Everything happened too quickly. The sky cracked like an egg and armored dinosaur-like monsters lurched out of the fissure. The split, though small at first, quickly widened. Within a few short hours, these beasts had overrun the world.

Countries, even those who had been enemies for centuries, sounded a global alarm. Political differences were cast aside as humans scrambled to find a solution—any solution—to what became known as the Great Disaster 1.0.

Human experimentations began, first in reluctance, then in earnest. As days turned into weeks and weeks into months, failure rates remained high. Desperate for results, global authorities started turning a blind eye to how experimental subjects were sourced.

Countless victims were kidnapped and trafficked to state-run laboratories. Shi Tian was but one of them. But unlike those who died nameless, in pain, and unrecognizable, he had the fortune of surviving after being injected with humanity’s last hope—an integrated chip.

Except… the chip remained dormant. It seemed that certain circumstances must be met before the chip could be activated. What those circumstances were, even the scientists in charge could not answer.

I am taking inspiration from the original plot, but I am not planning mirroring it 1:1.- Of the returning characters, some may have altered personalities, although I will try my best to remain true to their book counterpart. But I will also think up ”what would they have done“ scenarios and modify their personality to match the alternative world we are in. I hope you will still enjoy it; that is my goal. To entertain you.- There is no transmigration, no isekai tropes, no reincarnation, no knowledge of in-lore events, none of that. The main character is someone who is born in-universe.

Another year of enlistment season, the recruit company is a rare encounter in a hundred years, bringing together a group of unruly thorns with sky-high backgrounds!

When everyone was at a loss, Qin Yuan recommended himself to be a recruit company commander and began to build the strongest special force!

In the annual large-scale military exercise, recruit companies are allowed to participate and are responsible for simple logistics.

However, when the red side was retreating, a miraculous scene appeared on the battlefield.

The head of a reconnaissance regiment of the Blue Army: “Report! The red team cheated! Our reinforcement regiment was defeated by the enemy’s special forces, but the enemy actually made a poor excuse to call himself a recruit company!”

Brigade commander of a rocket brigade of the Blue Army: “Can’t you afford to lose? Special forces are not allowed to participate in this exercise! Your red team actually dispatched special forces?”

The Blue Army’s superior roared angrily: “It’s just nonsense! I was shot in the head with special forces in violation of the rules? You also quibble that you are a recruit company?”

Qin Yuan smiled lightly: Don’t pretend, actually… I’m bringing special forces!
