100X Return System: My Talent Awakening Becomes a God-Level Cheat
Chapter 92: Guild Masters Meeting [4]
George had already seen the expressions on the guild masters faces, even that of the chairman and vice chairman.
He was content.
He had made them think above and beyond, and not gotten any answers. And even though they wanted answers, none of them were willing to ask the question.
Except, the Chairman and vice chairman of course. Quincy on the other hand, didn’t look like someone who was thinking at all.
He didn’t stress himself knowing that there was no way he could understand what George had said. In fact, he never actually understands anything George ever says.
Quincy, at this moment was looking at George, in anticipation, expecting him to explain what he had said.
George, knowing that it was time, leaned forward, his hand clasped together.
Before he could speak, the Chairman uttered; "Would you mind telling us?"
Julius was looking at George, their eyes met for a moment, and George gave him an expression of one who was feeling proud.
"Of course," he says, "First of all I will start with how they were captured."
Upon hearing this, the guild masters and the vice chairman all start upright, their attention fully placed on George. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
"This is only between us, and shouldn’t leave this room, "George said, looking at everyone at the table. His gaze shifted to the assistant who was standing at the door.
She was standing alert, ready to move if called upon, her ear, listening to every single word that was spoken in the room.
She had a clipboard in her hand, and wrote down whatever she felt supposed to be documented.
This was her job as the assistant of the chairman. If there was anything that he had missed, she would be the one he would ask, assuming the vice chairman didn’t remember.
But most of the time, she will most break done everything in a summary and give it to the chairman because he had a whole lot of other things that occupy his mind.
George was staring at her just before he spoke, he was about to give them a very top secret information that wasn’t meant to be heard by others, so he had assumed she also shouldn’t be hearing.
However, before he could say anything about her, the chairman spoke out, "And? What is it? Let us hear it..."
The words of the chairman were directed, bringing George’s attention to him. He had left excluding the assistant from the conversion since she was a part of the association top staff.
’I guess it doesn’t matter,’ George thought in his heart. He looked to his belt, to the chairman and began.
"Of course, according to what my guild members that escaped told me, they were captured by monsters."
"Monsters?" the Chairman asked, puzzled
The words that left George’s lips were like a bullet shot from a rifle. It flew out from his lips, and went deep into their eyes.
Everyone in the table all jolted upon hearing these words, except the assistant who was standing, her posture was the same and made little to no reactions.
Although for the others, it was as if they were hearing something out of the ordinary.
Actually, it was out of the ordinary, there was no way they would believe such a thing happening.
"That’s not possible! How can monsters capture awakeners? It’s preposterous!" Julius was furious upon hearing this, his voice so loud that it shocked everyone around him.
"Bro chill..." George uttered, looking confused as the sudden burst of Julius. "You need to allow me to land before you come into inclusion."
The chairman turned to his right looking at Julius with an expression that said he needed to calm down.
The other guild masters also had their own questions, and were struggling not to ask them all right away.
However, from George’s last words, they realized that he hadn’t said everything so they held on for him to finish.
The chairman turned back to George, "Continue..." He said.
George nodded and continued, "Although it was monsters that captured them, they were not doing it of their own accord, someone was giving the orders from behind the scenes."
These words struck everyone, even the Chairman couldn’t take it anymore and wanted to demand for more context, but he had to sustain himself.
However, Julius was already about to burst out again, when his gaze met with George and he suddenly calmed himself down.
"Now I know what you all might be thinking," George continued, "a larger force was in play and I can’t say you are wrong. But, but, it wasn’t what you think it is...."
He said these words and kept quiet for a little while, letting the words sink in, then he continued, but first he giggled.
"I know it might sound weird but even I myself couldn’t understand it when I first heard this. So this would bring me the second question, who did this?"
George continued talking after leaning back to the chair. "We are in luck because they happened to have seen who it was, and what they were doing with the awakeners already captured. I th-"
Before he could finish speaking, Raymond interrupted, making everyone’s gaze land on him, furious. "This person behind the scenes, are they human?" He asked.
Even though they were furious at him interrupting George, it was still a valid question that he had asked, and when he did, everyone’s heads turned back to George waiting for his response.
"Hm, how can I say this now?" George uttered, and he was countered.
"Just spit it out already, you don’t have to make it longer than it should." Julius uttered, his expression filled with curiosity, and anxiety both at once.
George looked at him, then removed his gaze and landed it on Charlotte.
Charlotte, seeing that he was looking at her made her face turn red instantly, her eyes taken away from him and landed on the table.
’Why is she looking at me?’ she thought inwardly.
George didn’t mind it and understood what she had done, he was just casually looking at her, but seeing that she took her gaze away, he also removed his and landed it on the back at Raymond.
"Ir wasn’t a human, at least not our kind..." everyone was perplexed by his words, they didn’t understand what he meant so he had to add a little more, "it was a dwarfs!"
