A Heaven-sent Sweet Child Falls Asking for Hugs-Chapter 51: The Ex-girlfriend Becomes an Auntie
Vivian Quincy had intended to explain, but she suddenly laughed when she heard Wanda Quincy’s words. Fire her? ’Isn’t this perfect!’ She had been dreaming of leaving Imperium Group. If Jasper Ford hadn’t been holding that contract over her head, she would have bolted long ago!
For someone to be willing to help her out now was just too good to be true!
"That’s right, President. I did it all on purpose. Fire me!" Vivian Quincy said defiantly, deciding to just admit to it.
Jasper Ford snapped impatiently, "Have you said enough?"
"Not yet. Fire me," Vivian Quincy said, her face full of anticipation. Her beautiful, wide eyes sparkled, showing not a shred of sadness at the prospect of losing her job. ’Is she even a little smug?’
’Was this woman really so eager to leave him?’
The more Jasper Ford thought about it, the more annoyed he became. He couldn’t even be bothered with Wanda Quincy and said with a cold expression, "Drive."
There was no doubt he was speaking to Vivian Quincy!
Wanda Quincy froze, her lips parting as she asked in astonishment, "Jasper? You’re not going to help me?"
"I have things to attend to. If you’re not feeling well, go to the hospital yourself." As Jasper Ford spoke, he never once glanced at Wanda Quincy. He opened the car door, got in, and urged Vivian Quincy to drive.
Vivian Quincy nodded quickly, turning to Wanda Quincy. "Please step aside. It would be a shame if I ran you over; I don’t have the money to pay your compensation."
Wanda Quincy’s face was pale. Though furious, she didn’t dare block the car for fear of angering Jasper Ford. But she was unwilling to let Vivian Quincy leave just like that. She could only swallow her rage, watching helplessly as Vivian Quincy drove away.
’That little bitch! What on earth did she do to Jasper? Why is he so lenient with her!’ Unable to figure it out, Wanda Quincy clenched her fists in anger. The frustration she had endured from Madam Ford that morning, combined with being ignored now, threw her into a frenzy of jealousy. And yet, there was nothing she could do!
That Vivian Quincy was really something else. She’d only been back in Crestfall for a short time and had already forced her into a corner like this.
’I absolutely cannot let Vivian Quincy continue acting so brazenly.’
Wanda Quincy dialed Hayden Kaye’s number and arranged to meet him.
「At a café.」
Hayden Kaye leaned lazily in his chair, swirling a glass of red wine. When he saw Wanda Quincy, a trace of disdain crossed his handsome face. "What do you want from me?" he asked, his voice clearly tinged with hostility.
Wanda Quincy had people investigate Hayden Kaye, so she knew he had seen Vivian Quincy today. "I want to make a deal with you," she said.
"What deal? You think I’d make a deal with someone like you?" Hayden Kaye scoffed. He hated Wanda Quincy more than anyone. He was convinced that she had something to do with Vivian’s departure all those years ago, even if he couldn’t prove it.
They had been enemies for a long time. If Wanda Quincy hadn’t mentioned Vivian Quincy’s name, Hayden Kaye wouldn’t have come at all.
Wanda Quincy didn’t beat around the bush and got straight to the point. "I’m here to help you get back together with Vivian."
"You think I’d believe you?" Hayden Kaye sneered.
Wanda Quincy took a deep breath and said very seriously, "You have to believe me."
"Why should I?" Hayden Kaye retorted.
Wanda Quincy said, "Because I’m the only one who can help you win Vivian Quincy back. You’ve come to Imperium Group so many times recently, and almost every time you were stopped by your Ninth Uncle. Do you know why? It’s not because he wanted to stop you, but because Vivian Quincy doesn’t want to see you."
After a pause, Wanda Quincy continued, "Vivian Quincy is just a gold-digger. A few years ago, she got together with President King for money. Now, working at Imperium Group, Jasper is so exceptional. Given her ambitious nature, do you think she’d be content just being a secretary?"
"Someone willing to sell her body for money would do even more unconscionable, shameless things for it. She’ll probably try to seduce Jasper and climb into his bed. When that happens, will you call her Vivian, or will you call her ’Aunt’?"
No one could accept their former lover getting involved with their own uncle.
Especially not Hayden Kaye, who had waited for Vivian Quincy for six whole years!
’There was no way he would let Vivian Quincy get away from him!’
Wanda Quincy’s words struck a nerve. He furrowed his brow and said, "Vivian isn’t that kind of person."
"Who knows? At least she was six years ago. She even gave birth to a bastard." Wanda Quincy played with her coffee spoon, a faint, mocking smile on her face. She stirred the coffee, sending ripples across the surface. The murky, dark liquid revealed nothing of its depths. In her eyes, Vivian Quincy was just as filthy as that coffee.
Hayden Kaye was lost in thought. His already fragile confidence in Vivian began to waver under Wanda’s pointed questions.
The last time they met, Vivian had told him to his face that she’d fallen for Jasper Ford.
Hayden knew it couldn’t be true, but then again, he felt Wanda had a point. Something similar had happened six years ago. Back then, he hadn’t been able to stop it and lost her. Now that she was finally back, Hayden Kaye would never give her the chance to leave him again!
Hayden Kaye put down his wine glass. "How do you propose we work together?"
"First, find that bastard child Vivian Quincy gave birth to and give him to me." Afraid of arousing his suspicion, Wanda Quincy continued, "He’s President King’s son. With Jeremy King’s personality, do you think he’d let his mistress take his son and marry someone else? Besides, the Kaye Family is a prestigious family in Crestfall. Your parents wouldn’t want you marrying some second-hand goods who’s already had a child, right?"
"You’d better speak more respectfully. Even if Vivian has had a child, she’s a thousand times, a million times better than you," Hayden Kaye shot back, disgusted by her tone.
Wanda Quincy raised her hands in surrender. "Fine, I misspoke. I just want to tell you that as long as Beanie Quincy is with Vivian, you’ll never be able to be with her. If you want things to work out between you two, you have to deal with Beanie Quincy. I happen to have a working relationship with President King. I think if you find the child and hand him over to me, I can negotiate with President King. I’m sure he’ll gladly let Vivian go and take Beanie Quincy back to be raised by the King Family."
"Without the child, you can truly be with Vivian Quincy. Isn’t that a good thing?"
The vivid description tempted Hayden. This had indeed been his initial plan. But upon hearing the name "Beanie Quincy," his handsome expression subtly shifted, and his voice turned icy in an instant. "You said... Vivian’s son is named Beanie Quincy?"
"Yes. Hasn’t she told you?" Wanda Quincy was surprised. If she remembered correctly, Hayden was supposed to have seen Vivian many times, and their relationship used to be very good. Vivian must have introduced Beanie to Hayden, unless...
Wanda Quincy grew suspicious. "Don’t tell me you’ve never even met Beanie Quincy?"
Hayden Kaye remained silent.
Wanda Quincy sneered. "It seems Vivian Quincy really has no respect for you, her old flame. You’ve been running to her house almost every day, yet she won’t even let you see her son. She must still be deeply attached to President King. If you don’t work with me now, you’ll have no chance at all."
