Alpha Marked By A Ruthless Enigma (BL)
Chapter 27 - 26: Going to his house
He went straight back to work. The moment he walked through the entrance, everyone was running around in chaos. Papers scattered. Phones ringing nonstop. The entire floor looked like a war zone.
Julius entered his office and sat down. Sarah rushed in right behind him, her face pale and panicked. "Sir, we have a big problem," Sarah looked worried. Julius looked at her.
His face was calm and completely unbothered. "What is it?" She took a breath and explained quickly. "We were finalizing the stocks when you left."
"Everything was fine. We didn’t know where we went wrong, but suddenly the stocks stopped moving completely. We thought maybe it was just connection issues or server problems."
She paused, then continued. "But then in just a few minutes, the stocks started dropping dramatically. Fast. Too fast. Sir, what should we do?"
In Julius’s mind, one thought came clear. Why are you using business as a personal grudge, Harrison? Julius replied calmly, "You didn’t do anything wrong. It was just unfortunate timing."
While they were still discussing the situation, a manager knocked hard at the door. His voice was urgent "Sir! Sir, can I come in? It’s very urgent!"
"Come in," Julius replied. The manager rushed inside, holding his tablet. "Sir, we need to control this situation right now. It’s already started affecting the contract we just signed with the new company."
Julius looked at him directly. "And if it does affect it?" The manager hesitated. "It will be considered a breach of contract, sir."
"And the penalty for that is not something we can afford right now. It could destroy us." "What should we do, sir?" Sarah asked. Julius’s voice stayed completely calm.
"Try to control the stocks. Freeze them completely if you have to." "But sir, what if—" the manager started. "Leave," Julius said, cutting him off.
The manager left quickly and closed the door behind him. Julius sat there in silence for a moment. Then his phone rang. He checked the screen.
It was his mother. Sarah was still standing near the door, not sure if she should stay or go. "You can leave now," Julius said to her without looking up.
She nodded and walked out, closing the door gently behind her. Julius picked up the call. His mother’s voice came through, angry and cold. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"Are you out of your mind? Why would you meet her at the same time you knew someone was waiting for you?" Julius replied coldly, "The way I’m seeing it, you have more information about my life than I do."
"Something that happened just a few minutes ago—how did you already know about it?" He paused, then asked directly, "Mom, do you know Harrison? Is there any secret between you two that I don’t know about?"
"Because it seems like you know everything before I do." His mother’s voice came back firm. "And if I know, do you really think I’ll tell you?"
"Let me remind you of something, Julius. In anything you do, make sure he doesn’t get angry with you. Because you are his bottom line." She ended the call without saying anything else.
Julius sat there, staring at his phone. Now it was clear to him. Something was going on between himself and Harrison that he didn’t understand. Something bigger than he realized.
Even with all the stock issues happening around him, with his company in crisis, Julius found himself thinking more about Harrison misunderstanding him than about the stocks dropping.
That made him angrier than the stocks dropping. It shouldn’t. He dialed a number and waited. A voice answered on the other end.
"Sir, give us three more days. We’re almost there. The security on Harrison’s side is almost out of this world." "We’ve never seen anything like it."
Julius’s voice turned ice cold. "I’m giving you one more day. If you can’t find anything by then, consider yourself useless." He ended the call and threw his phone onto the desk.
Why do I feel so uneasy? Is something wrong with me? He pressed the button on the landline in his office. "Come to my office."
"Yes, sir." A minute later, Sarah walked back in. "Sir, you called for me?" "How are the stocks now?"
"We blocked them completely like you ordered," She replied. "But it’s still a very big risk. The damage has already started." Julius nodded once.
"Cancel all my appointments for today." Sarah stood there for a second, not moving. "Why are you still here?" Julius asked. "Anything else?"
She hesitated, then spoke carefully. "Sir, I don’t know if this is the right time to say this, but I think VOID Cooperator is trying to manipulate you into signing with them."
"The timing of everything is too perfect." Julius looked at her. Now he understood. They wanted that 10 percent share to create a hole in his company.
"Good work," Julius said. "Block them permanently. No more contact with VOID Cooperator." "Yes, sir." "You can leave now."
She left the office and closed the door. Julius pulled out his phone from his pocket. His thumb hovered over Harrison’s name for a second.
He dialed Harrison’s number and waited. It rang once. Twice. Three times. Then it cut off. No one picked up.
He stared at the screen, frustration building inside him. He tried again. Same thing. The call rang and ended with nothing. No voicemail. No answer. Just silence.
Someone who was always watching, always one step ahead, suddenly felt so far away. Like he had disappeared on purpose.
Julius said to himself quietly, "That bastard enjoys getting on my bad side." He grabbed his coat and opened his office door.
"Get the car ready," he called out. A few minutes later, Sarah opened the car door for him. He got in without a word.
His mind was already racing ahead to what he would say when he arrived. "To where, sir?" She could see the anger on his face.
Julius looked straight ahead, his expression cold. "To that damn human’s house."
