Hazel had never felt much scared and useless than she ever has at this moment.
She had tried assuring herself that it was just mere imaginations, that something could go wrong with the investigation,and Zaiden would stay there longer.
It’s not been up to fifteen minutes of the cops taking Zaiden away from her,while she’s still trying to cope with what was going on.
She had suspected as much that something bad was going on when she heard the crash downstairs,but Zaiden had stopped her from leaving the bed because he knew the reason for all that ruckus.
Hazel didn’t buy the idea that it was a mistake, when she yelled her mother in-laws’ voice when she opened the door.
She had also been a curious cat ,and didn’t listen to what Zaiden said about her not leaving the room,but rather, followed her instincts that proved her right that something was wrong.
What made it worse about all these that was happening at the moment,was the fact that she was still trying to take it as a mere coincidence that it was happening a few days to her wedding.
But as Sunny’s warnings suddenly sprang up in her mind to trust less and observe her,made it known to her that maybe it wasn’t a coincidence.
She had felt relaxed,maybe too relaxed about the threat on her head because she knew that it was of no use getting scared,when she can’t die yet.
But she didn’t stop to think of the fact,of the murderer having another plan towards her.she didn’t knew exactly what to do,what to say, rather than stare blankly into space while seated in the sitting room.
Her puffy eyes were evidence of her nonstop crying,which had been consoled by her mother in-laws who went out to take the calls from Grandpa.
What baffled Hazel about all these happening in the family, was the fact that things were going normally until she entered their life.
That had been the only thing she could place her suspicion on the matter at hand, because it all started with her,and maybe what Zaiden was passing at the moment might have something to do with her.
It had come to her notice that, although the family members weren’t on good terms with one another,they still had peace and not the stress going on in their life.
Until she came into the picture with her cursed self,she was the harbinger for everything they were going through.

Nothing lasts forever,and she can’t change or do anything to extend her days on earth,no matter how hard she tries.

This had been the task given to her,which she had fulfilled,but not all,her bucket list still had a few wishes she wanted to fulfill before she left.
Maybe,all this that was happening was the fairy godmother,trying to give her a sign that her time was rounding up,and she was coming to lift that cover on her.
A cover it was, from dying.
Maybe that was the cause of all these,the cover on her was wavering and she knew it would collapse in due time,with everything that had to do with her leaving the surface of this earth.
She was nothing,but only a few meters away from her death.
"Hey"She heard someone say ,and cleaned her face with the palm of her hands, from the tears that were cascading down her white porcelain skin.
Turniy to look at Nathan,who had his hands in his pockets and a look on his face, which was not happy either about what just happened a few seconds ago.
She didn’t know whether to trust him enough, with the fact that the look on his face was because he was also worried about Zaiden.
He was an asshole at first, but had changed just like his brother,but yet,she still had this tightening in her chest about her allowing him to think that they were in any way, close to each other.
She didn’t, and was not in any mood to talk to him at all right now,not when Zaiden is locked up and questioned for something he didn’t do.
She trusts him.
It was just a coincidence, that he had to be the scapegoat for someone who wanted to bring him down.
He had nothing to do with Anna anymore,and had proved that by burning every picture of the two while they were still dating, to clear the remaining doubt in her heart.
His dad and Nathan’s dad, had gone to the company to take care of issues that arose due to the matter at hand.
Which made her wonder what exactly Nathan was doing at home. Everyone was out there trying to look for a way to calm the citizens, about all of this because it made sense to her that it was not good for their business.
The look on her father in-laws’ face, had said it all when he received a call from work that made it known to him that the shareholders were retaliating, from putting their trust in Zaiden.
Which leaves her to know what it was all about,what if this was all a set up just to make Zaidem look irresponsible and not capable of handling the family business?
She didn’t know what exactly Nathan’s share in all of these,he was so difficult to read just like his mother.
Sometimes he’s serious,which gives her the idea that he wanted the company,that was why he was on cold terms with Zaiden and sometimes,he acts as if he doesn’t care less about what goes on.
Just like he was right now,he sat beside her to notice her scooting away from him when her hand mistakenly touched him, in the process of him trying to sit beside her.
She looked horrible,and needed someone to talk to,but Nathan was not the best option for that at the moment.
Not when she too was confused about all of these, Sunny’s words still ringing like an alarm in her mind, giving her a headache already.
"I just wanted to see if you are okay"Nathan started,fisting his hands angrily in his pockets when she shifted away from him as if he was poison ivy.
He thought they had passed this stage.
She softened towards him lately,and gave him attention,and now just because her boyfriend was locked up,she was trying to be a good girlfriend by staying away from men.
How dramatic.
She was avoiding him,but moments ago,she had cried in his arms without thinking of who lent her a shoulder.
Her senses were back,and he could say she got over her solemn mood faster than he thought,he went in earlier to have a talk with Eric about that stupid reporter.
Now,trying to act as a good brother inlaw who wouldn’t let his gorgeous sister in-law cry,she was doing it all wrong by avoiding him.
It made him angry,but control it is.
He can’t let her see that what she did made him angry,she was warming up to him,so letting her see his bad side was not good at all.
"Have you had breakfast?"He asked, putting on a smile to cover up his anger.
If she hasn’t?
He would be glad enough to make breakfast for her,and taunt Zaiden about it when he’s back.
He knew he would be back anytime soon,so he was trying to make do with this little opportunity he had with Hazel.
Grandpa wouldn’t allow his son to stay in that place for more than an hour,not when it’s Zaiden,his precious grandson.
"Eating is basically one of the least of my problems,"Hazel replied maybe more harshly with an added meaning while referring to him if he was okay.
His brother was in the station, but here he was asking if she wanted to eat,does it not matter to him at all that the family was in a tight corner and all he cared about was food?
Maybe Zaiden was right about him all along,it was best she stays away from him.
"Here you are,I prepared a drink for you both"Sophia interrupted their conversation,walking in with two drinks with a smile on her face.
That’s the first time.
Seeing her smile,Hazel knew the reason for all of this.

Handing a drink over to Nathak,who was still looking at Hazel to figure out what exactly was the reason for his mother doing this.
"I’m sorry about him"Sophia turned to Hazel,"Here is a drink to help you cool off the steam,trust me I’ve been there before"She took the last drink and gave it to Hazel,who reluctantly took it.
Mumbling a thanks to Sophia,Hazel was surprised at the change in attitude,maybe she had realized what exactly she was doing while holding grudges against her family.
Truthfully,she was thirsty and her throat was patched due to the crying,which made her pull the cup up to her lips.
But it was knocked out of her hold and its contents with the cup crashed loudly on the floor,which made her eyes go wide at who the hell just did that.
Looking wide-eyed at Nathan,who was standing in front of her,she was confused.
"I’m sorry,I slipped. ’’He apologized,trying to figure out what explanation would be best for what he just did.
She was looking at him suspiciously.
There’s absolutely no way he could d have slipped ok a dry floor,she’s not stupid.
"Have mine instead"He said,moving his drink to her,she shaked her head in refusal while standing up.
"No thanks,I need to use the restaurant"She lied,looking away from him and his mother who was glaring daggers at him.
"Okay,I will clean this up.I’m really sorry about that. ’’Nathan apologized,not giving his mother any attention because he knew she was staring at him,and her eyes were drilling holes into his head.
"It’s okay"she forced a smile before leaving both mother and son,with her mind still not at rest for what just happened.
Something was fishy between those two,and she had to find out what exactly was wrong before she gave her final conclusion, about the questions on her mind right now.
There’s no way Sophia would prepare a drink for her,and her son was lying about slipping,he didn’t want her taking that drink from his mother.
