Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon? - Chapter 880 - 582: Father-Daughter Rivalry...Probably?
When Luluwo was taken away by the guards of the Warrior Country, she felt anxious inside.
When she was granted an audience with Prince Lanle and reached a collaboration with him, Luluwo was completely in a daze.
It wasn’t until she was well-fed and cared for and received the first commission from Lanle that Luluwo finally came back to her senses.
"Our experiences these past few days have been quite extraordinary."
Tami genuinely exclaimed, "At first, I thought we were going to be executed."
"Don’t say such ominous things." Luluwo gently chopped the top of his head with her hand and looked at everyone, saying:
"Although I’m not entirely sure why, this prince obviously values our abilities. Since he has commissioned us to investigate, let’s do a good job."
She clenched her fist and raised it high, a habitual gesture to boost morale, and passionately shouted:
"Let’s leave our legend in this country too!"
Usually, after shouting this, everyone would get excited and join in with a couple of shouts.
However, this time...
"Hooray!" Tami waved his fist and joined in with excitement, but there was a silent feeling behind him, and he turned around to look.
Whether it was Berto, Mila, or the others, they all looked satisfied and at ease, patting their bellies and sprawling comfortably on the high-end sofa in the guest room.
"...."
Apparently, because the people assigned by Lanle had pampered them too much these past few days, they had become totally lazy, having everything handed to them, and everyone had visibly turned into couch potatoes.
Luluwo was furious.
"Hey, get up quickly. How can you call yourselves a strategy group with this attitude? You’re disgracing adventurers—"
"Knock, knock, knock."
Just as her scoldings hadn’t yet escalated into a louder outburst, there was a knock on the door. Her temper flared, and she said irritably: "Who is it, come in!"
Like a little kitten puffing out air at a stranger when angry.
"Then I shall come in."
A somewhat familiar old man’s voice came from outside the door, and he pushed the door open in response.
So familiar, but she couldn’t recall who it was. Which old man did they know?
When she saw who it was, all her anger, about to erupt like a volcanic breakthrough, immediately turned into a deflated balloon, and she timidly greeted:
"Hello, Sword Saint...."
The visitor was none other than Sword Saint Gapar.
Luluwo didn’t dare breathe out anymore because the person before her was someone who could seriously use a portable charger to dangle her around.
The moment Gapar stepped into the room, everyone felt a dreadful pressure from being watched by someone superior, and they all stood up with a swish, greeting him respectfully and even nervously.
"There’s no need to be so restrained when you see me, just be at ease."
Over these days, Gapar had seemingly become more affable and kind, perhaps because his great vendetta had been avenged, and the sharp aura that could harm from merely being near him had diminished significantly.
"And haven’t I told you? No need to call me master, just call me teacher like Leon does, as I did teach you a move or two."
We might not dare to... Luluwo said inwardly.
In the past, the Skyrim Strategy Group had met Sword Saint Gapar through Leon; though they weren’t close, they at least had an acquaintance relationship. Just that, looking at the situation, it was indeed hard to call him "teacher."
This form of address originated from an invasion incident.
Even someone like Leon would occasionally invade or be idle to relax, let alone Luluwo. Just that, she had some bad luck, often invading strange fellows.
Including but not limited to mysterious hooded men, the mysterious Dark Moon Sword, discreet expert teams wandering the Dungeon, and.... Gapar.
Who knows why this supposedly retired old guy would sneakily roam around Sain Dungeon!
And all these coincidences fell to Luluwo.
After being spun around like a top by Gapar a few times, Luluwo had completely lost her spirit and almost gave up this invasion pastime, maybe even Gapar himself couldn’t stand it and gave her some pointers during one invasion.
Afterward, it evolved into Luluwo "shamelessly" bringing the whole strategy group’s problems to seek Gapar’s advice. Even though Tami and others hadn’t mostly met Gapar offline, they had received much guidance and favors, an indebtedness hard to repay.
"Gapar... teacher, what brings you here?" Luluwo asked with a look of an honest child.
"I’m compiling the combat skills of this country, as some matters always require capable people to handle them." Gapar said peacefully, complimenting himself in passing.
Good, personality-wise, he’s still the same old Gapar; that part hasn’t changed one bit.
"Wow, sounds amazing." Tami’s eyes sparkled, as if seeing his idol.
"But why did you think of finding us?"
Faced with Luluwo’s question, Gapar smiled and said, "You’ve caused such a big stir; it’s hard not to notice you all."
His words left no room for rebuttal; everyone lowered their heads and blushed.
"But I do have something to discuss with you."
He sat down on the sofa, and Tami went ahead of Luluwo to make tea with warm water, serving attentively. After all, he had also benefited greatly from Gapar’s teachings.
"Have you heard about next month’s War Festival?" Gapar sipped his tea, ready to say something, but then saw everyone with puzzled expressions, so he had to explain:
"Simply put, during that festival, a lot of complex and troublesome things will happen, but ultimately, everything is decided by fists at the festival. Unfortunately, I have a share in those troublesome matters as well."
He didn’t hold back, and said directly:
"I have agreed to a competition with my daughter Uffie. Each of us will send out our prized disciples to compete. We hadn’t decided on when to do it before, but now it’s just right to fight during the War Festival. However, I’m a bit short on people on my side, so..."
He looked at Luluwo and glanced at Tami, who was happy just standing next to him, and said:
"Are you two interested in really calling me ’teacher’?"
The surprise came too suddenly; this kind of thing is truly rare.
With these words, there was no need to consider further, and the two answered directly.
"Teacher!" x2 The loud voices rang out on the spot.
Even Tami learned from Luluwo the essence of seizing the moment, and the two of them simultaneously shouted "Teacher" at the venue.
Others looked on with envy and were happy for them, and Berto led the applause.
"Clap Clap Clap Clap—"
"Great," Gapar said with a laugh, stroking his beard, "I’ll go have a word with Lanle and ask him to give you fewer tasks. When you have free time, come find me. I’m just collecting Combat Skills around Black Stone City these days."
"Yes!" x2
After seeing off Gapar, Tami and Luluwo exchanged glances and couldn’t hold it in any longer, bursting into laughter.
What happened just now felt like a dream. Were they really chosen by the Sword Saint to become disciples? Even the wildest daydream couldn’t compare to this!
"Tami, I’ve recently learned a few moves that I’m not entirely clear on. Do you want to..." Mila hooked her arm around Tami’s shoulder and leaned in.
"Captain, can we use this to promote our strategy as a selling point? Our business card titles can be increased again?" Berto had already taken out pen and paper.
"Don’t be so hasty, calm down."
The group celebrated for quite a while before Luluwo waved her hand, asking everyone to calm down for a moment.
"I know Gapar’s arrival is thrilling, but the matters concerning Prince Lanle mustn’t be delayed. We still need to prove our strength and value with tangible achievements, otherwise, we’ll lose the hard-earned opportunity with the Prince."
Luluwo quickly calmed down in the face of business, weighed the priorities, and reached a conclusion.
"The immediate task is to gather intelligence on Galide. If we ask the Prince, he probably will—"
Before she finished speaking, the door was knocked again.
"What’s up, did you forget something, teacher?" Luluwo ran over to open the door.
However, standing outside was a majestic young girl with flowing white hair, looking at her strangely and saying: "Teacher?"
Luluwo looked at the white-haired girl, blinked dumbly, and suddenly called out: "Uffie!"
"You know me?" Uffie smiled. "Am I really that famous?"
I know you purely because of Gapar, don’t underestimate my intelligence network.
But intuitively, Luluwo knew this was not a reason she should mention, so she stepped aside to let Uffie in, without excessive small talk, and asked directly: "Why would the Sword Saint’s daughter come to find us?"
They had just seen the Sword Saint, and now another famous person was here. Everyone was feeling pretty unfazed by the big names they were encountering today. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Uffie saw this and complimented: "You’re not excited upon seeing me, your qualities are indeed as Prince Lanle said."
"Do you know His Highness the Prince?"
Luluwo asked, thinking: Why does it seem like this person hasn’t met Gapar? Did they miss each other?
She remembered hearing that rumors outside suggested the relationship between the Sword Saint and his daughter was not very good, but recently there were rumors that the two were adventuring together in the Sain Dungeon, clearly getting along, which was perplexing.
"We’ve known each other for a long time, and this time it’s because of him that I’m here to find you guys."
Uffie noticed the empty table and the solitary cup of tea, felt odd but continued: "He asked me to assist you. If you’re going to Galide, I’ll go with my companions too. However, I think this sort of thing should be discussed with you."
So the Prince sent his helpers.
Luluwo inexplicably felt relieved, exchanged quick eye contact with her companions, and responded: "Of course, we’re more than happy to have you."
"That’s great, I thought adventurers would refuse outsiders meddling in their team."
Uffie openly surveyed Luluwo, nodded approvingly, and glanced at everyone else, feeling satisfied.
"Are you...?" Luluwo felt an inexplicable sense of premonition.
"Did you hear about next month’s War Festival?" Uffie asked.
Everyone nodded in recognition, having heard about it from Gapar.
"Simply put, there will be a lot of people fighting each other there at that time. Coincidentally, I also have a match with my dad that will be played there, but I’m still short on participants."
At this point, everyone sensed something was amiss.
Uffie sincerely extended an invitation to the Skyrim Strategy Group
"Would you like to join me in the competition? There’s a chance to defeat the legendary Sword Saint, and the rewards are ample. Anything you can imagine, I can try to get for you."
After a moment, she tilted her head.
"Why aren’t you saying anything?"
"Wait, why are you holding back laughter?"
