Chapter 1017: Wedding
Knock!
Knock!
"Who's there?" Kanaria's mother, Vania, opened the door with a curious expression, only to be shocked to find that the person coming at this time was Ezekiel. "Sir Ezekiel?"
"Please be comfortable with me." Ezekiel chuckled. "I'm here to discuss something important. Do you and your husband perhaps have some time to spare?"
"Of course. Please come in." Vania hurriedly let him in, not knowing the reason for the visit.
Ezekiel sat down with a serious expression, looking at Kanaria's parents. "I believe you also want the same thing. I think it's a good time to discuss their marriage."
"Marriage?" Vania was surprised. In the past, she just wanted her daughter to get together with Clovis. Looking at the status of the person in front of her, Vania thought this discussion would lead to Christina taking the position of the main wife.
Hence, Vania's expression turned solemn. She couldn't really fight against the person in front of her. It was understandable to desire the main wife's position.
"Does sir want to ask me to have Christina…" Vania gulped.
She couldn't finish her words, not wanting to offend a Tier 9 human. If Ezekiel made a fuss about it, there was a high chance Clovis would choose the Elseingarde family rather than the Renvolt family. They were simply not on the same level. Even her daughter had surpassed her father, who was a Tier 6 human.
So, Vania planned to just accept whatever he demanded.
It looked like Ezekiel also understood that his arrival would be interpreted in this way.
Surprisingly, Ezekiel stopped her and said, "Of course not. Regarding the main wife position, I don't really have any thoughts about it. I know my granddaughter won't be the main wife. No, it's more accurate that anyone can be the main wife except for my granddaughter."
"!!!" Vania widened her eyes in shock. "Pardon?"
"It looks like no one has explained it to you yet. Well, I'm here now, so I guess I will explain it to you directly." Ezekiel raised two fingers. "You know that Christina is the only successor of the Elseingarde family, right?"
"Yes."
"As such, she will inherit the Elseingarde family in the future. However, it doesn't mean she will leave the Libation Fiesta or Clovis. That's why there is a solution that has been decided and accepted.
"My granddaughter won't be the main wife. This way, my granddaughter or her children won't inherit the Hacfield family or the Libation Fiesta's legacy. Instead, her children will be inheriting the Elseingarde family.
"Thus, the reason why anyone can be the main wife except for her. Clovis and Christina have agreed to this arrangement. So, you don't have to worry about this matter."
"Ah!" Vania didn't know what to say. It looked like she had misunderstood the situation.
There was actually one more person who shared the same intention. It was Hana.
Hana was also the only child of the Skylark family. She would be too busy to take care of the family to the point that she even considered not having the marriage or the children.
But Clovis had made another arrangement and persuaded her. Her children would inherit the Skylark family, but the Libation Fiesta would be helping her take care of her children.
Hana accepted the proposal. Over time, Hana actually changed. Her mind gradually accepted that having a normal family might not be that bad, which was why she shifted her focus to the relationship.
Ezekiel explained, "The real reason I come here is to discuss their marriage. Since they're going to marry Clovis, there is a need for us in-laws to have some discussions.
"After this, I'm going to visit Lucifania's father. Once everything is settled, I'm going to set up a meeting with the Hacfield family. So, I hope you'll be present at that time as well."
Vania covered her mouth in shock. Clovis currently had five women. They were Kanaria, Melody, Hana, Lucifania, and Christina.
His relationship with Rin might be good, but they were not really a couple, or at least that was what it currently seemed.
Among all of them, Melody had lost both her parents, so there were no elders who would represent her.
That left the four of them. Jeremy Skylark would probably be the one discussing Hana's marriage with Clovis.
Once Ezekiel settled the matter with Kanaria's and Luci's families, he could finally discuss it with Michael Hacfield.
"What are we supposed to do?"
"Nothing. I just want you to answer three questions. Do you want them to have a big wedding? Do you want them to have a separate wedding? And do you agree to have them marry the same person?"
Vania was surprised at the three questions, but it looked like they were indeed the most important questions.
Vania looked at her husband, who nodded to her, showing his support for her decision.
Vania took a deep breath before answering, "I have thought about this matter personally. To be honest, a big wedding might not be necessary. At first, I thought it was necessary because it was a symbol.
"But with Clovis' reputation these days, there is no need for such a symbol anymore. Having a small and private wedding might actually benefit us more. It might allow us, the big families, to get to know each other."
Ezekiel smiled. "I'm of the same opinion."
Vania continued, "Regarding the second question, I'm not necessarily bothered by having them marry together. However, I do request that the oath be taken separately. Not all of our families have so much free time to hold the wedding separately. And since it's going to be a private wedding, there is no one who will judge us."
Ezekiel thought for a moment before nodding his head. "I will take that into consideration."
"For the last question, we wouldn't have let our daughter go with him if we hadn't agreed. We had agreed to this one for a very long time, so you don't have to worry about it."
Ezekiel closed his eyes, satisfied with their answers. "I understand. I thank you both for being able to share your insights with me. Still, just because I'm in a position of power, I'm not going to lead the entire process by myself.
"I will invite you two to the group of the big families. We can chat over there to discuss their marriage. The children are working so hard to the point where they don't have time for this, so it's better for us to handle it for them."
"Understood."
Ezekiel nodded. "Thank you. I will take my leave then. Let's meet again with everyone present. We will have a big chat at that time."
"Yes, sir." Vania politely bowed.
