365 Days To Love-Chapter 133 - ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-THREE: Murderer!
"So tell me,how was your trip to nowhere land?"Ezekiel was the first to talk to Nathan, after the cops had left with his dad.
He knew there’s no need hiding the truth, when it was obvious to him that he’s the one who intentionally wanted to run Zaiden over with his car.
That text message and the shock written on his face had said it all,the chief of staff had a good timing sending the message to him.
Oh! What Zaiden would do once he gets to know what he just found out.
"What does that mean?’’Elijah stood up from where he was seated, after figuring out where this conversation was heading to.
His brother was not going to digrace his son and accuse him of murder right infront of Sophia, not when she was still finding it hard to control the rage in her after finding out what the whole family thinks of their son.
He could only imagine what the cops said to Nathan,to have him react that way and based on the look on his face after seeing his phone,he knew something was wrong.
Was someone threatening his son?
Nathan never really told him of being threatened,besides he doubted if anyone would be able to threaten a manipulator himself.
There’s absolutely no way someone could do that to Nathan,not when he’s always one step ahead of them.
He already suspected something was wrong, and they were planning something against Nathan seeing that they didn’t report yesterday’s incident to the cops.
What are they hiding?
He noticed the hesitancy on his brother’s face,and the usual calm xpression his dad wore on his face as if he’s not bothered about anything,when actually he’s the most worried when the detective had persisted to see Hazel.
Luckily they had left after the talk with his son, forgetting about seeing Hazel but he doubted if they actually forgot.He noticed the look on the cops face to understand that he was already suspecting that something was wrong with his brother, and dad for not allowing him to see Hazel.
Well,whatever it is they were doing, there’s no way they can find out that Nathan was behind the recent incident without solid proof,and solid proof meant the cctv, there’s no cctv footage because he’s taken care of that.
"Absolutely relaxing uncle,at least i had some peace of mind staying there rather than coming here where i am being tagged a suspect"Nathan sarcastically replied to his uncle,but behind that he was angry.
Whoever it was that was testing his patience by sending this message to him was doing a fine job, because he’s clearly pissed off at everyone right here.
"A suspect?"Elijah feigned ignorance as if he didn’t know what was going on in the mind of his dad and brother.
"What are you saying?’’Likewise Ezekiel,he knew what Nathan was doing and there’s no way he’s falling into his trap anytime soon.
"Someone’s been playing pranks on me since the murder"
"What sort of pranks?"Sophia asked,getting inquisitive to know exactly where she stood with all of them.
Nathan didn’t want his mom knowing about this anytime soon,but it seems he has no choice but to open up openly Infront of everyone, because if he didn’t, whosoever was trying to get his reaction out of all this would find out he’s the one behind it.
He opened the message and gave the phone to his uncle, who’s expression made it known to him that he wasn’t the one who did it as much as he suspected he was.
Maybe he was too fast in giving his judgement or was he just trying to feign ignorance towards the whole thing?
His dad took the phone from Ezekiel, who didn’t talk but was speechless when trying to connect the dots and fix the puzzle.
Looking at Nathan who had a worried look on his face,he couldn’t believe that he had nothing to do with what he was accused of.
His facial expression reading that message said it all that he knows something,but him trying to act like he didn’t know what was happening was another thing.
What’s he trying to do?
"What the...’’Elijah exclaimed,the phone was snatched out of his hands by the angry Sophia who gripped the phone hard while staring angrily at the message.
Oh! Someone’s pissed off.
"Someone’s trying to put the blame on me when it has nothing to do with me,you have to believe..."Nathan faked Innocence.
"My son has nothing to do with this, he’s not a murderer!"Sophia yelled at Ezekiel as if he was the one who was accusing Nathan.
"What’s going on here?"Grandpa came in with the chief of staff following behind him as he watched the look on everyone’s face, especially that of Nathan and Sophia.
The detective had said something which bothered him alot,he suspected the both of them,but after seeing the results from the autopsy said it was different from their suspicion.
The bite marks on the guard’s body were that of a human being,and there’s actually no way a sane person would think of eating up a human being.
No one in his family was a cannibal,and there’s absolutely no way he would house such a disgusting human being if there’s actually one living with them.
How could someone eat a dead body?
The thoughts of anyone in his family doing that made him have goosebumps,the detective has left to come another time to get Hazel’s statement after he had bluntly refused to let him disturb the sleeping lady.
She needed the rest, because the next few days of her life will be stressful and she will be busy getting prepared for her wedding.
"There’s a problem dad, Nathan’s been getting messages accusing him of killing the guard,he got one right now concerning Hazel ’’Ezekiel explained as his dad looked from him to Nathan who had a solemn look on his face.
What an actor!
"Why didn’t you tell that to the cops?"Grandpa queried him as his eyes shot up in surprise,as if he didn’t think of that earlier.
"I.."Nathan tried thinking of any suitable words to back up his lie,why couldn’t he think of this question coming earlier?"I .. forgot"He tried lying.
"Do you think this is a joke?"Elijah said annoyingly,he didn’t actually tell him that someone was threatening him.
Who was it?
His dad?
Ezekiel?
Zaiden?
Yeah,it definitely had to be Zaiden,the fuckers being trying to accuse his son of what he didn’t do.
"He’s scared Elijah,you clearly saw how that detective was trying to make me look as if i had something to do with the murder"Sophia defended her son immediately,when she figured out his dad was not even helping matters.
"But you didn’t,he should have opened up and told him"Elijah told her.
"And let him take my son into custody? While the murderer is somewhere trying to kill her next victim?"Sophia attacked Elijah.
"Her?"Ezekiel asked,as everyone turned to him."How do you know it’s a her?"
"Did i say that?"Sophia asked, laughing hysterically to make it look like she made a mistake with her statement,but the look on Ezekiel’s face was not funny.
She had messed up.
"Enough!"Grandpa shouted, turning to Nathan"we are yet to find out exactly who the person is,so we can’t just conclude yet if its a he or she unless you have evidence,the least you can do is help before things get complicated, remember we have a wedding coming"The old man advised.
"As if i care"Sophia muttered to herself but she didn’t know everyone heard what she said because the stares they sent her way were threatening.
"What?"she asked Elijah who dragged her to him, as Nathan sighed looking away to see Hazel standing on the stairs.
He felt his heart skip a bit watching her stand there while looking at him, his eyes scrolling down her body to check if she’s hurt in any way and finally relaxed when he saw nothing.
But the look on her face was what scared him,she was looking at him as if she was angry,why won’t she be?you nearly killed her man.
He remembered.
"Hazel"Ezekiel turned towards her and saw her staring at Nathan,did she finally remember?
Did she see his face?
"You are here"Zaiden came down to the stairs where she was,his hands covering hers as he went down the stairs and helped her too.
She was still looking at Nathan who was comfortable,as if he was not scared at the way she had been looking at him.
"How are you doing?"Grandpa asked,but she ignored him too, surprising everyone as they all followed her eye movement to where it was placed on Nathan.
"Do you have something to say?"Ezekiel spoke up,urging her to talk when it all made sense to him that she had something to say about Nathan.
Yet,she didn’t reply to him either,she released her hands from that of Zaiden’s,walking up to Nathan with slow steps as everyone’s attention was now on her and what was about to do.
She finally stopped in front of Nathan, looking at Sophia who was trying to release Ezekiel’s grasp from her while throwing hateful stares at her.
Hazel looked away,and surprised everyone by giving Nathan a hot slap which he deserved.
"No?"Sophia shouted.
"Murderer!"Hazel yelled.
Finally,it’s game over for Nathan!
