Chapter 1459: The difference in intelligence

There wasn’t a single person in this place.

It seemed like Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan were the first ones to arrive in this place.

Though the reason why was different from what they thought.

"This isn’t a place that could be accessed normally. One needs a certain level of authority before coming to this place. However, I do possess that authority so I could bring you all in." Xiao Mu was the one that said this.

But when Lin Fan heard this, it was hard for him to believe it.

With how Xiao Mu acted around him, it really was hard for him to believe that it would bring him in if there was a restriction keeping them out of this place.

This was later confirmed by Xiao Sheng who told him that it was the one that brought him in. Though the way that Xiao Sheng said this wasn’t to take credit, it was that it wanted to show off.

In a way, it seemed like Xiao Sheng was threatened by Xiao Mu.

Lin Fan figured that it would be something like this since he had seen the way that Xiao Mu treated him.

But for now, he didn’t say anything since they still needed Xiao Mu.

The fact that Xiao Mu could do this was already something that he had to take note of. There was no telling what other kind of things Xiao Mu would be able to do to help them, so it wasn’t as if it was worth it to cause friction over this small matter.

The pavilion that was in front of them didn’t seem like anything special once again, but they knew that it wouldn’t be as simple as it seemed.

It was very likely that there was something that was blocking their spiritual sense right now, preventing them from finding anything out about the pavilion. Which would be just like any other pavilion that was in this place.

"What is this place?" Ye Qing Huan asked Xiao Mu, though it wasn’t as if she had been expecting anything.

"This is the weapon forging hall, which is why it’s hidden away unlike the other places."

It was surprising that Xiao Mu actually knew what this place was, but that wasn’t all that Xiao Mu knew.

Xiao Mu continued on to give a more detailed introduction to this place, only it didn’t really mean anything to Lin Fan or Ye Qing Huan. After all, the information that Xiao Mu was giving them was something related to the past Dao Sect.

That past Dao Sect had long disappeared and most of those people were gone.

The one thing that Ye Qing Huan was interested in was, "Who was the head of this weapon forging hall in the past?"

When Ye Qing Huan asked this, Xiao Mu didn’t waste any time in giving her that information. It was just that Ye Qing Huan eventually had to raise her hand to stop Xiao Mu since it wouldn’t stop giving that information.

It was like a constant stream of information that just made Ye Qing Huan’s brain spin.

So she stopped Xiao Mu, who looked disappointed that she was stopping it.

It looked like Xiao Mu wanted to give more information, but Ye Qing Huan just said, "Let’s see if we can find our way inside first."

Since Ye Qing Huan had spoken, Xiao Mu just followed behind her.

It didn’t take long for them to find the way in, but it also wasn’t that easy for them to get anything out of this place.

After all, this place had the same thing as the other pavilions that they had gone to.

As soon as they walked in, they found that there was another flame that was waiting there for them.

It wasn’t just alchemists alone that used Heaven and Earth Flames, they were also used when it came to forging weapons. Which was why there was another Heaven and Earth Flame that appeared once they stepped into the pavilion.

It took the same form as Xiao Sheng had in the past and just stared at them.

Even though it was a Heaven and Earth Flame, it seemed like it had been caught off guard by the lineup that it saw.

There was no need to guess to know that what surprised this Heaven and Earth Flame the most was Xiao Mu. It was clear that it recognized Xiao Mu as a training dummy even though there was a cloak hiding it.

But in the end, the Heaven and Earth Flame just acted naturally as it said, "Which one of you will be taking the trial?"

Ye Qing Huan didn’t say anything as she turned to look at Lin Fan.

Lin Fan also knew that it was his turn to step forward, though he had waited just in case Ye Qing Huan had any abilities when it came to weapon forging. But based on how she turned this opportunity to him, it didn’t seem like she did have any knowledge about weapon forging.

Only before Lin Fan could step forward, Xiao Mu actually stepped forward to say, "I’ll take the trial."

It was just that the response that came was, "You’re not qualified."

"Why?" Xiao Mu seemed indignant when it heard this.

It started giving off many different theories about weapon crafting as if it was trying to prove itself to the flame figure. But no matter what Xiao Mu said, it seemed like the flame figure was just ignoring it.

All that the flame figure did was insist that Xiao Mu wasn’t qualified to take the trial.

With the way that they argued, it was as if there was this difference in intelligence that formed.

Lin Fan couldn’t help giving a secret bitter laugh while listening to this.

Xiao Mu was an AI that the Dao Sect had given a database to draw on, which meant that all of the knowledge that it possessed was most likely given to it by the Dao Sect.

Which meant that this difference in intelligence was something that belonged to the Dao Sect in the first place and it was why it couldn’t take this trial. Using something from the Dao Sect to take a trial left by the Dao Sect, it really seemed a bit ironic and redundant.

So it only made sense that the flame figure told Xiao Mu that it couldn’t take this trial.

While Xiao Mu was feeling indignant over this matter, Lin Fan gave a look at Ye Qing Huan.

It wasn’t as if Ye Qing Huan hadn’t noticed that Xiao Mu was treating her differently and she was Xiao Mu’s master. So she knew that if there was someone that would be able to distract Xiao Mu and stop this tantrum, it would be her.

"Alright, there’s no point arguing about this with them."

"No, this is a matter of pride at this point."

Lin Fan was surprised that Xiao Mu would be able to say that.

After all, it was an AI that had developed self awareness not that long ago and it wasn’t as if it was complete self awareness yet. So the fact that Xiao Mu was able to talk about things like pride already was definitely much too fast.

Lin Fan couldn’t help wondering just where the Dao Sect had gotten this AI from and what function it had served previously.

If he had to guess, this was most likely some kind of military tech...

In the end, Ye Qing Huan was able to calm Xiao Mu down. Though it wasn’t as if Xiao Mu had completely calmed down, it was more that Ye Qing Huan had to drag Xiao Mu away from the flame figure.

Once Xiao Mu was pulled away, Lin Fan stepped forward to say, "I’ll take the trial."

This time, the flame figure didn’t stop him.

The flame figure just waved a hand similar to what Xiao Sheng did in the past and a door was open for Lin Fan.

Looking through it, he could see that this led to a place that was similar to the one that he faced when he undertook the alchemy hall trial. It was just that this station was a forge that was set up to create weapons.

After all, there was another cheat that he could rely on to help him during this trial.

It was also the reason that he was so confident in facing this trial.

But then he couldn’t help pausing for a second when he heard this.

"This is clearly discrimination, only humans are allowed to take this trial."

"Wasn’t this supposed to be a smart AI? Why would it say something like this that just reveals its identity like that?" Lin Fan thought in a bitter voice, but he chose to ignore it in the end since he figured that the flame figure already knew this.

If it didn’t, then there was no reason for the flame figure to deny Xiao Mu from participating in the trial.

"It’s just like a child...is it because it just developed self awareness?"

If that was the case, it could be justified why Xiao Mu was acting this way...
