The warm hospital room was filled with a faint scent of medicine.
On the hospital bed, Lilac Serval sat silently, taking occasional sips of the white fungus and lotus seed soup that Charles Mcintosh was feeding her.
The sweet flavor spread in her mouth. She lowered her head, staring at the white bedsheet.
The fever had subsided, but her complexion was still poor, pale.
"I’m leaving tomorrow," Lilac said softly.
"I won’t allow it."
