100X Return System: My Talent Awakening Becomes a God-Level Cheat-Chapter 33: Ambushed
Aegon had reached the street to his house, the street was more quiet than usual, the kids that usually play around with cycles were not there.
Houses had their doors closed, gates of their garden locked. This wasn’t the norms, Aegon was certain that although it was a high-end area, something had happened.
There were always a certain number of people around; talking or playing. But now it is was different, it wasn’t giving the same energy as before.
"What is going on?"
Aegon felt a strange feeling in his heart. He could tell that something was wrong, or something had gone wrong. Either way, something didn’t feel right.
While he was about ten feet away from his own building, he found a particular vase on the ground.
This was the same vase that his sister kept her favorite flower which she watered everyday before going to work, now it was outside their garden.
"What is that doing outside?"
Aegon, seeing this, quickly rushed to the vase and saw that the tip of the vase had broken, but was still useful. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
The flower that was inside had dried up because it hadn’t been watered for days, but the root was still intact, inside the soil.
Aegon picked up the vase with his hands, dusted the body and looked forward. He was at the front of his house and saw how the entire garden had been destroyed.
"This doesn’t make sense."
Before Aegon went in, he looked backwards and thought that whatever happened here must have caused the neighbors to be so closed.
"This could only have happened just a few days ago. And there’s only one person who I can think of..."
Aegon’s expression became cold as he opened the garden’s gate and entered. The garden was connected to the compound of the house.
Although the gate was accessible through the compound, it was called the garden gate because it was nearer to the garden than the concrete grounds.
After he had entered, he went to the garden and placed the vase, standing on the ground. There, the natural plants that were growing had all been damaged.
They were all in a mess and had all died. No animal could have done this, because Aegon saw a certain shape.
"The foot of a person."
This was obvious already, it was someone who used their legs to step on the plant and killed them.
Seeing this, Aegon got even more angry. He stood up and went to the main front of the house, where the entrance door was.
Upon getting there, he was baffled to see that the door was half closed. There was a small space between the door and the wall.
"It is a break in..."
There was damage where the handle of the door was, and Aegon was certain it was indeed a break in.
’But that doesn’t make sense. Why would he break in when he obviously has the key?’
Aegon was certain it was the man who took his sister, or at least some associates of his. And he knew that this man would surely have a spare key, even though it would look like he didn’t.
He had given Maureen the full set of keys and she he thought there was no more, but who could blame her? The man was cunny.
"Damn bastard." Aegon cursed as he opened the door.
The house was dark, then he placed his hand on the wall reaching for the switch of the lights.
After he had found it, he turned it on and behold a great disaster was facing him.
"Tch..."
The house had been turned upside-down. He walked into the living room and the first thing he saw was the television on the ground, broken.
The next was the long couch. It had been flipped over, its back now laid on the ground while its feets were in the air, even the center glass table had been broken and destroyed.
Also the mini library shelf that was filled with books had fallen down and the books were scattered on the ground.
Seeing this, Aegon felt even more painted. He had seen his sister take books from there and read when she didn’t go to work.
It was where she had her most favorite books and where she spent most of her free time, when actually free.
It was where she felt alive and away from work.
Aegon didn’t touch it, or anything and went into the first room. This was the room he took over after he had come into the house.
It was small but still reasonable compared to what he had in his previous home.
This house was a two bedroom, one bedroom acting as the master’s bedroom, and the other as a studio; which was Aegon’s own room.
He scanned through the place and saw everything had been turned upside-down. Although, there was not much to begin with because he hadn’t bought anything to add yet.
Afterwards, he left the room and headed for the master’s bedroom. This was his sister’s room. It was the one she took because she was originally the only person living here before Aegon woke up.
At this point, Aegon already knew what to expect. Before he left the house, her room had been turned upside-down so what was the worst that could happen?
Aegon got to the room and the door was opened, unlike when he went to his own. Here, the room was the same as he had left it before.
"So they didn’t touch it?" was what he thought until his gaze landed on the window of the room, the curtains were gone.
"Have they always been gone?" Aegon wasn’t sure as he thought it might have been like that.
He couldn’t have known because back when he left, he left with rage in his heart and didn’t take such note.
Aegon was about to step into the room when he heard a strange sound.
He turned his neck and immediately saw a figure come out from his room then it dashed towards the living.
"Get back here..."
Aegon ran out to the living room and found nothing, the figure had gone, disappeared. Then his gaze landed on the door.
"The door is still closed. They wouldn’t have left yet..."
Aegon walked in slowly and began to think in his heart.
’Black cloak and a sigil?’
It was at this moment that a single image flashed into his head.
’That’s it!’
He had remembered the individual he saw when he was at the alley. Although at that time he didn’t see a sigil, only the cloak hoodie, he was convinced it was the same person.
’Are they the ones who came here? Did they follow me?’
At this point, Aegon had already walked into the living room fully. He scanned through the entire place to look for any unusual movement.
But there was nothing.
Although the place was scattered there was no single object that had moved. They were all the same as he left them.
’This doesn’t make any sense. Did they disappear? No, that’s not possible.’ Aegon had this thought in his mind, but quickly displaced it.
The thing was that he definitely didn’t know what had happened. At the time he saw the individual in the alley, he didn’t mind them and thought he was seeing things.
However, now he was certain he wasn’t. That movement from his room to the living wasn’t his eyes playing tricks on him.
This was real.
Aegon brought out the dagger he had tucked to the side of his cargo and held it in his right hand.
He wasn’t planning on using his ability when he found this person because that would only cause destruction, so he had to use the dagger.
During this moment, Aegon’s gaze landed on the shelf of books that was on the ground. He wasn’t doubtful but still had to be cautious.
He moved with precision carrying every step with calculations, then while he was close, he used his left hand to lift up the shelf.
The shelf turned over and fell to the ground on its back, there was nothing there, but the books that were scattered on the ground.
Suddenly, he heard a sound and instantly turned his neck. At that moment, his gaze landed on the kitchen.
It was part of the living room separated by the small dining table. The noise that was made was from the iron spoons stacked and pinned to the wall.
They were moving in sync as though something had bombed into them.
Seeing this, Aegon stood up and became very altered. He swept the kitchen area with his gaze and noticed that it was impossible for a person to hide there, except.
Aegon thought of this and moved slowly, approaching the small island counter in the kitchen. He had expected that was the only place a person could hide.
As he moved, his gaze was fixed at the island and for every step, the side came more into view, and then it was fully viewed.
"What?... Nothing."
He had been wrong, there was nothing there.
Just then, two hands suddenly grabbed his neck from behind.
One hand had wrapped over his neck, choking him, the other his face. Upon feeling this, Aegon began to struggle; trying to free himself by using his own hands, but it was difficult.
After a while of trying and not progressing, he used the dagger in his right hand and stabbed down the stomach of the individual.
Immediately, the individual let go of Aegon and in that same second Aegon turned around to see the person.
At that moment, the individual was holding their stomach, their hoodie had fallen over revealing their face.
Before him, Aegon saw the beautiful face of a lady, and just by seeing the way his eyes moved she knew her hoodie had fallen.
Knowing this, she instantly retreated to nothing but into the shadow of the fallen couch on the ground.
