Urban Super Soldier King
Chapter 2004 - 2105: The Full View of the Underground Base
The command room of the underground base was huge, surrounded by screens. This was also Xiang Yu’s first time here; previously Jackson hadn’t opened this place to anyone.
Seeing Xiang Yu come in, Jackson excitedly pulled him to his side, then pointed around and said, "See that? How is it?"
Xiang Yu was shocked by everything in front of him. All the screens around were lit up, and he could clearly see any place in the base, including the surface base. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Of course, because the surface base had been attacked, many areas had turned into black screens.
"Come over here." Jackson pulled Xiang Yu to a seat and pushed him down. "You can issue orders from here. Anywhere inside the underground base can hear you."
In front of Xiang Yu there was a microphone and a display. He tapped the "All" button on the screen.
"You can talk now," Jackson said excitedly, then placed the microphone in front of Xiang Yu.
"Brothers." Xiang Yu directly opened his mouth.
At this moment the City Guard Army, the self-defense force, and everyone else were all inside the underground base. They didn’t know what was happening outside, so everyone was restless and uneasy.
When Xiang Yu’s voice rang out, they all jumped in fright. After confirming there was no danger, they finally listened carefully.
"Everyone, don’t panic. The underground base was carefully designed by our chief designer, Mr. Jackson. It’s very safe..."
Standing to the side, hearing Xiang Yu praise him, Jackson raised his head proudly. "But of course. Anything I design is absolutely safe. You can all rest easy."
Xiang Yu ignored him and continued, "For now, everyone stay put in your respective areas and get some rest, replenish your strength. Our war with the enemy has only just begun..."
Xiang Yu steadied everyone’s emotions, then walked to the large screen and started watching the situation outside.
Outside, the COM troops had gradually entered the base, but to their surprise, there was simply no one in the base.
In the rear, when Darzi heard they had already broken into the base, he was so excited he almost jumped up.
"Good, well done. Lieyun City, Sun City, they’re all mine," Darzi laughed loudly.
At this time someone came over and said, "Commander, I still feel Xiang Yu isn’t that simple. Could they be hiding somewhere?"
"Who do you think Xiang Yu is? He’s just a little punk. What can he do? Before, when Wang Qian was around, she could back him up. Now that no one’s backing him, he’s just a piece of trash." Darzi shouted excitedly.
"Then should we go into Lieyun City now?"
Darzi waved his hand. "We’ve just taken Lieyun City. There are still a lot of variables inside. Let the vanguard clear out all the dangers first. Also, send people to keep an eye on Wolf Fang."
"The Wolf Fang people have already pulled out. They probably won’t come back, right?"
"Hmph, they’re just a pack of wolves, a pack of wolves you can never feed enough. It never hurts to be careful."
Right then, inside the Wolf Fang base, Lin Youyong was quietly sitting on the sofa, with someone in front of him reporting the situation.
"COM has already broken into the base in Lieyun City. Their troops are gradually moving in. Xiang Yu’s people suddenly disappeared—everyone vanished into thin air."
"Disappeared?" Lin Youyong asked in puzzlement.
Just then someone came over and said, "Boss, should we take our troops over while we can? If we let the COM boys get a firm foothold, it’ll be trouble if we try to move in later."
Lin Youyong sat there thinking quietly, then shook his head. "I keep feeling things aren’t that simple. Since Commander Wang Qian values Xiang Yu that much, he must have some skills. If he got wiped out that easily, that’d really disappoint me."
Lin Youyong pondered for a while, then took out his phone and dialed.
"What is it?"
A curt, unfriendly voice came from the other end of the line, with a hint of impatience in it.
"Commander Wang, you seem to have quite an opinion about me. Let me state up front, coming to Xiao Xu wasn’t my idea, it was purely the higher-ups’ arrangement," Lin Youyong said with a smile.
"You know Xiang Yu. Now that COM has already broken through Xiang Yu’s base, his whole unit suddenly vanished..."
Before Lin Youyong finished, Wang Qian cut in sharply, "You’re wrong. I don’t know him at all. If you want to know him, you’ve asked the wrong person. Goodbye."
Wang Qian didn’t give Lin Youyong any chance to speak and hung up directly.
Wang Qian had always regarded Xiang Yu as a good friend and trusted him deeply, but Xiang Yu had betrayed that trust, which made her somewhat hurt.
She had sworn that any news about Xiang Yu she would ignore, but when she heard the coalition was attacking Xiang Yu, she still worried for him.
She paced back and forth, and in the end still picked up her phone and dialed.
"Boss, you need something from me?" A man’s voice came from the other end.
"How’s the battle over there going?" Wang Qian asked.
This man was Wang Qian’s trusted aide left in Xiao Xu.
"Xiang Yu’s base has been taken..." The man reported the situation there to Wang Qian in detail.
Although Wang Qian had sworn to ignore Xiang Yu, when she heard he was in such a state, she still felt worried.
"You said they disappeared? Could they have escaped Lieyun City?" Wang Qian asked.
"I don’t know either. Right now the COM people are searching, but they haven’t found them yet."
"Got it. Keep a close eye on things there. The moment something happens, report to me," Wang Qian said.
After hanging up, Wang Qian held her phone, wanting to call Xiang Yu, but she hesitated, not knowing what to say if the call went through.
Wang Qian put the phone down and sighed, but in the end she still found Xiang Yu’s name and dialed.
She couldn’t deceive her own heart. She knew the reason Xiang Yu lied to them back then must have been for a reason.
Besides, back in Huaxia, if Xiang Yu hadn’t helped, she wouldn’t have escaped.
The call didn’t go through; instead she heard the "phone turned off" message. Wang Qian actually felt a sense of relief.
"Xiang Yu, if you can get through this, I’ll forgive you," Wang Qian murmured.
At that moment, in the underground base’s main command room, Xiang Yu suddenly sneezed.
"Someone’s definitely cursing you," Jackson chuckled.
Xiang Yu shook his head and ignored him. Jackson didn’t understand human relationships; he was just a madman who only knew research and design.
Xiang Yu stood in front of the screens, watching all the images. The COM troops had already entered the surface base and were searching everywhere, but they would never imagine that Xiang Yu and his people were actually down below.
Xiang Yu watched for a while, then walked over to another video feed. Seeing Long Wu lying quietly on the bed, his heart clenched.
On the screen, Tie Zhuzi walked out, and Xi’er was wiping Long Wu’s body.
Xi’er had been feeling very guilty. She hadn’t protected Long Wu, hadn’t fulfilled Xiang Yu’s trust...
