Villain's Path System
Chapter 123: Lessons from the Shameless Master PT 6
Standing at his position in the triangle formation, Lucian subtly moved his finger.
A faint shimmer of light traced through the air — completely invisible to Myra, but crystal clear to both girls as they felt a soft pulse across their vision, accompanied by a glowing message.
[I have a good plan. Keep going, and do not hold back...]
Sera’s eyes flickered once in understanding, while Elira simply gave a subtle nod.
Then, without a shred of hesitation, both girls lunged forward once again, unleashing a relentless barrage of wild sword strikes and brutal fist combos.
Myra’s expression didn’t flicker in the slightest. Still sitting casually on the flat stone, she effortlessly dodged everything thrown at her. Unable to contain her frustration any longer, Sera let out a fierce roar and slashed her sword straight through the stone chair, shattering it completely to pieces.
Yet, Myra simply stood up smoothly, not having moved her feet a single inch from her original spot. Even when a strike looked like it had directly connected with her leg, in reality, the blade hadn’t touched her at all.
"Oh, aren’t you being a little aggressive there, dear?" she teased lightly.
’Perfect,’ Lucian thought, his eyes narrowing sharply. ’Keep her distracted.’
’System, purchase the Overdrive skill.’
Ding!
[Skill Purchase Confirmed: Overdrive]
[Cost: 50,000 Fate Points]
[Remaining FP: 7,900]
[Effect: For 3 seconds, the user can perceive multiple potential futures — visualizing the opponent’s next movements in slow motion. Grants perfect prediction of dodge patterns and attack trajectories.]
’This is exactly what I needed...’
A manic grin stretched across Lucian’s face as he deliberately hid both of his hands behind his back. Mana began to rapidly generate in his palms. A faint crackle of electricity sparked and slowly, a violently swirling orb of condensed blue lightning began to form hidden from sight...
His strategy was simple. Once Elira and Sera had drawn all of Myra’s focus, he would open a portal right behind her, activate Overdrive, and slam his lightning orb straight into her back.
As the volatile orb took shape, a dark sneer was already forming on his face. He couldn’t wait to see what Myra’s ever-elegant, smug face would look like when he shoved a high-voltage lightning orb right into her.
In just a few seconds, the orb was fully prepared — crackling hastily, completely eager to be blasted onto someone’s warm skin.
Without wasting a single second, he commanded through their mental link:
"Now, girls...!"
Hearing the signal, Sera and Elira unleashed everything they had. They threw themselves forward with absolute full force, persistently trying to force Myra to keep every ounce of her attention entirely on dodging their attacks.
Myra was still dodging gracefully, without a single hint of exhaustion... though right at that exact moment, a spatial rift tore open directly behind her. Lucian stepped out of it, holding that crackling lightning orb with both hands he thrust forward, and immediately activated his skill.
[Skill Activated: Overdrive]
His eyes instantly turned into creamy white as multiple projections of the immediate future spread across his vision. Yet the moment he saw them, his eyes widened in stunned disbelief. There weren’t just two, three, or four projections... there were an impossible number of them. He quickly realized that no matter what angle he thrust the orb from, there was a 99% chance that dodging it would be absolute child’s play for Myra.
Even so... in such a narrow, enclosed space, if he just swept his arms in a massive, wide arc, it was bound to graze at least some part of her skin!
Gritting his teeth and narrowing his eyes, he fully committed to the strike... swinging the crackling orb in a wide, sweeping arc.
"Now dodge this... you old hag!"
For a split second, Lucian had completely lost his usual calm demeanor.
’It doesn’t matter! No matter where her next projection might be, my lightning orb is in the perfect position to land a hit...’
Sera’s sword was slashing down from the upper left... Elira’s gauntlet-clad fists were raining down in a flurry of punches from the right...
And from behind, an instant-death sphere of highly concentrated lightning... It was truly impossible for even Myra to dodge all these attacks simultaneously.
Realizing this, Myra’s eyes went wide... That split-second reaction was all the assurance Lucian needed. His overpowered master had to move her feet to escape this impossible situation!
And yet, just as quickly, those wide eyes shifted back into that calm, all-knowing gaze... as if her next words were crystal clear:
"Oh, dear... nice approach. Though if you’d prefer something a little more... subtle, I can do that too."
Shwiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiissssssshhhhhhh—
The orb was barely five inches away when her entire body seemed to teleport without moving her feet... at least, that’s what it looked like. In reality, Myra had impossibly bent her spine backward like a limber serpent, keeping her feet firmly planted on the exact same spot while completely shifting her upper body out of the trajectory.
That violently crackling lightning orb had to hit someone.
Lucian’s eyes widened in sheer shock.
’What—?!’
The orb didn’t stop.
It kept traveling forward.
Straight toward Sera and Elira, who were still mid-attack directly in front of Myra.
"—?!"
Both girls’ eyes went wide in absolute horror.
And that orb slammed right into them... striking Sera’s highly conductive metal sword head-on and connecting directly with Elira’s extended punch...
ZHZHZHZHZHZHZHZZZZZ...!!!
"AAAAAAHHHHH—!!!"
"GHHAAAAA—!!!"
The agonizing shock lasted for what felt like an eternity. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
One second.
Two seconds.
Three seconds.
Four seconds.
Five seconds.
Finally, the volatile lightning dissipated.
Both girls collapsed onto the hard stone ground, thick smoke rising from their twitching bodies. Their eyes had rolled back slightly, their limbs spasming uncontrollably in the aftermath of the high-voltage blast.
"Ugh... ghh..." Sera groaned weakly, barely conscious.
Elira just lay there face-down, completely still except for the occasional violent twitch.
Lucian stood completely frozen.
His hands were still extended through the portal and face well, that was a twisted mixture of shock, disbelief, and dawning horror.
’I... I just...’
He had completely deep-fried his own teammates.
Myra slowly straightened her posture, easily snapping her spine back into place while looking toward Lucian and elegantly brushed a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
"My, my~"
She tilted her head, voice dripping with pure, naked amusement.
"How cheeky of you, trying to catch me off guard like that..."
Then she glanced down at the two smoking, faintly twitching girls lying defeated at her feet.
"Though it seems your little plan backfired quite spectacularly, wouldn’t you say?"
