World Evolution Apocalypse: I Possess The Extraction Ability
Chapter 105: Unwelcomed Change
After taking a shower in the bathroom, Leon realized they had been quite lucky since the apocalypse started. None of the places they stayed had ever had water issues, and therefore, everyone felt like it was completely normal.
This made him sigh in his heart as he realized the Star Stream’s observation of him was somewhat correct. He was really lucky.
’Hm?’
Smelling a fresh scent, he turned to the side and noticed Thyra standing by the window. The sexy demon was as beautiful as ever, but Leon was already accustomed to her beauty. At least, he believed he was.
What truly stunned him was that she had changed her dress. Instead of the regal one-piece gown that seemed to hug her perfect figure, Thyra was wearing something more... modern.
She was clad in a form-fitting black gown that merely reached halfway to her knees. Usually, her one-piece gown was one that would cover her whole body completely.
However, this time, her smooth, slender arms were completely exposed, and Leon couldn’t stop his gaze from lowering to her smooth, toned thighs that were begging to be caressed.
Feeling his gaze on her, Thyra tried to read his mind through his expression. However, she failed to glimpse a single thing.
Even though Leon was staring intensely, she couldn’t guess what he was thinking. And the fact that she couldn’t read him made her uneasy.
Usually, anyone who sees her in this state would either be mesmerized, lovestruck, filled with lust, or stare with feigned indifference.
’First time I can’t tell what he’s thinking. So mysterious~’
She pulled down the hem of her gown, leaned forward slightly, and brought a finger to her lips.
"Eh~? Little Leon, could it be that you’ve been completely charmed by your big sister?"
Finally, her voice seemed to wake the young man as he raised his gaze to meet hers. He tilted his head, then spoke smoothly.
"You’ve been growing bolder, Thyra. When did you take a liking to Earth’s fashion?"
Seeing that he had ignored her question, the sexy demon pouted and straightened her back.
"Muu, what do you mean? This dress looks nice, and I thought you might love seeing me in it."
Leon was flabbergasted, and he barely restrained blood from flowing into his cheeks. Maintaining his composure, he cleared his throat and nodded.
"Hm, it’s surely a feast for the eyes."
He even pulled a confident smirk, then turned around to dress up.
Thyra giggled behind him, a faint blush crossing her cheeks. She hadn’t expected such sincere praise like that, and surprisingly, she liked it.
’Ah... he’s really different, isn’t he? Could it be... him?’
Instantly, she shook her head and discarded such thoughts. It would be too presumptuous to start assuming such a thing.
After putting on a shirt and a pair of trousers, Leon turned to her, his expression calm.
"I’ll be heading downstairs, and I don’t want you to follow me."
This statement surprised Thyra, and she involuntarily asked in surprise, "Why? I’m a ghost, remember? They can’t see me."
Tearing his gaze off her waist, he rubbed his nose and said in a subdued tone.
"It’s not that. It’s just... I might be distracted during an important conversation."
"Ah...?"
Thyra took a moment to understand him, then a radiant smile bloomed on her lips.
"Aw~ To actually admit that, big sister is impressed."
She sat on the bed and crossed her legs, causing the hem of the gown to shift back slightly.
Leon’s eyes sharpened, and he hurriedly looked away.
"Off you go, then~" She giggled, waving him off with her dainty fingers.
Leon stepped out of the room and sighed in his heart, ’Somehow, I feel like I’ve made a disastrous roommate.’
To his satisfaction, the hallway was properly cleaned, and the air smelled fresh.
’Looks like those guys did a good job.’
Pocketing his hands, he descended from the stairs and came to the living room on the ground floor. Unlike what he expected, there were quite a few people there, casually chatting while watching the sunset through the windows.
Reymond glanced at him, a smile on his lips.
"Hey, Leon. You’re finally awake. I was just considering coming to wake you up."
Leon gave him a nod, then shifted his gaze to the others. Selene, Gwen, Miguel, Richard, and Cassie.
Perhaps not everyone had noticed it, but after becoming evolvers, everyone had grown in terms of beauty. Selene had grown even more beautiful. Her milky white skin looked more radiant than ever, and even Leon couldn’t help but let his gaze linger for two seconds.
Then, his gaze shifted to Gwen. Although not as beautiful as Selene even before the apocalypse, the brown-haired girl had a strange charm to her. She possessed an innate seductive body, which deeply contrasted her pure and innocent personality. It was precisely this contrast that made her someone desirable for any man.
As for Miguel, the blonde guy had grown burlier, his toned arms wrestling against the sleeves of his shirt. His jawline was more defined, and he looked pleasing to the eyes.
Richard was the same, though his physical growth wasn’t as exaggerated as Miguel’s. Instead, he retained his youthful and scholarly aura, looking even more refined than usual.
Finally, there was Cassie—his weird subordinate. Leon had always felt that something was wrong with this girl, but he couldn’t put his finger on it. Even now, he didn’t know what exactly felt odd about her. Although the girl wasn’t as pretty as Selene or Gwen who were top beauties on campus, she still had her own charm as a woman.
Leon made these quick observations in less than fifteen seconds, then stopped. Exhaling through his lips, he sat in a lone chair and rested his chin on his palm.
"I believe we have things to discuss, no?"
Reymond’s smile dimmed, and he nodded. "We do. A lot to discuss."
The lively atmosphere dropped instantly, and the grim realization of their current situation settled upon them.
Their goal had been to travel to the southwest, but now, they had been forced to the east. It was a complete reversal of events.
An unwelcomed change that would influence their future plans.
