey Monroe, I've been waiting for you." Guild Master Leo spoke as he rose from his chair, and walked towards them, however, Zoey could notice the intensity behind his gaze, it screamed displeasure and hostility, something Zoey could easily pick up from people.
'So this is the girl that has an A+Rank Talent, huh? Zoey Monroe, the "Mana-less" girl. Interesting how quickly she's advancing, her conditions were very strange and demanding to say the least, just what are you trying to hide?'
Leo thought as he continued to stare her down, before chuckling lightly to break the tension. Zoey's guard was up as she activated [Heightened Senses] just in case they might try anything, her instincts just screamed for her to, as she couldn't trust these guys yet.
"My name is Leo Blaze, Guild Master of the Raging Phoenix Guild, pleasure to meet you and welcome you into our Elite Rankings, Zoey Monroe." The guild master said as he extended his hand for a handshake, Zoey stared at it for a few seconds, before reluctantly shaking his hand.
"I've heard of your achievements, conquering an F-Rank dungeon upon Awakening, and possessing an A+Rank Talent, which speaks bounds of your potential." Leo continued, as he gestured for a couch for them to sit, "Please have a seat,"
Zoey nodded as she sat down on the couch, with Sarina sitting down next to her. The agent standing beside them as the guild master took a seat across them.
"Before I bestow your rewards to you, I would like the pleasure of testing your abilities and seeing your strength for myself, before deciding on your ranking within our Elite Rankings. Are you okay with that?" Leo spoke with gleaming eyes.
"You would like to test me?" Zoey asked with a raised brow, a bit intrigued by Leo's prospect.
Sarina nodded as she turned to face Zoey, "It's nothing serious, we're just going to let you face off against a C-Rank Hunter in a sparring match to evaluate your combat abilities, how well you do against him will determine your position in the Elite Rankings." Sarina said.
'A C-Rank Hunter....' Zoey thought, curious. She had never battled another Hunter before, especially one that was supposedly higher ranked than her, however she was also curious to see how well she'd do against them, especially with her level 100 [Fireball] Skill.
"Alright, I'll do it." Zoey said with a determined expression as Leo's eyes gleamed with a predatory light.
"Excellent."
