CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 1357 - 1365: You, I Don’t Trust
"If you’re not going to tell the truth, I will come and bring you back right now." James Black spoke softly, but Jane Sampson knew he was not just talking—he would do as he said.
Jane Sampson sighed, "Anyway, I have something to do so I won’t be home for dinner, I’ll be back after eating. If you don’t believe me, you can call me to check after nine o’clock tomorrow night! If I’m not at home by then, you can send your guard team to pack up and take me away!"
"Who are you eating with?" It wasn’t that James Black needed to know every detail of Jane Sampson’s whereabouts, but the less she said, the more he felt that there was something out of the ordinary.
"Why ask all these questions~ I would certainly not go out to meet other men behind your back." Jane Sampson pouted, "I find it hard enough to deal with just one of you."
After speaking, Jane Sampson kept sneaking glances at James Black, noticing his eyebrows twitch slightly, his eyes narrowing, and the corners pressing down as if brewing something.
With an understanding of the meaning behind James Black’s subtle movements, Jane Sampson suddenly found herself out of options.
"I’ll tell you, I’ll tell you!" She sighed again, "Julie Sampton has her engagement party tomorrow, my parents want me to bring you along, but I don’t feel like it, so I’m planning to go by myself tomorrow evening!"
After finishing, Jane Sampson stamped her foot, "Why should I bring my husband to support her just because Julie Sampton is so scheming? Is Julie Sampton that loveable? Or am I, Jane Sampson, some great philanthropist from eighteen generations back, expected to repay kindness with enmity?"
"No matter what, you are not allowed to go to the engagement banquet tomorrow night!" Jane Sampson declared, "I don’t want you to go."
"Then I won’t go." James Black laughed softly, "If you don’t want to go, you don’t have to."
Hearing James Black’s laughter, Jane Sampson felt a bit better; at least he was indulging her little tantrum and didn’t think she was ignorant of etiquette.
"I have to go though, if I don’t, my grandparents will be sad." Jane Sampson shook her head, "I don’t want Julie to have her way, but I also don’t want my grandparents to be unhappy, so I’ll go with Bright Sampton."
"If Julie Sampton makes you unhappy at the engagement party, you can leave whenever you want, or call me, and I’ll come to pick you up myself." James Black clicked his tongue, "Tomorrow night I’ll come home and personally get the card, because I can’t trust you."
Jane Sampson’s eyes widened as she looked at the man on her mobile phone.
Argh, go to hell!
How infuriating!
What does he not trust about her?
What could there be not to trust?!
Was there a chance she would throw away, swallow, or burn his precious card?
He didn’t realize that his treasured card came from the very hands of her, the big darling Jane Sampson!
Jane Sampson was unhappy, and when she was unhappy, she wanted to make James Black desperately search for his dear card when he returned home tomorrow.
Without a word of greeting, Jane Sampson hung up the WhatsAPP video call in a huff, then turned around and took the card to look around before walking straight into the cloakroom to pull out her cartoon suitcase.
Opening the suitcase, Jane Sampson took out a small box and angrily tossed the card inside, "Since you can’t trust me! See, I treasure your precious card just like it’s my own treasure!"
After speaking, Jane Sampson took out a pen, ready to record an entry about James Black in the diary that she hadn’t written in for a long time.
But unexpectedly, when she opened it, she was startled.
On the last page of the diary, there was a new sentence. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
Disappointed you, didn’t I? In the end, you married a man named James Black. — James Black.
