CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 1356 - 1364: Where to Go
So, nowadays, why should Jane Sampson repay James Black’s enmity with kindness?
That’s also the reason Bright Sampton didn’t even bother to persuade Jane not to take James with her when she heard about it.
Nobody is a fool, and nobody should delude themselves into thinking they can manipulate others like idiots.
"Sister, see you tomorrow, oh right, sis, dress up nicely tomorrow to infuriate Julie Sampson!" Bright Sampton mischievously reminded her, followed by a giggle before hanging up the phone.
Jane Sampson initially felt a bit down, but Bright Sampton’s remark instantly made her laugh.
After ending the call, Jane Sampson happily returned home.
She remembered what Bright Sampton said about dressing up to infuriate Julie Sampson tomorrow, so the first thing she did when she got home was to open her wardrobe and choose her clothes.
After going back and forth, she was not quite satisfied, and Jane decided to go out and shop for clothes tomorrow.
Closing the cloakroom door, Jane Sampson went back to her bedroom, just about to wash up when her mobile phone suddenly rang.
It was a WhatsAPP video call from James Black.
Jane Sampson picked it up with a big smile on her face, "I’m home now, just got back!"
If James Black hadn’t called her with that WhatsAPP video, she probably would have forgotten his earlier reminder to call him when she got home.
James Black could tell by the timing that Jane Sampson was lying, and watching her somewhat guilty smile, he simply couldn’t be bothered to expose her.
If he did, she would just say she forgot, then act all cutesy, and in the end, only succeed in royally pissing him off.
"Did you take the stuff from my drawer?" This was the second reason James Black made the video call, besides checking if Jane Sampson had gotten home safely.
James Black opened his drawer; the self-criticism report was still there, but the leaf card Jane Sampson gave him was missing.
"Yeah, I took it back~ You said you didn’t like it~ If you don’t like it, I’ll just bring it back~" Jane Sampson fished out the leaf card from her purse and shook it in front of the mobile phone screen.
"Can you just take back something you’ve given out? Jane Sampson, are you three years old?" James Black said with a sour expression, "Put it back properly, and if you dare to damage it, get it dirty, or lose it, see how I’ll deal with you."
After thinking it over, James Black added, "Never mind, I’ll come back home and get it myself tomorrow. I’ll have dinner at home, remember to cook my meal."
"Hey, don’t!" Jane Sampson quickly begged, "I promise to keep it safe! I’ll put it back properly! I didn’t mean to take it, I just saw a little corner of the leaf lifting, so I wanted to sneak it back to fix it up. Even if you didn’t notice today, I would have secretly put it back next time I went to the guard team."
As she said this, Jane Sampson’s expression was as innocent as could be.
It’s probably because when someone who’s usually so mischievous suddenly turns well-behaved, you can’t help but be a bit more suspicious.
James Black grunted and frowned slightly, "You’re not home tomorrow evening? Where are you going?"
Otherwise, why would she act so desperately charming upon hearing that he was planning to come home for a meal?
James Black remembered that Jane Sampson had no work planned for tomorrow.
Jane Sampson blinked her eyes; denying that she had plans for tomorrow evening would clearly be a foolish thing to do at this time.
So, she smiled, "Tomorrow evening I’ve made plans with my friend Nina Rice to have dinner, go shopping, and watch a movie."
"..." The corners of James Black’s mouth twitched almost imperceptibly, "You just chatted with Nina on WhatsAPP this morning, and you told me she went abroad and won’t be back until half a month later."
Jane Sampson slapped her forehead in frustration, cursing her loose lips, "Why did I have to mention Nina of all people!"
