A Heaven-sent Sweet Child Falls Asking for Hugs-Chapter 125: The First Meeting Was Here
"Before you bring Beanie home to inherit the family fortune, please investigate his background thoroughly. Don’t end up bringing an enemy’s son home without even realizing it," Jasper Ford reminded his mother very seriously.
Madam Ford remained obstinate. "I just like Beanie. As long as he’s willing to come to our home, even if he’s the son of an old bastard like Jeremy King, I’d still be happy to raise him!" 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Jasper Ford’s mouth twitched violently, and he suddenly felt a wave of discomfort.
There was no doubt about it; he really disliked Jeremy King.
In fact, he despised him!
Although Jeremy King was a business competitor, Jasper Ford would never hate an enemy over work; he felt it was completely unnecessary. People of their stature were already beyond such things. They were businessmen, and the only thing they cared about was profit. In the past, Jasper could have said with certainty that if the profits were substantial enough, a collaboration between Imperium Group and Jeremy King wouldn’t be out of the question.
But now, Jasper Ford had no good impression of Jeremy King whatsoever, simply because he was getting too close to Vivian Quincy.
Jasper Ford hated any man who got close to Vivian Quincy. All of them.
Facing Madam Ford’s probing, Jasper Ford said with a frosty expression, "You don’t need to worry about my affairs. I’ll get married when it’s time to get married. I just haven’t met the right person yet."
He turned and left.
Sometimes, the more you rush, the more mistakes you make.
Having lived for so many years, Jasper Ford had come to understand certain truths.
He was waiting. Waiting for that person to appear.
But at the very least, Jasper Ford was certain that person hadn’t appeared yet.
Jasper Ford didn’t sleep at all that night. Vivian Quincy’s face kept replaying in his mind. He didn’t even know why he was thinking of her. He shook his head, closed his eyes, and tried to sleep again. This time, he didn’t think of Vivian Quincy, but he thought of Beanie Quincy instead.
The faces of the mother and son, one big and one small, tumbled and surfaced in his mind, impossible to shake.
What Beanie had said when he got the toy also lingered in Jasper Ford’s mind...
Although the boy was always smiling, Jasper Ford’s heart ached for him. He even felt that Beanie was pitiful.
He had no toys, and... he was bullied by his peers for not having a father.
The more he thought about it, the more upset Jasper Ford became. In the middle of the night, he threw on a trench coat and went downstairs.
The night guard saw this and hurriedly asked, "Young Master, where are you going?"
Jasper Ford didn’t say a word. He had the guard open the automatic gate, drove away from the Ford Family estate, and sped through the night to the residential complex where Vivian Quincy lived.
But when he arrived downstairs, Jasper Ford couldn’t muster the courage to go up and ask. He sat in his car for a very long time, slowly lit a cigarette, and finally, took out his phone and dialed Wanda Quincy’s number.
"Mmm... who is it?" The woman’s sleepy mumble was hazy.
Jasper Ford replied coldly, "It’s me."
Succinct and clear, his voice was unbelievably pleasant.
On the other end of the line, Wanda Quincy was stunned for more than ten seconds before she jolted awake, bolting upright in bed. "Jasper?"
"Mm," the man replied in a low voice.
Wanda Quincy excitedly rubbed her eyes and checked the caller ID several times. After confirming it was really Jasper Ford, she was so happy she almost cried. In a soft, sweet voice, she asked, "Jasper, you’re calling me so late..."
"Come out and meet me," Jasper Ford said in a deep voice.
Wanda Quincy thought she had misheard. She gulped hard, trying her best to remain calm. "Where should we meet?"
"The St. Declan Hotel." Jasper Ford hung up after saying those four words.
Wanda Quincy cheered ecstatically. Phone in hand, she rushed to Fiona Hughes’s door and shouted excitedly, "Mom, come out, quick! Mom!"
"What’s wrong?" Fiona Hughes opened the door, bleary-eyed.
Wanda Quincy said, "Jasper Ford asked me to a hotel! He asked me to meet him at a hotel!"
"What?" Fiona Hughes was completely shocked.
Wanda Quincy said, "Mom, what does he mean? Does he want to... with me?"
"When a man asks a woman to a hotel, it definitely means that!" Fiona Hughes looked at what Wanda Quincy was wearing and immediately scolded her. "Why are you still in your pajamas? Hurry up and put on some makeup! Are you planning to see Jasper Ford looking like a ghost? He’d probably throw up if he saw you like this. Hurry up, makeup! Where’s your dress? Your jewelry? Find the sexiest things you own, quickly!"
"It’s the middle of the night. Jasper Ford must be missing you. You have to seize this opportunity. Once you get him hooked, he’ll never be able to get rid of you."
Fiona Hughes quickly pushed Wanda Quincy into her room, then ran back to her own room to help her find jewelry.
Changing clothes, washing her face, and putting on makeup—the whole process took over half an hour.
Wanda Quincy had wanted to spend more time on her makeup, but Jasper Ford was rushing her, even calling her twice in a row. Wanda figured he must be crazy with longing for her, so how could she dare make him wait any longer?
She immediately drove to the hotel.
She joyfully found out which room Jasper Ford was in. Wanda Quincy happily went to 797 and pushed the door open.
The man was sitting elegantly on a soft couch, a lit cigarette in his hand. Smoke swirled around, filling the entire room.
Wanda Quincy coughed a couple of times when she came in. Fortunately, she often attended various receptions and dinners and had encountered plenty of smokers, so she quickly adapted to the environment. Upon seeing Jasper Ford, a coy and charming smile immediately bloomed on her face. She walked over sweetly. "Jasper..."
Her voice was as soft and delicate as could be. Almost subconsciously, she wanted to slip into the man’s arms, to take the chance to press herself against him. But just then, the man looked up, and a single icy glare froze Wanda Quincy in place.
In his cold eyes, there wasn’t a trace of tenderness.
The smile on the overjoyed Wanda Quincy’s face slowly faded. She cautiously took a step forward and asked tentatively, "What’s wrong?"
The man slowly raised his head, glanced at Wanda Quincy, and said, "Sit."
"Okay." Wanda Quincy murmured her assent and cautiously walked toward Jasper Ford. There was empty space on either side of him. Wanting to be closer, Wanda chose to sit right next to him.
But just as she sat down, the still-lit cigarette between the man’s fingers moved slightly. A bit of hot ash from the tip fell onto the back of Wanda Quincy’s hand.
Wanda Quincy cried out in pain and jerked back. Her joy-filled eyes instantly welled up with tears.
She had thought Jasper Ford had called her here because he missed her, but looking at the man before her now, Wanda Quincy was terrified.
She recoiled so violently that she fell to the floor. She forced herself to look up and said, "Jasper, did you need me for something?"
"This room. Do you remember it?" Jasper Ford asked leisurely.
Wanda Quincy was bewildered. ’This room? What about this room? Why on earth would Jasper ask about this?’
Suddenly, she remembered the events of six years ago and realized this was the room where Vivian Quincy and Jasper Ford had been together for the first time.
Wanda Quincy was going mad with jealousy. However, she didn’t dare show a hint of it. Instead, she pretended to know exactly what he was talking about. "I remember. Six years ago, our first time was here."
