 The Sorcerer Monarchy Capital was shrouded in an intense atmosphere and restlessness because of the approaching invasion. The authority announced the Dominion Army should come in the morning, but they did not tell everyone the exact time. The market in the city was visibly empty, only a few stalls opened.
 Most of the people stayed in their houses, but many attempted to seek refuge in another city as a long line could be seen at the east gate. A lot of carriages filled with valuables, but there were more people on foot, carrying luggage on their backs and in their hands, moving together with their families.
 The Sorcerer Monarchy did not ban them from leaving the city, nor did they forcefully conscript them into an army despite the approaching war. The Sorcerer Monarchy was confident to win the war when it came to a siege battle. Conscripting the untrained people who could not fight would make things worse for them.
 At the west side of the capital where most soldiers were concentrated. The archers and the sorcerers were placed on top of the wall. The knights and the warriors stood behind the wall, divided into many groups in case the wall breached or they were required to go out of the city to finish the battle.
 The atmosphere in the army was split with the sorcerers having an overwhelming confidence that they would repel the invasion. They were confident with the spells that they had developed and mastered over time. This was one of the times when they could use the spell freely.
 Then there was a non-sorcerer side. They were nervous about the upcoming battle. The gripping anxiety flooded them with endless concerns for what would come for them. They had known the cruelty of the Dominion, and they were worried about what would come for them.
 Times flew amidst the tension, but the Dominion Army did not show up even after their scout prediction. Another hour passed, and the Dominion Army did not show up. Their enemy did not show up in the time they predicted, but it did not make them lower the tension. In fact, they became even more anxious because now they did not know what their enemy was doing.
 The concerns slowly spread out and the soldiers made a groundless assumption that the Dominion might take a detour and try to attack them from the north side where they were unprepared.
 "I see someone!"
 One of the watchers yelled out, and the other watchers from a different tower confirmed as well. The soldiers subconsciously straightened their backs and gripped their weapons harder. The enemy was finally here, and they would fight the Dominion with their lives at stake. However, the next announcement from the watcher confused everyone.

</div> "He is alone! There’s no army behind him, and he is running on his feet!"
 Again, the other watchers confirmed it as well. The high-tension atmosphere turned into confusion.
 "Prepare your spells, Sorcerers!" The Grand General of the Sorcerer Monarchy raised his voice, and the sorcerers prepared their spells, but then there was a second order that contradicted the first order.
 The Raven Monarchy Grand General shouted his order, "Stop the spell! He is one of us! He is not an enemy!"
 Most of the sorcerers listened to the second order since it was not an enemy approaching them. However, three God Rank Sorcerers released their spells. Three massive meteors appeared in the sky, coming down for the incoming person.
 The soldiers were shocked to see the meteor, but the sorcerers had a proud look on their faces even if it was not them who cast the spell. The three God Rank Sorcerers predicted the incoming person’s movement and landed the meteor at that location, creating a massive explosion as the heatwave blew toward the city.
 Everyone gaped at the destruction caused by the sorcerer as a massive explosion bloomed to the sky. People were amazed, admired, and feared the meteor. It gained a mixture of reactions, and some of them were in fear because the meteor just hit one of their friends.
 "Are you insane? He is one of us!? Why would you cast the spell!?" Grand General Senton of the Raven Monarchy raised his voice in anger. His rage could not be contained as it echoed in the air. All the attention was on the three God Rank Sorcerers that launched the spell. Those three people were Young Lord Albin’s followers.
 "He is Captain Bran, part of the Young Lord Volans’ force!" General Senton was so angry that he grabbed one of the sorcerers by the neck. They stood on top of the wall, so everyone could see what happened.
 "I will not let this slide if you are doing this shit for the succession battle. I will turn the six monarchies against The Sorcerer Monarchy if I find this is intentional! And I will make sure The Raven Monarchy will never support a fool that is blinded by greed to succeed the throne!"
 The God Rank sorcerer’s expression paled, but he pretended that the threat was nothing. The sorcerer kept his proud expression even though his feet were in the air.
 "He survived! He survived!"
 The watcher made a shocking announcement, and everyone on the wall turned toward the explosion. Sure enough, someone ran through the smoke and approached the city. They could not see clearly if the person suffered a major wound, but he was alive and approaching the city fast.
 "Open the gate! Let him in!" Grand General Marko of the Chevalier Monarchy gave an order to the men who guarded the gate. However, the man arrived at the gate before the gate was fully open.
 "There’s no need to open the gate, Grand Generals! I am coming back as a messenger! We won! We destroyed the Dominion Army, and killed their commander! We killed Zilgard!"
 Bran expected the news would be responded to with cheers. They won the battle, and they defeated the Dominion Army before they reached the capital. They decapitated the Dominion Army and ensured the Dominion would not attack them in the next ten years. However, he was met with silence.
 Captain Bran let out a chuckle when he thought about it, they did not believe him. When he saw everything from their perspective, he understood why they did not believe him. It was simply impossible for Young Lord Albin’s force alone to defeat the whole Dominion Army. He also would not believe it unless he witnessed it with his own eyes.
 "Follow me! I will lead you to the battlefield if you don’t believe me."
 "Don’t believe him! It’s a trap!" Young Lord Benedict came up on the wall and responded, "Do they capture Volans and force you to lure us out of the city so your life can be spared? Do you make a deal with the Dominion?"

</div> Captain Bran turned toward Benedict and bowed his head slightly in the form of a greeting, "You know how cruel the Dominion is, Young Lord Benedict. Do you think they will spare my life if they catch me?"
 "Then what about this nonsense!? A thousand elite soldiers defeat tens of thousands of soldiers? Do you expect me to believe your nonsense? You should come with a better lie if you want to lure us out of the city, traitor!" Young Lord Benedict sneered at Captain Bran.
 At the same time, the opened gate slowly closed down again. Not just Benedict, but no one believes in what Bran said. They wanted to believe it because it meant there would be no war in the capital, but it was just simply impossible to believe.
 Despite the accusation, Captain Bran kept his composure, "If the Dominion really wanted to make a deal, they would make a deal with another beastmen, not a human like me. They might spare a God Rank beastmen for a deal, but I don’t think they would make a deal with a God Rank human like me. You know how much the Dominion despised us, humans. Do you think they would make a deal with me instead of Roi, Parada, Davi, Furman, or Otho?"
 Those five names were the God Rank beastmen in Albin’s force. If the Dominion really wanted to make a deal, they would strike a deal with another beastmen instead of a human. That was what Bran tried to say.
 Benedict clicked his tongue, "They can’t because they died in the battle while you survived. They don’t have a choice but you or maybe another human."
 Captain Bran let out a chuckle instead of getting angrier which turned the situation weirder. Then he said something, something loud enough that most people on the wall heard him.
 "He told me that you guys would try to kill me instead of believing in my story. Everything goes exactly as he said, and that’s why he gave me this."
 He then took out something from his inventory, a corpse to be more exact. It was not just any corpse, but The Dominion Army Commander’s corpse, the infamous Zilgard.
 "What about this then? This is the infamous Zilgard that we know of. The Commander of the Dominion Army that leads the invasion to our land!"</div>
