A Heaven-sent Sweet Child Falls Asking for Hugs-Chapter 127: She Has a Birthmark
Wanda Quincy was terrified by Jasper Ford’s actions. She let out a wretched scream and stumbled backward, but his hand was clamped around her neck. After just two steps, the pain sent her into a fit of coughing.
Her eyes filled with glistening tears, her sense of grievance replaced by overwhelming terror.
At this moment, Jasper Ford was the very picture of a demon.
Wanda Quincy had never seen Jasper Ford like this. She was petrified. Fear consumed her, and tears streamed down her face as if a dam had broken. She shook her head frantically. "I didn’t do it, Jasper! Please, don’t... you’re scaring me."
The man’s eyes were frigid and merciless.
Wanda Quincy’s breath hitched. Her mind raced, frantically trying to figure out what Jasper Ford was thinking. ’He’s trying to intimidate me, to force a confession. I can’t be scared. I can’t...’
Taking a deep breath, Wanda Quincy willed herself to calm down. She lifted her head, her gaze firm as she met Jasper Ford’s eyes. "Jasper, did Vivian Quincy say something to you? I’ve told you before, we have bad blood between us. She can’t stand to see me doing well, so she’s bound to bad-mouth me."
"She didn’t say a word against you." Jasper Ford’s voice was crisp and cold.
Wanda Quincy’s heart jolted. "She didn’t? How is that possible? Even if Vivian Quincy hasn’t said anything yet, she will eventually. Jasper, I love you so much. How could I ever lie to you?"
"Then take off your clothes," Jasper Ford commanded.
His tone was domineering, leaving no room for refusal.
Wanda Quincy had never seen Jasper Ford so resolute. ’If I don’t do what he says today,’ she thought, ’he’ll despise me completely. I’ll lose my chance to be the Young Madam of the Ford Family forever.’
At this thought, Wanda Quincy’s hand, which had been clutching her collar, slowly relaxed. The fabric of her dress began to slide down... 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Slowly, so slowly, her snow-white, smooth skin was revealed. But the man felt not a flicker of interest. His eyes, as bright and brilliant as the stars, held no trace of desire. From start to finish, they remained utterly cold and merciless.
His gaze held no love, no affection, and certainly no lust. He looked at Wanda Quincy as one might look at an ant on the ground: completely unmoved.
His expression made Wanda Quincy deeply uncomfortable, even heartbroken. She hated that the man she loved was looking at her this way. ’Jasper’s eyes should be filled with adoration for me,’ she thought, ’not... not this coldness...’
Just as her dress reached her chest, about to reveal more, Jasper Ford averted his gaze. He turned his back to Wanda Quincy. "You can go now."
Wanda Quincy asked tearfully, "Aren’t you going to look?"
"Leave." Jasper Ford’s voice was laced with impatience.
Wanda Quincy had no choice but to scramble up from the floor and quickly fix her clothes. She cast one deep look at Jasper Ford’s back before turning and walking out the door. As she went, the corners of her pouting, aggrieved lips curved into a nearly imperceptible smirk.
After leaving the presidential suite and closing the door, Wanda Quincy glanced up at the number plate: 797.
The room where Vivian Quincy and Jasper Ford spent their first night.
Wanda Quincy walked away quickly.
「The night was deep.」
In the presidential suite, the man lit a cigarette. He gazed out at the dwindling city lights, lost in thought.
’I saw it just now,’ he thought. ’There was a birthmark on Wanda Quincy’s chest. Even though I didn’t see its full shape, I remember that’s the right spot.’
All the evidence and clues from six years ago pointed to Wanda Quincy. She even had the very birthmark he was looking for. ’So, am I just overthinking things?’ he wondered. Every time the lights went out and he heard Vivian Quincy’s soft, gentle whimpers, he’d go half-mad thinking she was the one from that night.
’Maybe it’s just been too long since I’ve been with a woman,’ he mused. ’I meet someone with an alluring voice, and I can’t help but start having these thoughts.’
He couldn’t shake the feeling for a long time.
When he arrived at the office the next morning, Jasper Ford found Vivian Quincy to be a complete eyesore.
’This woman is too beautiful.’
’So beautiful it’s distracting.’
Jasper Ford called Caden Chandler into his office. "Move Vivian Quincy’s desk."
"Huh?" Caden Chandler was confused. He instinctively glanced out the window and realized that from Jasper Ford’s desk, he had a clear view of Vivian Quincy’s every move.
Caden Chandler understood immediately. He quickly left, and soon enough, a male colleague was sitting at Vivian Quincy’s old desk while she had been moved to a small corner.
Jasper Ford had apparently developed a habit of glancing out his window in his free time. Now that Caden Chandler had suddenly put a male colleague in Vivian Quincy’s old spot, Jasper found that displeasing to look at as well.
For the morning meeting, Vivian Quincy was originally scheduled to attend, but Caden Chandler went instead. Jasper Ford didn’t want to see Vivian Quincy for the rest of the day, so Caden ended up taking over all her duties.
Vivian Quincy had no idea what was going on, but she was more than happy to have nothing to do. Caden Chandler, on the other hand, had drawn the short straw. After a series of meetings, he was about to collapse from exhaustion.
Finally at his wit’s end, he slumped over Vivian Quincy’s desk. "What on earth did you do to upset the president today?"
"I didn’t do anything," Vivian Quincy said, completely baffled. ’I just came to work, organized my files, and didn’t even exchange a single word with Jasper Ford. How could I possibly have made him angry?’
Caden Chandler said, "Then that’s weird. The president is in a really strange mood today."
"He seems the same to me. Cold, aloof, and generally ignores people. Isn’t that normal for him?" Vivian Quincy couldn’t see anything out of the ordinary; he seemed perfectly normal to her.
Caden Chandler said, "He’s cold, sure, but I feel like he’s got a really short fuse today. He’s been snapping at both you and me."
"Not at all. I think the president was incredibly nice to me today. He didn’t say a single word to me all day. It was wonderful. I wish he were always like this." Having gotten a day off, Vivian Quincy beamed. As far as she was concerned, this was the nicest Jasper Ford had ever been to her.
Caden Chandler shot back, "He was nice to you, but he took it all out on me! I’m telling you, Vivian Quincy, you’d better watch yourself. The president has chewed me out three times this morning alone. He used to favor me! I swear he’s taking all his frustration with you out on me."
"That’s ridiculous! I didn’t do anything to him." There was no way Vivian Quincy was taking the blame for this!
But Caden Chandler wasn’t having it. He was utterly convinced that his morning of misery was all because of Vivian Quincy. He shot her three stern warnings before being summoned to prepare for another meeting.
Caden felt he was at his breaking point. He glared at Vivian Quincy. "I’ll deal with you later."
Vivian Quincy threw up her hands. ’What does this have to do with me?’
’Jasper Ford doesn’t want me in the meetings, which means he doesn’t trust me,’ she mused, then said to Caden, "The president still dotes on you. Now hurry up and get back to work."
After Caden Chandler left, Vivian Quincy leaned back in her chair, leisurely humming a little tune. She felt like a pampered freeloader, getting paid to do nothing, and she was thoroughly enjoying it. Not having to deal with the tyrant was pure bliss.
Just as Vivian Quincy was reveling in her good fortune, a call came in from an unknown number. Puzzled, she answered. The moment she heard the voice on the other end, her beautiful face fell.
