The driver jokingly said, "She might not be your wife now, but she will be eventually. Brother, let me give you some advice, as men we shouldn’t fuss over things like women do, it’s better to endure a little loss and keep the peace than for both of you to be unhappy."

Seraphina Vaughn: "Driver, don’t mind him, he just likes to play deaf and dumb."

Upon hearing this, Julian Bishop couldn’t help but say, "Is it me who likes to play deaf and dumb, or is it you?"

Seraphina Vaughn snorted lightly and turned her head to look out the window.

The driver chuckled, "When a girl ignores you, it doesn’t mean she doesn’t want to talk to you. You should be thick-skinned and approach her first, otherwise, your girlfriend will end up with someone else sooner or later."

Before Julian Bishop could speak, Seraphina Vaughn retorted, "I genuinely don’t want to talk to him."

The driver smiled knowingly, "Girls always say one thing and mean another. From what I can see, this young man seems quite steady, not the type to easily argue and get angry. So I guess it’s probably you, young lady, throwing a tantrum. It’s not easy to find a good boyfriend, you should cherish him."

Seraphina Vaughn didn’t retort but instead covered her mouth and tapped the car door.

The driver was startled, "What’s wrong?"

Julian Bishop quickly said, "Please stop the car."

The driver pulled over, and Seraphina Vaughn hurriedly got out, crouched by the roadside, and dry heaved again.

Julian Bishop immediately followed her out of the car, and seeing this, the driver handed over tissues and fetched an unopened bottle of mineral water from the trunk, handing it to Julian Bishop and softly asked, "Is it motion sickness or... are you going to be a dad?"

Julian Bishop didn’t have time to chat, one hand soothingly rubbed Seraphina Vaughn’s back, while the other handed her the tissues.

They hadn’t seen her eat anything all day, and she had thrown up twice, prompting Julian Bishop to worry about both Seraphina Vaughn’s health and the baby’s.

Watching Seraphina Vaughn rinse her mouth with the mineral water, Julian Bishop softly suggested, "Let’s go to the hospital for a check-up tomorrow."

"Who asked you to come?" Seraphina Vaughn muttered quietly, turned to the driver, and said, "Driver, I won’t need the car anymore. How much do I owe you?"

The driver looked at the meter and said, "Seventeen yuan, would you like to pay by scan or cash?"

"Scan." As soon as Seraphina Vaughn spoke, Julian Bishop had already scanned and paid, courteously saying to the driver, "Thank you for your trouble."

"No trouble at all." The driver returned to the driver’s seat, and before getting into the car, he cheerfully advised, "You young couple have a good life together."

With that, the driver got into the car and drove off, not giving Seraphina Vaughn a chance to argue.

Feeling uncomfortable from the vomiting, Seraphina Vaughn had no desire to speak further and headed quietly towards the hotel.

Julian Bishop tugged at her jacket hood, saying, "Walk on the sidewalk."

Seraphina Vaughn frowned and pulled her clothes away from him, still visibly annoyed, but obediently moved to the sidewalk inside the greenbelt.

They weren’t far from the hotel, which was visible in the distance, it would take no more than five minutes to walk there.

The street near the hotel was lined with numerous small restaurants.

Thinking that Seraphina Vaughn hadn’t eaten much that evening and had vomited twice, Julian Bishop worried she might be hungry and turned his head to ask, "Do you want to eat something?"

Still feeling a little uncomfortable in her stomach, combined with her dislike for Julian Bishop, Seraphina Vaughn didn’t hesitate to shake her head and reply, "No, if you want to eat, you go yourself."

"Not hungry?"

Seraphina Vaughn snapped, "I’m in my twenties, I know if I’m hungry or not, do I need you to tell me?"

Julian Bishop remained calm and patient, "Can’t you speak to me quietly and peacefully?"

"I have this temper, if you can’t stand it then get lost! I never asked you to bear any responsibility, you don’t need to humble yourself here and suffer. I won’t be moved by you, so don’t waste your efforts."

Julian Bishop abruptly changed the topic, asking, "Do you have someone you like?"

Seraphina Vaughn: "You don’t need to know the answer to that question, you just need to know I won’t like you."

Julian Bishop: "With you saying that, I’m even less inclined to let go, because I actually enjoy a challenge."

Seraphina Vaughn rolled her eyes, stopped, and turned to face Julian Bishop, "Okay, let me rephrase, I won’t be with you, it has nothing to do with whether I like you because I never planned to get married in this lifetime, is that clear now?"

Julian Bishop raised his eyebrows slightly, saying, "That’s fine too, if you don’t want to, we can avoid marriage, and jointly raise the child as friends."

Seraphina Vaughn helplessly rolled her eyes and questioned, "Can you guarantee you’ll never marry in your life? Not have children with another woman? Have you thought about the psychological trauma our child might suffer if they become accustomed to your presence, but then when you find your true love, start your own family? Wouldn’t it be better not to let them know about your existence from the start, saving both you and them future heartache!"

Seraphina Vaughn’s concerns were indeed something Julian Bishop hadn’t thought about, but after hearing her words, he quickly replied, "If you have such concerns, then consider me as having already committed to you, so naturally I wouldn’t marry or have children with anyone else."

Seraphina Vaughn laughed mockingly, "Don’t make grand promises, men like you turn faces faster than flipping pages!"

Julian Bishop felt Seraphina Vaughn’s resentment towards him seemed largely fueled by her distrust of men.

He paused, then said, "Why dismiss someone without first getting to know them?"

Seraphina Vaughn turned and continued walking, saying as she went, "It’s not worth it, I don’t want to waste time and effort on what’s bound to end badly."

Julian Bishop leisurely followed, walking beside Seraphina Vaughn, he asked, "Do you have a type you like?"

Seraphina Vaughn thought briefly, then looked at Julian Bishop with a sarcastic smirk, "I do."

Julian Bishop gazed at her inquisitively, listening as she continued, "I like those who aren’t clingy, who respond vaguely to me, and preferably those who never contact me for the whole year."

Amused, Julian Bishop continued, "If that’s what you like, I can manage that."

Seraphina Vaughn: "Alright, then disappear from my sight right now!"

Julian Bishop laughed softly, "But you have to admit you like me."

Seraphina Vaughn frowned, and Julian Bishop continued, "Think about it, according to your preferences, we could still meet once every four years, leaps years have three hundred and sixty-six days."

Seraphina Vaughn paused in surprise, and then sighed exasperatedly rolling her eyes, muttering under her breath, "You’re crazy."
