Chapter 900: Chapter 900: Pride or Wife

During the movie, Seraphina Vaughn kept holding a bucket of popcorn, continuously shoving it into her mouth. š’»š˜³š˜¦š˜¦š˜øā„Æš’·š˜Æš˜°š‘£ā„Æš‘™.š˜¤š‘œš˜®

Just when she was laughing heartily at the plot, she suddenly felt a discomfort in her stomach.

She immediately stood up and hurriedly left the cinema.

Julian Bishop, sitting in the back row, saw this and stood up suspiciously to follow her out.

He only saw Seraphina Vaughn quickly walking into the women’s restroom.

Julian Bishop stood outside the door with a worried look, unable to resist taking out his phone to text Seraphina Vaughn: What’s wrong?

Seraphina Vaughn only heard her phone ding in her bag as she vomited over the toilet, having no time to check her messages.

Not receiving a response, Julian Bishop turned and looked around, planning to find a female staff member to check on the situation.

Just then, Seraphina Vaughn came out of the restroom, wiping her mouth with a tissue, looking a bit haggard.

When she saw Julian Bishop standing by the sink, she paused for a moment but didn’t greet him, even rolling her eyes, and silently walked to the sink to rinse her mouth with water.

From Seraphina Vaughn’s series of actions, Julian Bishop realized it was probably pregnancy symptoms.

Although Seraphina Vaughn didn’t show him a friendly face, he still moved behind her, gently helping to hold her hair back to avoid it getting wet, and softly asked, "Does this happen often?"

After rinsing her mouth and washing her hands, Seraphina Vaughn wiped her face with a tissue, gave Julian Bishop a disdainful look, then flipped her hair back over her head and headed straight back to the theater.

Julian Bishop received a call from Faye Xavier, so he found a spot outside the theater to talk about work and waited for Seraphina Vaughn to finish the movie.

While Seraphina Vaughn didn’t wait for Julian Bishop, she did notice after returning to her seat that he hadn’t returned.

She thought to herself, everyone has their pride, and since she had given Julian Bishop the cold shoulder so many times, he probably was out of patience and had left in anger.

Thinking about this, Seraphina Vaughn felt a sense of relief, yet also an inexplicable feeling of something stuck in her chest.

She assumed it was due to the earlier vomiting, and didn’t pay much attention to the second half of the movie, dozing off halfway through.

When her girlfriends woke her up, she realized the theater was almost empty.

Yawning, Seraphina Vaughn walked out of the theater, and her friend suggested, "It’s still early, shall we go to a karaoke bar for a bit?"

Without thinking, Seraphina Vaughn waved her hand and said, "You guys go ahead, I’m too tired."

"Hey? Isn’t that the handsome guy from just now?"

"Seems like he’s looking at us."

Following her friend’s gaze, Seraphina Vaughn finally saw Julian Bishop standing not far away.

Julian Bishop put his phone away in his pocket and walked towards Seraphina Vaughn, noticing her tired demeanor, he softly asked, "Do you want to go anywhere?"

He knew Seraphina Vaughn would go against him, so he didn’t directly say: it’s getting late, time to go home.

If he said that, Seraphina Vaughn might stubbornly stay out longer with her friends even if she wanted to leave.

Her friend who had asked about Julian Bishop earlier now tugged on Seraphina Vaughn’s arm and whispered, "Didn’t you say you didn’t know him? And he doesn’t look like an idiot either..."

Seraphina Vaughn thought Julian Bishop had already left and didn’t expect to encounter him again upon exiting.

Yawning, she told her group of friends, "I’m exhausted, you guys go have fun, I’m heading back."

One thoughtful friend offered, "Then let’s take you downstairs to catch a cab, I think..."

Before she could finish, another friend tugged her sleeve, smirking, "Don’t you get it? Brother Seraphina has a handsome man to accompany her, let’s not intrude on their couple time."

The group left with a bit of playful shoving, leaving Seraphina Vaughn standing there alone.

She didn’t want to be alone with Julian Bishop, but lacked the energy to join the group.

So Seraphina Vaughn zipped her jacket a little higher and walked to the elevator, blending in with the crowd inside.

Julian Bishop stayed close by, naturally guiding her to a corner of the elevator.

When they reached the first floor, Seraphina Vaughn walked on ahead without waiting for Julian Bishop.

Outside the cinema, several empty taxis waited by the roadside.

Seraphina Vaughn went over, opened the front passenger door, and got in.

Seeing Julian Bishop follow her into the car, Seraphina Vaughn ignored him, treating him like air, and reported her destination to the driver, then focused on her phone.

Julian Bishop didn’t initiate any conversation, knowing well that anything he said now would only offend Seraphina Vaughn.

After a few quiet minutes, the driver, feeling the odd silence, joked with a smile, "Did the couple have a fight?"

Seraphina Vaughn paused her scrolling, glanced back at Julian Bishop, and coldly told the driver, "I’m not close with him."

Hearing this, the driver laughed and continued, "Not close but riding in the same car? Youngsters arguing is normal. My wife and I used to bicker too, but after she passed away last year, I regret every fight we had."

Seraphina Vaughn was dismissive of Julian Bishop, so she didn’t resonate emotionally with the story.

"Life’s short, being together is fate, don’t waste it on trivial fights. When you’re my age, you’ll realize all those angry moments were wasted. I would rather have used that time to take her out for some grilled skewers."

The driver’s light tone gave weight to the listeners’ hearts.

After hearing this, Seraphina Vaughn thought not about cherishing time with Julian Bishop, but lightly touched her stomach, thinking how she wanted to spend as much time as possible with her baby once it was born.

The driver turned to Julian Bishop, criticizing, "And you, too, why not comfort your wife if she’s upset? Why just sulk?"

Julian Bishop: "..."

"Take a tip, son, don’t reason with your wife while she’s angry, just say something nice and apologize. She’ll cool off for sure. Once she does, you can talk things out. But keeping silent when she ignores you, what’s more important, your pride or your wife?"

Seraphina Vaughn corrected him, "I’m not his wife, and he’s not as insightful as you, so saying this to him is useless, he’s not very bright."
