My Favorite Game Followed Me!
Chapter 789
Chapter 789
Captain Joraniah agreed with Ishmael regarding fighting all of Anton’s summons again, complaining that although he lost, the wizard kept saying that he only lost because he did not take Anton’s summons seriously. This was despite the fact that the others wanted their turn.
The captain lectured Ishmael first before agreeing to his request about fighting the summons again. The captain kept nagging Ishmael regarding the wizard's behavior of not taking his enemies seriously because of underestimating Anton, despite the fact that everyone in the team was already informed of the new mage’s capabilities. Anton even told them that his summons’ strength could reach as high as half of his power. With their situation, they could not afford to hold back or take anyone for granted, or it would cause their deaths. Ishmael could not retort because the recent fight proved Captain Joraniah’s point.
As per the captain’s request, Anton summoned all of his summons again, and when the fight started, everyone saw that Ishmael was fighting seriously. The fight was a glorious scene filled with spectacular spells. After an astonishingly long fight of about thirty minutes, Ishmael still lost. The wizard did manage to kill all of the ravens, all of the spirit wolves, and all of the dire wolves, but the Grizzly Bear, the Clay Golem, the Shadow Warrior, Shadow Master, the Valkyrie, and the weak Poison Creeper prevailed against the wizard. Anton thought that the creeper only survived because it was mostly underground and was taking its time to ambush Ishmael.
Even though Ishmael could fly, both the Valkyrie and the Shadow Master had skills that brought him down to the ground, and once the wizard was on the ground, the fight belonged to Anton’s summons.
Ishmael looked shocked when he lost again. Anton saw that not only he, but everyone in the team was truly surprised at how powerful Anton’s summons were. Ishamel lost with the summons not having received any support buffs from their summoner. Not only that, but the fact that Anton could resummon any fallen summon immediately meant that, just with his summons alone, Anton could be hailed as a powerful wizard.
Anton could understand his teammates' shock. Just thinking about fighting powerful immortal enemies brought goosebumps to his skin.
One by one, each of Anton’s teammates fought with all of his summons, even Sudarta and Helena. Anton was truly surprised that none of them won. The best fight was between Captain Joraniah and his summons, with almost all of the summons destroyed except for the Valkyrie. The Valkyrie won because of how it was an expert on hit-and-run tactics. Anton even had to heal his teammates using his Cleansing Aura.
Once the fight started, two wizards against all of the summons, the summons started losing. When the captain asked Anton to support his summons using his spells, aka his Paladin Auras, the summons started winning again.
If Anton was being honest, his opinion of his teammates' fighting capabilities had lowered a bit simply because of their fight against his summons. Of course, he did not say anything about that. He still wanted to have a good relationship with them.
When three wizards started fighting against all of Anton's summons, even with buffs, the summons lost. When the captain asked Anton to resummon those that were destroyed immediately, the summons started winning again, although the fight did last an extremely long time. The one against the captain, Ishmael, and Sudarta, lasted for an actual hour, and the three barely won.
When the fight of his summons was against more than three, everyone saw that there was no hope for the summons to win. Still, everyone concluded that Anton’s summons were extremely powerful.
The test against his summons actually lasted the whole day to Anton’s amusement, but it did look like everyone enjoyed it. Everyone said that it was good practice, and because of the fight, they had started thinking about spell combinations that they had never thought of before.
After a few hours, Anton started leveling up his Diablo character while watching his teammates train with his summons. All in all, Anton felt the day was productive. His teammates learned new things, and Anton was able to level up his Diablo character.
Captain Joraniah asked Anton if he had tried fighting against his summons, and he simply told the captain that he had not, since he was sure that it would not work simply because they were his summons. His summons simply would not be able to damage him because of the summoning mechanics. He also told the captain that he intimately knew all of his summons abilities, and when the captain asked why that was, Captain Joraniah saw that he hesitated.
The captain frowned at him, and Anton remembered what Joraniah told him at the start. His teammates needed to learn his abilities, and he needed to learn their abilities. Holding back was not conducive to creating full trust among them, which was a necessity for their team’s survival.
Anton sighed and admitted to Captain Joraniah that he also had all the spells and skills that all of his summons had. The captain stared at him and suddenly shouted that everyone should meet at the meeting hall again after dinner. Anton’s teammates were confused as to why the captain suddenly looked pissed off.
After dinner, the Gorvin team met again in the meeting room.
“Anton had been lying to us,” Captain Joraniah loudly announced, and everyone stared at the captain, then at Anton.
“I apologize, but you have to understand. I just arrived here, and I don’t know any of you yet. I didn’t lie. I just held back a little regarding my abilities. Once I shared all of it, I felt like I would be a little vulnerable. Surely, all of you haven’t shared all of your abilities?” Anton said.
Unfortunately for him, everyone glared at him. Apparently, his teammates did not hold back at all and shared all of their abilities with him.
Anton sighed and decided to share everything since apparently, all of his teammates did already. He came to that conclusion simply because he felt that team Gorvin felt like the last team that he would be in, in the fight against the Undead Coalition. There was this feeling that this place was where the last fight against the Undead coalition would be, which would have the greatest impact on the fight for the survival of the living.
Anton then told everyone that he was ready to share everything. He told them that his unique magic could be categorized into eight class skills. He described to his teammates the skills of the eight classes in Diablo II, which greatly amazed everyone.
He showed them the skill trees of each of the Diablo II classes and described each of the skills' functions and even the synergies with each other. He did not hold back at all and even shared the Necromancer class skill trees.
“So you also have the skills of a lich!” Helena said, and Anton nodded.
“I haven’t used any of the Necromancer summoning skills in public except for the Clay Golem, since that one could be attributed to just being a regular summon, and the fact that the skeletons needed corpses to be summoned made the summoning skills of the Necromancer class impractical for battle, since I don’t want to be accused of being an undead.”
Everyone then clamored to see how all of his skills worked, but the captain said that it was too late in the day for that, and unfortunately, the next day, they would receive their next mission. That meant that the skill presentation of each of Anton’s classes would have to be conducted at another time.
Thankfully, everyone forgave Anton. Because of his very young age, everyone gave him a pass.
