100X Return System: My Talent Awakening Becomes a God-Level Cheat
Chapter 91: Guild Masters Meeting [3]
"Captured?! What do you mean captured?" The chairman asked, very curious.
The other guild masters, the vice chairman, and even the assistant of the chairman all had a very curious and perplexed expressions.
They couldn’t even if they tried, understand what he meant by his last sentence.
Many thoughts crossed their minds on speculation, but they couldn’t get to anywhere.
All of what he said caught their attention, but the most that he said was how it was related and who saved them.
For them, it was impossible to think there is an explanation to anything.
Raymond was looking confused, in his heart the thought.
’How it is related to us? That doesn’t make sense, we are the victims here so what does he mean by ’how it’s related to us?’ Tch, this old man why wouldn’t he make his word understandable? Why make us think hard about it.’
Raymond shifted his gaze to George, his hood and the mask that was covering his face, made him look like a ninja out on a mission to kill.
And with his sharp gaze on George it was as if George was the target. He was near, and was calculating the ways in which he could execute his plan.
However, that wasn’t the case. Raymond was looking at George because he knew what kind of person George was.
At this current moment, George lips had curved up to a slight smile, like he was enjoying the moment.
He had dropped a bomb, that is his sentence, and didn’t say anything again, leaving everyone to dig deep into their thoughts, to try and decode his words.
Although, he knew that would be impossible for them to do. The information that he was about to disclose, was only him who had such information.
George closed his eyes thinking in his heart, ’Hm... Nyra had told me all that had happened in the abyss, from the beginning to the end, and from what she said, it looks like I am the only one who knows about it. The other awakeners that were with them, were not part of any guilds, so it is unlikely a report would have reached the other guild masters.’
This was indeed obvious, and he was certain about it from the expressions that the guild masters were making.
Even the Chairman and vice chairman didn’t seem to know about it also.
’The most important information, didn’t even reach the most important people?’ George was feeling himself at this point.
’To them it’s probably just a normal abyss raid, there was nothing special about it. Which is why they wouldn’t be able to understand my words.’
George, who at this moment, was relaxed on his seat, his legs crossed together, his built physique swallowing the whole chair, opened his eyes.
Out of everyone seated on the table, including the chairman, he was the biggest. His body making him giant-like to the others who were small compared to his size.
It wasn’t that the others were small or their statue was not normal, it was actually the other way around.
Julius and Charlotte were 6 ’2 foot tall, while the other three guild masters were barely reaching their height, around 6 ’1 to 5’11.
They were not small indeed, it was George who was the abnormal one.
He is 6 ’6 a very tall individual, and his huge body making him look like a monster among men.
Forget his aura, his presence alone was enough to intimidate people, random awakeners when they see him, think there is a monster in the building.
However, he was barely thirty years old. His status and his beard made him look old, but in reality it was still in his youth days.
George caught the gaze of Raymond looking at him. The gaze like a hunter wanting to catch his prey.
But that isn’t the case. Who is supposed to be the prey here?
George?
George’s smile widened knowing that Raymond’s head was probably filled with all the speculations he could think of, and yet arrived at nothing.
In Raymond’s heart, it was actually what was going on, ’This is ridiculous! There’s no way I can get it only from just thinking.’ He noticed the extended smile on George’s face. ’why?... This dude, is he making a joke out of me?’
It wasn’t only him that was feeling this way, Charlotte, who was behind him, couldn’t also get to a conclusion.
In her heart, she was thinking of the words that didn’t catch most of them, ’how were they captured in the first place? Awakeners are supposed to be strong warriors fighting off monsters, and are most strong when in a group.’
’So how it to that a whole group would go missing without a trace or without a single arms of coming back, is there a larger force in play here? Hold on....’ her gaze now, was shifted to George, but she made it so that he wouldn’t notice she was staring at him.
’He just said that his own guild members came back? Did they fight their way through? That would mean that they were able to defeat whatever took them, assuming a larger focus kidnapped them.’
Within her heart she chuckled, ’What is it that I am thinking? Awakeners being kidnapped inside the Abyss? Never heard of such a thing, is it monsters that would kidnap them?’
Charlotte was amazed by how her own thoughts had gone far, but she couldn’t or wouldn’t want believe that awakeners are being kidnapped inside the Abyss.
It would answer her question of there being a larger force at hand, and if there was, what were they doing with the kidnap awakeners?
There were a lot of awakeners that are announced missing, so what are they doing with all of them?
These are the kind of thoughts that Charlotte would be having in her head assuming she believed that awakeners are being kidnapped.
However, she chose not to believe that. To be on the safer side, is always the best.
She continued, ’Maybe I am wrong, or right, I don’t know. It could be true, but who am I to say?’ her gaze was still on George.
’It looks like I have dulled a little. Since I became a guild master I have never had the chance to go back to the abyss, if this keeps up I wouldn’t be able to get to S-rank at all.
Charlotte still didn’t want George to know that she was looking at him. It wasn’t because of fear of some kind, but rather a whole other emotion.
All the while she had been looking at him and thinking, her heart had been beating very fast, threatening to jump outside.
Her face was red, her cheeks looking swollen by her sudden redness, yet her radiant beauty was unweaving.
Her expression was still composed even while her heart raced and her face turned red.
Suddenly, she took her gaze away from him in a flash, her right hand meeting her chest, ’Goodness, what was I thinking? Why is my heart beating so fast?’
George had noticed the sudden movement of her head. When she was looking at him earlier, he didn’t realize it, until she shifted her gaze.
’I can’t be thinking about him now, not in this situation.’ Charlotte was trying to get herself together when her eyes uncontrollably moved from George, and at that moment her eyes met his.
Charlotte seeing this, instantly removed her gaze, her heart racing even more than ever. She didn’t know what to do, or why she was feeling like that, yet for some reason a rough idea came to her heart.
’Could I be in...?’ she thought, not wanting to complete the thought.
George was still looking at her while he thought in his heart, ’What is wrong with her? Is she okay or something? Am I the only one that notices her face is red? Is she trying too hard to get an answer from my words that she’s flustered? Hehe...’
While all this was going on, the most important questions was repeated over and over again in Julius heard.
How they got out safe?
In his heart he thought, ’He says it like it was an easy task. If they had been captured then it would mean that a much stronger entity was able to take that number of awakeners, yet a few of them survived? How? Was it their skills?’
Julius shook his head in his thoughts, ’There is no way. They wouldn’t have had enough strength to fight off against whatever had taken them. It doesn’t make any sense, or am I the one thinking of it the wrong way?"
Julius was a smart individual. He is known for his strategic thinking and calculations which was one of the reasons he was able to get the role of being a guild master.
Yet, even with all that, he was still inferior, at least that was what he was feeling. ’How can I not be able to understand the truth behind its meaning?’
At this moment, his own gaze landed on George, ’This bastard, he left something out. There’s no way this is the full gist, what could he also be hiding!’
Julius had thought of everything he could, but as he was currently looking at George he thought of the second words George had spoken.
’How it relates to us. Hold on, did he mean? No way... does he know about it?’
