Undead Mage: I Have a Skeleton Clone
Chapter 704 - 466: Summoning [Advanced Corpse Tomb], New Unit [Corrupt Hatred]!
While the Corpse Knight served as his decisive trump card and assault unit, Fang Zhou still needed to create one or more types of Undead Creatures to act as the main force of his army. This was also a necessary preparation to ensure he would have a powerful sequence of Summoned Creatures, ready for combat, immediately after his own advancement to the Bronze Tier.
As far as Fang Zhou knew, the Bronze Tier Ghost he so desired was still a distant and elusive goal. The focus of his upcoming research would likely still need to be on the broader Zombie family. He could either follow the design path of the Corpse Warriors, continuing to build upon them with resources from the Skeleton Series and Flesh and Blood Series, or he could draw from the characteristics of the Zombie race, developing specialized units from their various advanced forms that focused on things like plague, blood, Iron Armor, or even explosions.
For a long time, Fang Zhou had given this serious thought. According to his previously superficial understanding, Zombies were the typical trash of the Undead Realm. Aside from serving as meat shields, they were basically useless. However, in the Wasteland of Strife, Fang Zhou had seen all kinds of bizarre, advanced Zombie types.
In the end, Fang Zhou decided to experiment with a new idea. He issued the order to construct the [Advanced Corpse Tomb], an upgraded version of the Corpse Pit.
With a large investment of Corpse Essence and Soul Power, a plot of land next to the Corpse Pit suddenly began to stir and loosen. A low, desolate graveyard emerged. From the outside, it looked like the perfect filming location for a ghost movie. Similar to other Unit Buildings, there was an altar-like structure at the graveyard’s exit. Based on past experience, synthesizing High-level Zombies simply required tossing in a considerable amount of resources.
Once the Advanced Corpse Tomb was built, an excited Fang Zhou signaled Tidamia to push the prepared Zombie offerings inside. The moment these offerings—or synthesis materials—were thrown in, the ground of the entire Advanced Corpse Tomb began to shake violently from below. Before long, humanoid monsters with bluish-gray skin crawled out of the soil and limped toward Fang Zhou.
The most eye-catching of them all was the Zombie leading the group.
This Zombie was very special. He was roughly three meters tall with a waist circumference nearing two and a half meters, a truly frightening, bloated mass of flesh. In his right hand, he tightly gripped a Butcher Knife that was three feet long, with a wide blade and a thick spine. The blade bore black stains that resembled dried blood. In addition, several black Chains were wound around his body, biting deep into his bulky flesh. A rusty iron hook was attached to the end of one chain.
After crawling out of the Advanced Corpse Tomb, this extraordinary Giant Zombie ignored the dirt caked on his body and charged straight toward Fang Zhou.
"My Lord, your loyal servant reports to you!"
Upon hearing the raspy yet flattering voice, Fang Zhou secretly felt relieved. It seems the first Summoning from the Advanced Corpse Tomb brought me a pleasant surprise, producing a highly intelligent Mutated Zombie. Even with Fang Zhou’s power and influence, finding and enslaving a mutated Undead Creature was an opportunity that came by chance, not by searching.
"Alright..." Fang Zhou grinned. "Since you’re so clever, I’ll call you Sain."
Fang Zhou had previously bestowed the name Sain upon a mutated Tower Shield Skeleton Warrior. However, after that warrior advanced to become a Bronze Tier Corpse Knight, the name no longer seemed to fit. It was only fitting to now transfer the name to this more suitable Mutated Zombie.
As my subordinate, the smarter and stronger Sain is, the better. No one would turn down powerful subordinates, especially ones who would never betray you.
"Sain, tell me about your abilities."
"At your command, my Lord!" Sain replied earnestly. "I have the ability to directly command all Zombie units. That’s not just the Zombie units summoned from this Corpse Pit or the Advanced Corpse Tomb. I can also command any other Zombie units you subjugate.
"Additionally, my own combat prowess is quite strong. My subordinates may be weak, but they are no reflection of my true strength. I will do my utmost to ensure that you are never harmed by anyone."
Sain’s bold words, accompanied by his honest expression, indeed seemed credible. However, for Fang Zhou, seeing was believing. He thought for a moment and summoned Tidamia.
"You called for me, my Lord!"
"Tidamia," Fang Zhou nodded, "spar with Sain. I want to see your strength."
"Yes, my Lord." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"I understand your command, my Lord."
And with that, the Corpse Knight and the Giant Zombie—two Bronze Undead—began to clash.
Fang Zhou sat astride his Yellow Springs Nightmare, calmly watching the duel between Sain and Tidamia unfold. I really have to admit, Sain’s prowess is indeed above Tidamia’s, especially with those swift movements. Despite his massive size, his movements showed no sign of sluggishness; he was as nimble as an oversized gorilla! The chains wound around Sain’s body were especially effective. Whenever Tidamia tried to create distance, with a WHIR of his chain, Sain would hook him and drag him back, leaving Tidamia no chance to catch his breath.
