"Do you like these red berries?" James Black suddenly asked.

Jane Sampson nodded and then took out a squashed one to give to James Black, "Look, it got crushed, not edible anymore. I was actually planning to bring it back and soak it in milk and yogurt."

"I’ll have Peter Gingery pick a basket for you in the mountain village tomorrow at noon, and I’ll buy you yogurt tomorrow morning," James Black chuckled, "He ate one of your peaches, so returning a basket of red berries is only fair."

Jane Sampson blinked her eyes, feeling, "He might just smash that peach onto my face tomorrow."

"Tell him it was my idea," James Black said and then went to the kitchen to get a fruit plate for Jane Sampson, "Choose for yourself, I’m going to take a bath."

"Oh." Jane Sampson glanced at James Black and then slowly sat down on the sofa, drew her legs up onto it, seeing no reaction from him, she slowly crossed them, then reached out to take the fruit plate.

James Black watched her series of careful movements testing his limits, if it had been earlier, he probably would have already told her with a stern face to put her legs down from the sofa.

But now James Black had gotten used to it, Jane just liked sitting like that, and he had no expectation of her changing.

For matters not of principle, James Black didn’t mind indulging her a little.

Seeing that Jane Sampson was already busy, James Black headed toward the bedroom, already having grabbed his clothes and ready to enter the bathroom. After a thought, he came back out from the bedroom, standing in the doorway.

Looking at the woman who was originally sitting on the sofa but now stood at the doorway, leaving behind a messy tea table, James Black really was not surprised at all.

"Jane Sampson," James Black called out to the woman in the doorway by her full name, "You could try to sneak away."

"What would happen?" Jane Sampson asked in a tiny voice.

"Nothing much, it would just mean me personally going to your dormitory and carrying you all the way back here," James Black said nonchalantly.

This was something James Black would totally do!

Jane Sampson quickly shook her head, "I wasn’t thinking of sneaking off. I just saw the shoes at the door were a mess, so I came to straighten them."

After saying that, Jane Sampson pretentiously arranged her shoes neatly, then hurriedly sat back on the sofa, "I’m busy here, I still need to wash these fruits again later, so stop staring at me and go take your shower!"

Ugh!

Why is he watching so closely!

"It better be that way," James Black said, and without immediately going back, he took another look at the woman in the living room for a while before turning around and heading back to the bedroom.

Jane Sampson waited until she was sure James Black wasn’t standing there anymore, then she turned her head toward the bedroom and rolled her eyes. The wild fruits on the table were still not sorted, and with a turn of her eyes, Jane got down from the sofa and tiptoed towards the bedroom.

She really wanted to know what James Black had hidden just now. She had found it, yet he was still keeping it a secret and wouldn’t let her see.

The sound of water echoed from the bathroom, and Jane Sampson looked towards the dirty clothes basket, where indeed James Black’s clothes were inside. She laughed to herself and reached out to pick up his pants.

She remembered that he had put stuff in his trouser pocket.

Jane Sampson searched the pockets and found nothing, then remembered that James Black had the habit of taking things out of his pockets first, so she looked around the room.

In the end, she saw in the drawer of James Black’s bedhead cabinet a mobile phone and a white small jar that was placed on top of it.
