With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods
Chapter 1460: Based on your skill level
When he arrived at the station, Lin Fan found that everything had already been prepared for him.
Since this was a trial for the weapon forging hall, it was only natural that it would be a test of his forging skill. Which was why there was a blueprint and materials to be used in the forging that was on the table in front of him.
With the newly obtained knowledge that he possessed, Lin Fan was able to read this blueprint and figure out what he needed to do.
Though when it came to his skills, he certainly was still a beginner that had obtained only a bit of knowledge. It didn’t seem like he would be able to do anything special with just the bit of skill that he possessed.
Even so, Lin Fan wasn’t worried as he waited for something to trigger.
When it didn’t trigger, that was when he started to worry.
"System, where’s the guidance system? There should be a guidance system for weapon forging as well."
Even when he called out the system like this, it didn’t seem like there was a response from it. The only thing that answered him was pure silence from the system, as if it was ignoring him.
Without the system, Lin Fan certainly wouldn’t have been able to do the same thing as before.
He needed the guidance system to be able to stand a chance of passing this trial.
It was just that no matter what Lin Fan said, it didn’t seem like the system was reacting at all. It was as if the system was just playing dead to avoid giving him an answer.
A bitter feeling filled Lin Fan when the system acted this way, but it wasn’t as if there was anything that he could do. If the system just didn’t want to help him, then it wasn’t as if he could force it to do so.
So the only thing that Lin Fan could do was start forging the weapon on his own.
He was at least able to start doing this since he had obtained the knowledge from the skills that had exchanged for.
Though as he was doing this, he could hear someone from above.
It was the same as the alchemy hall trial where those that weren’t taking the trial were allowed to watch the trial happening. That meant that Xiao Mu and Ye Qing Huan were watching him from the stands above.
Ye Qing Huan certainly wouldn’t say anything, which meant that it was Xiao Mu who was speaking.
The moment that he started the forging process, Xiao Mu started criticizing everything that he was doing. It was as if there wasn’t a single thing that he could do that would satisfy Xiao Mu.
But then again, it only made sense that this was the case since Xiao Mu had knowledge that was beyond my own.
It was Xiao Mu’s way of complaining since it hadn’t been allowed to take the trial even though it had all that knowledge.
Lin Fan knew that his technique was terrible, but there was nothing that he could do since he didn’t know how to make it better.
That was until the system finally came back to life.
"Guidance system has been activated."
Once this rang out in his mind, there were the same instructions as before that appeared. Though these ones were tailored to suit forging weapons instead of refining pills.
As soon as he saw this, Lin Fan didn’t hesitate to follow the instructions that appeared in front of him.
The moment that he did this, the jeers from the gallery also stopped.
After all, it was quite easy for Xiao Mu to see through the actions of Lin Fan. As soon as he started following the guidance of the system, Xiao Mu could see that there wasn’t a single thing to jeer about.
It was a textbook example of how weapon refining should be.
In fact, there were even a few things that Lin Fan was doing that Xiao Mu couldn’t understand.
"How did he suddenly change like this?" Xiao Mu asked in a confused voice.
For an AI to admit that there was something that it didn’t understand, it really had to be something special.
However, Ye Qing Huan didn’t have this awareness since she didn’t know much about AI to begin with.
The only thing that she said was, "He’s always full of surprises."
After she said this, there was this faint smile that appeared on her face as she watched Lin Fan doing his forging.
A strange feeling filled Xiao Mu seeing this, but it wasn’t as if this was a bad feeling. Xiao Mu didn’t say anything as it just looked at Lin Fan.
During this time, it was hard to tell what it was thinking.
As Lin Fan followed the instructions, he found that he was learning more and more about weapon refining. This was the same situation that happened when he had followed the system’s guidance on how to refine pills.
Since the guidance system was providing him with the perfect example of how things should be, it meant that he was able to learn all of the different tricks that went into making this the perfect example.
It wasn’t as if he could understand everything with his limited knowledge, but he did gain quite a bit from this experience. There was no doubt that he was slowly becoming a much more skilled weapon forger.
But halfway through the forging process, he couldn’t help pausing all of a sudden.
"This is..." Lin Fan thought to himself as he watched the guidance in front of him.
The first part of the forging process had been to refine the materials that had been given to him, so it wasn’t as if that was that complicated of a process. Lin Fan was able to follow the instructions without any problem since it was actually considered quite simple.
It was just that the second part of this process was the actual forging part that required him to swing a hammer to further refine the materials that he had broken down.
The problem was the technique that the guidance system had chosen for this process.
"Are you sure that this is correct?" Lin Fan had to ask the system this question when he saw the lines that were in front of him.
Simply put, there were too many lines.
A normal hammering might only have a few lines to follow, but this one had eighty one lines exactly. That was because it corresponded with one of the techniques that Lin Fan had exchanged for.
It was a technique that he thought was interesting and he treated himself to as a treat.
It was a technique that he remembered from his past life, though it had a different name now.
The technique was called the "Eighty One Wind Hammers".
A part of Lin Fan couldn’t even help thinking that this was some kind of copyright infringement, but then again this was a different world.
But now, the system was guiding him to use this technique in his weapon forging.
"The guidance system draws on the best technique. The higher the level of skill, that will be the technique that is chosen."
"Then for the other refinement..."
The system didn’t say anything, but that silence was more than enough to answer this question. There was a part of him that couldn’t help feeling regret after hearing this since he had missed out on an opportunity earlier.
If he had chosen some of the higher level techniques when he had been refining the pill, then he would have been able to receive guidance on those techniques. They certainly would have served him better than the basic techniques that he exchanged for.
Even now, there was a bit of regret over this weapon forging process.
If he had chosen a higher level refining technique, then it would have served him better than this basic level refining technique.
It really all depended on what he chose and he had been cheap in his choices.
But there was nothing that he could do since he had already made his decision.
In the end, there was no use crying over spilt milk.
Since he had gotten the answer that he wanted, there was no need for him to think about this any longer.
Lin Fan emptied his mind and raised the hammer before bringing it down. As he brought it down, the expression on his face showed just how focused he was on this process.
After all, it wasn’t easy to follow those eighty one lines perfectly.
"What is this technique?"
Xiao Mu wasn’t the only one that was shocked when it saw Lin Fan swinging his hammer like that. Even the flame figure that was in charge of the trial couldn’t help being shocked by this.
But none of that distracted Lin Fan from his hammer swings.
While this was happening, the way that Xiao Mu looked at Lin Fan changed.
It seemed like it was slowly losing the envy that it felt towards Lin Fan previously and this was being replaced with admiration. After all, Lin Fan was using something that just wasn’t in its database, but it knew that this was an amazing technique with all the information about weapon refining that it had.
The negative feelings that it had previously towards Lin Fan was being replaced with positive ones as it was surprised like Ye Qing Huan said it would be.
A man really was the most charming when he was focused.
