Chapter 24: Custom Training Manuals

Adrian converted 10,000 more mana into iron ingots before sending them all with Viscount Alexander’s messenger.

He then looked at the huge bags that were filled with coins. Unlike Baron Kaldwin, Alexander had sent him money in bronze coins instead and this was due to Adrian’s request.

Not wanting to count so many coins by himself, he sent the bags directly into his dungeon using dungeon link and asked the system for an answer.

[Bronze Coins: 400,000]

’Good. Now I can buy a single ingot without having to worry about not having bronze coins.’ he thought.

Most parties only made two ingots per day and considering the selling price, Adrian would need to give them 80 bronze, not 1 silver.

"Once these bronze coins circulate into the economy, I can buy with silver and they can give me 20 bronze along with the ingots to balance the trade out. I’ll probably need to get a few more bronze coins though." he thought as he brought the large bags of coins back into his room.

With this done, he moved onto his next goal.

He picked up the Royal Knight’s Training Manual, True Knight’s Training Manual and three more knight training manuals that he had found in the treasury. These three were of a lower grade but he wished to test something.

He sent them all into his dungeon.

’System, can you use these manuals as a base and create a few more versions that are of the mid grade or higher?’

[Affirmative. Would you like to use the dungeon’s resources to proceed with the action?]

’How much would I need to pay?’

[Mid-Tier Manual: 50 mana]

[Top-Tier Manual: 1000 mana]

Adrian stared at the screen for a few seconds before frowning, ’Wait, how would you grade the manuals I provided?’

[Royal Knight’s Training Manual: Low Grade Mid-Tier]

[True Knight’s Training Manual: High Grade Mid-Tier]

[Oresfall Knight’s Training Manual: Fake]

[Starlight Knight’s Training Manual: Fake]

[Calm Knight’s Training Manual: Fake]

’Of course... leaving the fake shit for me. Eh fuck it, I have two mid tier manuals so it’s not that bad.’ he thought but it didn’t change that fact that this annoyed him.

He kicked the foot of his bed and clicked his tongue before going back to his system screen.

’Give me one mid tier and one top tier manual. Is it possible to produce a High Grade Mid-Tier and a High Grade Top-Tier manuals?’

[High Grade Mid-Tier Manual: 200 mana]

[Unable to produce a High Grade Top-Tier Manual due to insufficient base material to work on.]

’Okay what’s the limit?’

[Low grade Top-Tier: 1000 mana]

Adrian let out a sigh, but as he thought about it, he couldn’t help but feel better about it.

Claire had said that her True Knight’s Training Manual much better than the one her father had and the system has put it in High Grade Mid-Tier.

If a minor grade change was said to be "much better", he wondered how much better a Top-Tier training manual would be.

Especially when he considered the sudden hike in price between the two tiers.

’Okay, do it. Give me one Top-Tier and one High Grade Mid-Tier manual.’

[Consuming 1200 mana. Creating Knight Training Manuals.]

[Congratulations, you have received an Unnamed Low Grade Top-Tier Manual]

[Congratulations, you have received an Unnamed High Grade Mid-Tier Manual]

’Now... how much to make a Mid Grade Low-Tier manual?’ he asked the system but it’s response surprised him.

[Grades are only classified into two, which is the low and high grade. Tiers have three, which is the top, mid and low tiers. Due to this, I am unable to fulfill your request.]

’Alright how much for Low and High Grade Low-Tier Manual?’

[Low Grade Low-Tier Manual: 5 Mana]

[High Grade Low-Tier Manual: 10 Mana]

Adrian then got himself a high grade low-tier manual too.

Once all of this was done, he went through the three different manuals and noticed a clear difference.

A low tier manual created knights that damage their own bodies to gain strength. Most of them fed on a mix of mana and life force which was also called vitality in this world. A knight that started with a low tier manual would never be able to move to a mid tier or a high tier manual. In a way, it was a barrier to stop them from growing further.

Just in case, Adrian got the system to make him a few more of these low tier manuals and everyone of them had this as a common theme.

A mid tier manual focused on one specific thing and had a record of a technique for the knight to use. For example, the Royal knight’s training manual taught an offensive fighting style. These knights could use mana to increase their strength in short bursts and it also had a skill called the Royal Slash, which was basically a last resort move.

Claire’s True Knight’s manual was more of a defensive one. It boosted stamina, and defense at a similar ratio and the skill was more of a defensive one too. They could boost their body’s healing by if they focused on their wounds and circulated their mana infused blood to it.

The manuals that Adrian received were different from True and Royal knight’s manuals. They didn’t have a name yet, so he’d have to give them a name himself.

The High Grade Mid-Tier manual was boosted the user’s defense and stamina more than attack but attack would also be significantly increased. The passive skill increased the reaction speed of the knights as long as they circulated mana in their bodies, which would always be happening as long as they’re in a fighting state. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

"Compared to True Knight’s training manual, those who train using this will also be able to increase their mana reserves slightly more. It’s better in a way I guess, if the knights can dodge attacks using their reaction speed, then they won’t need to heal." he muttered and nodded to himself as he moved to the main dish of the night.
