Undead Mage: I Have a Skeleton Clone
Chapter 705 - 466: Summoning [Advanced Corpse Tomb], New Unit [Corrupt Hatred]!
However, Tidamia’s strength was not to be underestimated. Although he was outmatched by Sain, his defense was solid despite his offensive shortcomings.
With his heavy shield raised, and aided by the maneuverability of his Corpse Warhorse, he met Sain’s Butcher Knife with resounding clangs, but the blade rarely found its mark on Tidamia himself. Most of the attacks were blocked by the shield.
In Fang Zhou’s view, the battle between Sain and Tidamia might have seemed monotonous, but it was far more dynamic than the rigid attack styles of the other Undead Lords. After Fang Zhou told them to stop, Sain even mentioned that he hadn’t used his signature move yet.
This immediately piqued Fang Zhou’s interest, and he began to inquire further.
Sain could spread a potent Undead Corrosive Poison in a mist around his body, with a maximum radius of ten meters. While this disease-like fog seemed to have no effect on the Undead, it could weaken all the attributes of any living opponent. In fact, a creature with a weaker constitution or lower disease resistance could be directly poisoned to death.
Fang Zhou was originally prejudiced against the Zombie unit. After all, a Zombie’s Attack Power was basically the same as a Skeleton Warrior’s, yet its speed was exceedingly slow. Despite their strong defense and some unique advancement paths, their sluggishness—among the slowest in the Undead Realm—meant they possessed little intimidating presence.
Now, however, things were different. If he could produce more Advanced Zombies like Sain, they would undoubtedly prove invaluable in future battles.
Acting on the thought, Fang Zhou once again activated the synthesis Array of the Advanced Corpse Tomb, feeding it a vast assortment of Corpse resources. After emptying his entire stockpile, he finally synthesized the Zombie unit he desired: [Rotting Hatred].
This was a Bronze Tier Undead Creature, a variant of the Plague Zombie. By appearance, it was a flesh-stitched monster with a bizarre and grotesque form. Its flesh was highly toxic and corrosive, and its body possessed immense strength coupled with a respectable movement speed. When running at full tilt, it resembled a speeding truck, flattening everything in its path.
Most critically, as its name suggested, the Rotting Hatred could emit a special aura and undead fluctuations that provoked intense hostility in its targets, compelling them to destroy it on sight. This served as a taunt, drawing enemy fire and creating an opening for allied units to attack.
Furthermore, as a meat-shield unit, the Rotting Hatred possessed a special flesh structure. A portion of the damage it received was absorbed and converted into stored energy, which enhanced its damage resistance and muscle strength. Once this stored energy reached its limit, the Rotting Hatred would self-destruct. It would become a living flesh bomb, unleashing a devastating physical shockwave and contaminating the area with its corrosive, toxic flesh.
Just as its name implied, this Undead Creature’s traits were designed to make its opponents feel disgusted and overwhelmed, making it an excellent cannon fodder unit. Of course, as a brand-new Undead Creature, the Rotting Hatred was currently just a prototype that required further enhancement and refinement in Fang Zhou’s future research.
Fang Zhou clapped his hands, gazing at the new Undead Creation before him, whose form was remarkably similar to Sain’s. It stood just over three meters tall, its features blurred and ugly, its body bloated. Its surface was covered in foul, pustulent blood and menacing Bone Spines, making the Undead Monster nauseating to behold.
The Corrupt Hatred didn’t just look revolting; it was an Undead Monster that radiated intensely negative emotions. Its hideous, menacing face displayed a naked, undisguised malice.
However, Fang Zhou was unfazed. He sent a command directly to the Corrupt Hatred through the Soul Link. The monster’s hideous, cloudy, singular eye immediately fixated on Fang Zhou. Its small, giant-like body bowed before him, each breath carrying a powerful stench.
ROAR—
It let out an earth-shattering roar, a jarring, cacophonous sound that carried a Mind Control effect capable of stirring the most violent emotions within a person’s soul. As its creator, Fang Zhou’s Soul Fire was immensely powerful, leaving him naturally unaffected. But he had no intention of indulging it. He swung his Corpse Long Spear directly at the creature.
The terrifying force behind the spear pierced straight through the abominable flesh monster’s chest.
The Corrupt Hatred’s Life Energy was remarkably tenacious; its combat effectiveness remained undiminished despite having its chest run through. Its Talent allowed it to absorb a portion of the physical damage and convert it into Flesh Energy, causing its menacing muscles to swell as if injected with water. Yet, because of the Soul Link, this vicious-looking Corrupt Hatred was like a docile puppy before Fang Zhou, capable only of fawning submission.
Fang Zhou landed a few more casual pokes, inflicting significant damage on the Corrupt Hatred and causing its fearsome muscles to swell even further, bringing it to the very brink of explosion.
Perceiving the vast, latent energy within the Corrupt Hatred through his Soul Fire, Fang Zhou nodded with deep satisfaction. This was just the initial model, yet its various Talent Abilities and energy capacity were already quite impressive.
Fang Zhou scratched his chin. He randomly pointed toward an open space and ordered the muscle-quivering Corrupt Hatred to self-destruct, wanting to see the explosion’s true power.
BOOM! With a violent detonation, the loyal Corrupt Hatred exploded into a mass of mangled flesh without complaint. The piles of corpses and bones within a ten-meter radius were pulverized into dust, creating a small mushroom cloud. In terms of sheer power, it was countless times stronger than the Black Iron Tier Corpse Explosion Skill cast by Fang Zhou himself.
Objectively speaking, if a Corpse Knight of the same tier were to battle a Corrupt Hatred, the outcome would likely be mutual destruction. The Corrupt Hatred’s attack and movement speed were certainly no match for a Corpse Knight. However, with its far superior defense and damage conversion ability, a Corpse Knight would have to engage in close-quarters combat, leveraging its mount’s charge advantage, to inflict any effective damage.
Once the damage stored within the Corrupt Hatred reached a certain threshold, it would explode thunderously. Even if the Corpse Knight anticipated the blast, the speed of its Corpse Warhorse would be insufficient to escape the explosion’s radius. At best, it would be a trade; at worst, total annihilation for both.
The Soul Fire in Fang Zhou’s eyes blazed brightly as several improvement plans flashed through his mind. He enthusiastically resumed his research into the functions of the Advanced Corpse Tomb.
Aside from the remarkably successful new meat-shield unit, the Rotting Hatred, Fang Zhou’s next project was to develop a mainline unit with a balance of offense and defense. His preliminary idea was to advance his Black Iron Tier Corpse Warriors along a well-established enhancement path to become Bronze Tier Corpse Samurai.
Compared to the Corpse Knight, which had demanding resource requirements and a difficult advancement path, the threshold for a Corpse Samurai was considerably lower, though its combat prowess was correspondingly weaker. As long as he could acquire enough Corpse Essence, he could, within the limits of his Authority over Corpses, advance all of his Corpse Warriors to become Bronze Tier Corpse Samurai, significantly bolstering his forces.
However, this was clearly a research project that would demand a tremendous investment of energy and resources. Fang Zhou was not in a hurry.
In the days that followed, Fang Zhou took his Summoned Creatures to the Fierce Beast Mountain Range and began hunting Fierce Beasts on a massive scale. After consuming the Black Iron Tier Undead Mage Potential Potion in the Forest of Nature—an elixir crafted from the Bone-Eroding Blood Spring and the Breath of Decay—Fang Zhou’s aptitude made breaking through the Black Iron bottleneck effortless. Advancing to the Bronze Tier was now simply a matter of attribute accumulation.
With the daily attribute feedback from his Corpse Clones, his Spirit Attribute was growing far faster than he had previously anticipated. Before long, he would ascend to become a Bronze Lower Tier Undead Mage at a truly astonishing pace.
