Chapter 132: Chapter ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY- TWO:The Orphanage.

Isabella Brown stared longingly at Ethans picture, that she didn’t even notice when the car stopped.

She had been quite lost in her thoughts while caressing the picture in her phone.

He had grown up to be more handsome just like she had expected, and he was just the striking resemblance of his dad.

James had earlier filled her in on his last encounter with him, that she wished she was there to see the look on his face when James had bragged on to Ezekeil about his new wife.

She wasn’t entirely angry at what James did,she was happy and would pay any amount just to see Antonio go through the same sufferings she went through just because of him.

She was annoyed at Anthony,he ruined her life and that of her children due to his stupid inability to trust her.

She missed a lot,she wasn’t there to see her children grow, she wasn’t there to see them take the first step, she also wasn’t there to hear them call her mama.

The most annoying part of it was the fact that maybe her daughter would never forgive her for what she did,she didn’t know if she would ever.

Ethan had everything, at least he had a dad and he didn’t lack anything while growing aside from the absence of a motherly figure in his life.

But it wasn’t the same for her babygirl,he was the main reason she didn’t get the proper treatment just like her brother.

She should have sent her to her dad just like she did,but she didn’t want them hating her because she knew if she had done that, Anthony would go at any length to fill their head up with his lies and put every blame on her.

Which she’s probably sure he did to Ethan, that’s who he was,A manipulative and a self centered man who had no regards for any human being including his wife who he claimed he loved.

She wondered why he never remarried, yeah,It was such a good opportunity for him to get married to her step sister,Nora, who had accused her alongside his sister just to get her out of his life and get Antonio for himself.

Well, getting married was not any of her concern because whether he was or not, that wouldn’t change the fact that she’s here to make his life Miserable, and no amount of pleas from anyone would change her mind.

She had stayed up since last night, the same insomnia that she had gotten used to,for twenty four good years was still haunting her.

She couldn’t really sleep, not when her daughter was out there without any clue about who her real parents were, since the very first day she abandoned her there at the orphanage, her mind wasn’t at rest.

What kind of mother would she be if she wasn’t concerned about what she did to her child?

Her conscience had being eating her up,that no matter how much James had tried to assure that her daughter was safe was enough to calm her down.

Which was the main reason she was driving there, she made up her mind to go to the orphanage and get the clues on where she could actually be staying.

James had offered to go along with her but she declined, she needed to do this alone, this was the cross she had to carry.

Numerous thoughts, occupied her mind at the possible reasons of her not finding her child crossed her mind, which got her scared.

What if she died?

What if she got adopted to another family and left the country?

Well, her baby girl was strong and there’s no way she could die,the heavens wouldn’t have played such a fast one on such an innocent soul.

If the matter of death came up,she was the one who was supposed to be dead, which she didn’t know why she was still living up till today. She had come up with the idea that her mission here on earth was not complete, that’s why she was still breathing.

Twenty years ago,she tried commiting suicide that she overdosed on drugs, she was actually happy when she passed out only for the smile to die down, the moment she opened her eyes to find herself in a hospital.

Her roommate rescued her that she regretted having a roommate, although she was angry that she still alive, that had being a blessing in disguise which led her to meet James.

She had escaped from the hospital after she heard Sandra, her roommate talking to the doctor who had told her that she needed help, they would recommend putting her in an asylum.

She couldn’t believe that Sandra could actually go to such lengths to think that she was insane but she couldn’t really blame her,the constant talking to herself and her and her withdrawal from talking to anyone made her think she had lost it.

She had knocked a nurse out and had exchanged clothing with the pass out female and had escaped the hospital that night, only to meet James in the worst circumstances.

But that was all for the best,James was her saviour who made her into the woman she was now,and after she finds her child, she was going for Ethan.

Even if she had to release to the outside world about Antonio’s ill treatment toward her,she didn’t care, her children needed to know that the fault was from their father and not from her.

Their dad ruined their chance at having a happy family and she’s going to get their revenge on him, come rain, come sunshine,Antonio needs to suffer.

"Ma’am,we are here"Her driver said, and she came out of her thoughts and cleaned the drops of tears that were forming in her eyes. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

They were here.

She came down from the car looking at the front of the orphanage, there hadn’t been much changes to it the last time sge was here.

Looking at the exact place where she abandoned her child, she wished she could change the hands of time and rewind it back to last twenty four years,to the night she kept her child in the front door of this place.

Maybe things would have been better,if she hasn’t done that maybe things wouldn’t have been complicated like now,she didn’t want Antonio having her two children.

She had actually thought she would make it sooner, and come get her before she gets to eighteen years, which was the main age orphans were signed out of the orphanage.

"Ma’am,are you okay?"Her driver asked again, when he watched the gloomy look on his madam’s face while staring at the front doors of the orphanage.

He too was curious to know the reason why they were in an orphanage, but he was too wise to know that it was not in his place, to ask such silly questions.

"I’m okay, stay here"Mrs.Brown told him, taking her glass out of her bag to put it on,to hide her tears."I will be out soon"

She took the gifts she brought along with her from the hands of her driver’s,the gate of the orphanage opened on its own accord.

The healthy and carefree laughter of the children was what she noticed firstly, before she saw them engaged in different activities.

There were lots of them, they were so small and innocent that she wondered why exactly their parents would think of abandoning such god given gifts.

Was her child happy staying here just like them? Or was she more of a headache?

"Greetings’ ’ A nun greeted as she turned to her with a smile while she removed her glasses.

"Greetings sister"

"I see this is your first time here,"

"Not actually though, ’’Mrs.Brown said, watching as one of the children ran up to her and hugged her leg, surprising both her and the lady beside her.

"She really loves doing that to everyone she sees, regardless of whether it is strange or not ’’The lady beside her said as Mrs.Brown carried the little girl up in her arms, who was all smiles, the other children’s attention was now on them.

"She’s beautiful"She exclaimed as she patted the girl’s head."Can i see the owner please?"She turned to the lady who nodded and took the little girl from her hands.

"Lady Morgana is sick, but her daughter can be of help, lady Susan is incharge now"The lady says as they stopped Infront of a door and knocked,a female voice was heard which ushered them in.

"Welcome ma"Susan greeted while observing the lady Infront of her,it was such a rare sight seeing someone like her visiting the orphanage these days."please have a seat"

Mrs Brown gave the gifts to the other lady who took it and left, but not without the child waving goodbye at her while she smiled, she was so cute.

"I see you have gotten attached to Melissa, she’s our sweetheart and would make a fine daughter for adoption"Susan suggested, giving out her own opinion without waiting to hear the lady’s side of the story before concluding that she was here for adoption.

Mrs.Brown grinned"as much as it sounds embarrassing,I’m not here for adoption,I’m here to find my daughter"she said, rubbing her hand nervously.

"Daughter?’’Susan asked, well she’s not surprised,it’s been the drama lately everyone coming for the children they abandoned after years of their hard labour.

Well, she should pray her child was not adopted yet or maybe left the orphanage, judging from the way she was dressed, she was wealthy.

It won’t be a crime extorting money from her.Susan thought.

"Yeah,I left her here twenty four years ago"

"Wow,that’s a really long time, she’s certainly not under our care anymore"Susan said flatly, losing interest in the conversation.

How would she know who exactly and where exactly her child was, everyone who left hardly comes here to show their appreciation.

"Yeah,I know, which is the reason i came to you,I really need to find my daughter,"Mrs. Brown begged."I will give you any amount you want, but please all i need is a clue"

Susan was already tired of the conversation, but she didn’t show it though because she heard she was willing to offer money.

She must be really desperate to find her child.

"Does she have a name?"Susan asked, trying to act like she was interested in the conversation.

"I never really wrote it down, she was wrapped in a pink knitted wrap with the initials,A.S. there"

"Knitted wrap"Susan whispered, while trying to think of anyone who could have in with anything related to what she just said, but she couldn’t remember."I don’t.."

Her words died when she shoved a written cheque of one million into her hands, surprising Susan.

"Ma.."

"I’m the worst mother of the year, but please help me"She cried, which made Susan want to laugh at her. If she loved her child so much, why did she abandon her in the first place?

"I don’t think there’s anyone I could think of ’’she said, dropping the cheque aside,to take out the admission book just to show her interest in what she was saying when it didn’t bother her.

"I abandoned her in front of the gate"

Susan stilled when she heard her last statement, she clearly heard wrong right?

Looking at her, with her mind trying to deny that it wasn’t what she was thinking"what did you say?"

"I abandoned her in front of.. the ga.te"Mrs.Brown cried.

Pink wrap.

Gate.

She should have known the same eye colour she shared with her.

No way!

She’s that silly girl’s mother.

Hazel.
