She arrived at the banquet, flanked by her entourage of officials and ambassadors. The queen exchanged pleasantries with the assembled guests, sharing conversations with diplomats and key officials.

"Huh, isn’t that the woman we saw outside just now?" a socialite muttered in surprise.

At these words, Bai Sijia turned hastily, only to see Ye Lu standing amidst the guests on the other side, her eyes filled with excitement as she looked at the queen.

Bai Sijia was taken aback, puzzled about how this woman could appear in such elite surroundings and how she managed to sneak in.

"What were the banquet’s staff doing, letting such a low-class woman in so casually?" Bai Sijia was irritated. Did Ye Lu even belong in this kind of gathering?

The fact that they were at the same banquet was intensely disagreeable to her.

A socialite immediately piped up to curry favor, "Sister Sijia, I bet she snuck in. With her status, she wouldn’t even be able to touch the corner of an invitation. Why don’t we inform the head of security and have her kicked out? Her presence is an embarrassment, isn’t it disgraceful to be seen with such a woman?"

Bai Sijia sneered, "Hmph, tossing her out would let her off far too easily. Sneaking into the Queen’s banquet, harbouring ill intentions, and posing a threat to foreign leaders is a serious crime. It’s enough to land her in jail for half her life."

Ye Lu had voluntarily walked into a trap and Bai Sijia would be a fool not to seize this opportunity to get her behind bars.

She eagerly located the head of security who was vigilantly overseeing the event, pointed at Ye Lu, and with a malevolent smile on her thin lips, she told him:

"See that woman over there? She was lurking outside earlier. I even saw her with a knife. How on earth did she manage to get in? If anything should happen to the queen, all your heads will roll."

The security chief instantly blanched. Despite rigorous security, someone had gotten in unnoticed. He was immediately on alert.

His hand instinctively went to the gun at his waist. At his signal, two of his men followed suit, gradually closing in on Ye Lu.

Completely engrossed in watching the queen, Ye Lu was taken aback when her hands were suddenly seized.

A stern voice whispered in her ear, "Ma’am, don’t move, and do not resist. Please come with us."

Ye Lu looked back in shock, only to find herself being held by two men in sharp suits, who were unmistakably security personnel. She was baffled. What had she done?

"What are you doing?" she demanded.

"Oh, Ye Lu, how audacious of you, sneaking into the banquet and plotting against the Queen. You’re done for. Someone take her away, don’t let her cause any further disturbance to this elegant gathering." Bai Sijia’s triumphant voice echoed. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Ye Lu’s face darkened. So it was Bai Sijia again. She had barely settled her previous score with this woman, yet here she was, attempting to frame her again.

And this time, it was for conspiracy against the queen — a serious charge.

"I am Duke Hai Lanse’s companion, I didn’t sneak in," she retorted to the chief of security.

"Ha. Such a thick skin, lying without any hesitation! You, the Duke’s companion? You should take a look at yourself, a dirty bottom-dweller, claiming to know an elite foreign dignitary like the Duke. Your lies really know no bound," Bai Sijia mocked dismissively, not believing a word.

Nervously, Ye Lu’s eyes darted around the room, searching for Hai Lanse; who, after gaining entry with her and her son, had moved on to chat with his own compatriots.
