Chapter 128: Smooth Talker

After the Industrial Ring was the Verdant Ring. It said to be the ecological and residential heart of the city.

What was even more surprising was the massive forests. Although it was actually artificial, it was created to purify the air, stabilized Energy density, and regulate the Clark City’s atmosphere.

The Verdant Ring, after all, has the Residential Megazones, housing tens of millions of civilians. Unlike overcrowded lower cities elsewhere, Clark City’s residential sectors are spacious and layered vertically with gardens, terrace districts, hanging waterways, and public beast parks.

Speaking of beasts, or beast pets, there were also Civilian Beast Sanctuaries, where domesticated beasts were raised.

The crew member said, "We’ll be entering their airport in the ten minutes. I will utilize this time to provide knowledge more about the other rings."

He first shared information about the Scholar’s Ring—after the Verdant Ring. It was the intellectual engine of Clark City.

This massive district contains the Clark University, research towers, libraries, and beast-theory institutes.

Doctor Eleanor said she graduated from Clark University to earn her doctorate degree in medicine.

Felix was more intrigued at the Clark Archive Nexus, which was the largest known repository in the nation, containing pre-cataclysm records, beast evolution manuscripts, ancient maps, bloodline histories, and forbidden expedition journals.

Unfortunately, not everyone could gain access to it as the entire sections were sealed by Monarch authority.

Nevertheless, if he was given an opportunity, he’d certainly spent every millisecond reading every book for him.

After the Scholar’s Ring was the Grand Medical Ring, the greatest concentration of medical institutions in the nation.

The National Beast Medicine Council Headquarters, Annual National Medical Assembly, Major hospitals, even academies, and research institutions were located inside the Grand Medical Ring.

The Grand Medical Ring was the pride of Clark City. It was considered as the greatest medical zone in humanity’s territory.

After the Grand Medical Ring was the Crown Administrative Ring, the political center of the nation.

It houses national ministries, beast registration bureaus, high-rank arbitration courts, national treasury, and inter-city diplomatic halls. Thousands of high-rank officials worked inside daily, even having their own place.

Lastly, the first ring of Clark City was called the Old Citadel District, the innermost and oldest part of the city.

It contains the Monarch Palace, Founding Archives, Ancient Beast Vaults, First Beast Tamer and National Heroes Memorial, and Royal Bloodline Hall. Only high officials, royal retainers, and selected council leaders may enter freely.

Of course, that includes the Malik Clark II, the most powerful Beast Tamer in Clark City.

The crew member then finished sharing information when the TV focused at the Black Obsidian Obelisk located at the Awakening Plaza inside the Verdant Ring.

She said that the Black Obsidian Obelisk was first planted at the Old Citadel District. But when Clark City was expanding and progressing, and Malik Clark II inherited the mayor’s position from his father, he personally moved the Black Obsidian Obelisk at the Verdant Ring and surrounded it with a plaza for the citizens’ convenience.

As the Obsidian Wing was descending to the airport, the Black Obsidian Obelisk, the First Obelisk of the humanity, appeared massive up close as the airport was closer it.

The airport was ten times larger than Chambers City airport and was busier as more than ten Obsidian Wing were already inside.

There were countless cars, like ants from a distance, moving and parking inside the airport.

Once the crew member turned silent, letting the passengers watched intently and felt the Obsidian Wing descending, Doctor Eleanor said, "We’ll be staying at my friend’s house. She’s a citizen here and have acquired a permanent housing after becoming a doctor the same day as me and contributing a lot in the field of medicine.

It’s spacious and have enough room for everyone."

Master Shen asked, "Am I included?"

Doctor Eleanor turned towards him and rolled her eyes. "Of course. The accommodation here is expensive, given at the time of the year."

Felix asked, "Since your thesis will be the main highlight in the Annual National Medical Assembly, will it make more sense that they have provided accommodation for us?"

Doctor Eleanor nodded. "They already have. In fact, each of you have an individual luxury room, but I suggest otherwise. It’s inside the Grand Medical Ring. Most of the tourist attraction can be located at the Verdant Ring. Although the gigantic skyrail system can reduce the time to travel to different ring, given how large it is, it will still take hours.

There’s a thousand more reason to choose my friend’s house rather than there, just believe me. I’ll be your tourist guide in Clark City. My friend is included, too."

Felix chuckled. "I was just asking. Since you’ve already said so, we’ll definitely follow you, our gorgeous tourist guide."

Doctor Eleanor grinned. "What a smooth talker. It might be effective with other, Felix."

Felix shrugged. "I didn’t—"

"He sure is," said Krisha out of nowhere when she was busy with Mia just earlier.

Felix gazed at her, confounded.

Krisha narrowed her eyes at him and crossed her arms.

She said, "She already has a lot of women in his contact list."

Felix recalled the prettiest hostess in his contact and sighed.

He said, "I’ve already removed her and it wasn’t my intention at all."

"Yeah, sure. There will be more to come."

Felix ignored her right after, knowing that Krisha was simply provoking him.

Doctor Eleanor gazed at them and smiled. She then chatted with Master Shen about what she knew of the Clark City.

The Obsidian Wing fully descended and the crew members asked the passengers to leave one at a time to avoid overcrowding the path.

Sky Marshal Kaelor also appeared, and the passengers thanked him when they had the chance. Sky Marshal Kaelor barely reacted that the passengers felt ignored.

However, those who were more than once a passenger of the Obsidian Wing were aware of his personality and didn’t mind, not forgetting to be grateful to him.

When it was Felix and others’ turn, Sky Marshal Kaelor surprisingly bid farewell to them and stated the Obsidian Wing would return at the last business day of the first week of August...
