A Heaven-sent Sweet Child Falls Asking for Hugs-Chapter 126: Have You Fallen for Her?
In any case, Jasper Ford’s sudden summons for Wanda Quincy to ask about the past must have meant he had discovered something, or at the very least, he was suspicious.
Wanda Quincy felt a vague sense of unease, so she deliberately avoided looking Jasper Ford in the eye as she spoke. Still, she could clearly feel an immense pressure bearing down on her.
Jasper Ford’s sharp gaze seemed to be coated in ice, overwhelmingly aggressive.
Wanda Quincy tried her best not to look directly into his eyes, and her delicate, soft voice grew quieter and quieter. "Jasper, why are you suddenly asking about this out of the blue?"
"Wanda Quincy, are you hiding something from me?" Jasper Ford looked down at her, his sensual yet cold lips hinting at a frosty demeanor.
The woman’s body stiffened. She hurriedly looked up and explained, "I’m not."
"You’re not? Are you sure?" Jasper Ford’s gaze grew even colder.
Wanda Quincy was scared to death. She cautiously snuck a glance at the man. ’A man that cold and unapproachable... if he really had those kinds of feelings for me, he would never be this fierce and standoffish.’ Wanda felt that if she so much as touched Jasper Ford right now, he would snap her hand off.
She dismissed the idea. The thought had only flashed through her mind for a second before disappearing completely. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Wanda Quincy even suspected that Jasper Ford wanted to see her birthmark!
Having grown up with Vivian Quincy, Wanda knew very well that Vivian had a medium-sized birthmark on her chest. It was exceptionally ugly, truly hideous. In the past, Wanda had even made fun of her specifically because of it.
’Has Jasper Ford discovered something?’
’That must be it!’
At this thought, Wanda Quincy was terrified. As Jasper Ford drew near, she subconsciously clutched her clothes tighter, her face flushing as she said, "Jasper, we’re not married yet. This... this isn’t right."
"I won’t touch you," Jasper Ford’s voice was deep, his dark eyes devoid of any emotion.
If he said he wouldn’t touch her, he meant it. He just wanted to get one thing straight.
Wanda Quincy had already suspected that Jasper’s sudden summons was very likely related to Vivian Quincy, but she couldn’t be sure. Now, hearing his promise, she was certain that all he wanted to see was the birthmark on her chest.
From the moment she first took her place until now, Jasper Ford had never once actually seen her birthmark. That was how Wanda had been able to keep up the charade for so long!
She had transformed from a poor, destitute student fresh out of school into the female CEO of a publicly listed company. She had her own company, her own luxury car, and even her own lavish villa. All of this was given to her by Jasper Ford. And it was precisely because he had never truly cared for her that she had obtained it all so easily.
But now...
Wanda Quincy’s heart was pounding. She nervously bit her lip. "Jasper, we’re not married. If anyone saw you this close to me, there would be gossip. Besides, we haven’t even had our engagement banquet yet."
The implication was clear: if Jasper Ford wanted to see her birthmark, he would have to give her another grand engagement banquet.
Jasper Ford’s eyes suddenly narrowed, the air around him instantly dropping to a freezing point. "Are you threatening me?"
"That’s not what I mean." Wanda Quincy shook her head frantically. "I just want what’s mine."
"And what is yours?" Jasper Ford demanded.
Wanda Quincy held back her tears, her voice filled with grievance. "You were my first man. I gave you the most precious part of myself. I want to marry you, so I want the position of the Ford Family’s Young Madam. I’m willing to do whatever you ask of me now, but I hope you’ll take responsibility."
Pausing, tears of regret streamed from Wanda Quincy’s sorrowful eyes. Her soft, aggrieved voice cracked with sobs. "I know you might have listened to what someone said and started to resent me, but I really, truly love you. I have nothing besides you. Ever since the engagement banquet was canceled, so many people have been mocking me, both openly and behind my back."
"Jasper, I’m your woman. Can you really bear to watch me be ridiculed by others?"
She would only do as Jasper Ford wished if he gave her the position of the Ford Family’s Young Madam.
’It’s what I deserve,’ she thought. ’He owes it to me.’
But what Wanda Quincy didn’t know was that her words had thoroughly enraged Jasper Ford!
The man let out a soft chuckle, the corner of his lips curling into a ruthless arc. "Wanda Quincy, don’t you forget who gave you everything you have now. As for the position of the Ford Family’s Young Madam, I’ll give it to whomever I please. It’s not your place to remind me."
’Give it to whomever he pleased?’
That single sentence set off alarm bells in Wanda Quincy’s mind. She subconsciously pictured Vivian Quincy’s face.
She snapped her head up. "Jasper, have you fallen for Vivian Quincy?"
The man’s brow furrowed.
Wanda Quincy’s gentle, limpid eyes filled with glistening tears. "She’s only been your assistant for a few days, and you’ve already fallen in love with her? I’ve been with you for six whole years, and you... you’re treating me like this?"
A dark cloud settled over Jasper Ford’s incomparably handsome face. He hated hearing Vivian Quincy’s name, especially at a time like this!
To a certain extent, Wanda Quincy’s undisguised accusation had hit a nerve. For some time now, he too had been wondering: what did he feel for Vivian Quincy?
’Without a doubt, I loathe that woman. I loathe her affectations, her filthiness, I loathe everything about her!’
’But, whenever I’m near her, I feel an uncontrollable urge to get closer to Vivian Quincy, to even possess more of her...’
He was a man with a sort of emotional mysophobia, extremely possessive of what was his. He wouldn’t allow his woman to have the slightest stain on her; it would make him angry, even drive him mad.
Yet, when it came to Wanda Quincy, this emotional mysophobia had no effect at all. Jasper Ford didn’t even care if Wanda loved him or which men she associated with. Even if Wanda were with another man, he wouldn’t have any reaction.
Because Jasper Ford knew very well that he would never touch Wanda Quincy. He felt a deep, instinctual aversion to her. Even if she had remained as chaste as jade for the past six years, he wouldn’t care.
But that wicked woman, Vivian Quincy, was the sole exception. She did nothing, yet she always managed to tug at his heartstrings.
They were merely superior and subordinate. Logically, Jasper Ford wouldn’t concern himself with how many people his employees had been involved with or how many men they had dated. If he knew, he would absolutely have no desire to interact with them.
But Vivian Quincy was different. She was like a clinging demon. She was clearly filthy and exactly the type of woman Jasper detested most, yet in her presence, he always felt a sliver of pity and a sick, possessive desire.
"Wanda Quincy, you and Vivian Quincy have known each other for a long time, haven’t you?" Jasper Ford pressed, his voice harsh.
A shiver ran down Wanda Quincy’s spine. She shook her head. "No."
"Not even six years ago?" Jasper Ford pressed on.
Wanda Quincy opened her mouth to say no, but she felt a murderous aura instantly fill the room. Wanda’s heart went cold. ’He must have investigated our past. He must know something.’ Forcing down her fear, she mustered her courage and said, "No, we didn’t. Vivian Quincy and I didn’t know each other back then!"
WHOOSH! The man suddenly bent down and seized her by the throat!
