THE GOD EATER
Chapter 501: Three Plans.
Loki could sense the will of the world’s desperation for a protector. It was clear that the world wanted someone that could defeat and hopefully kill him.
But what he sensed made him chuckle and say inwardly, "Is it that it doesn’t notice that the old Hammock is dead, or is it that it sensed this but doesn’t care, or that it sensed it and cares, but it can’t change the protocol that it put in place to select the next world king?"
Hammock now possesses three portions of world power, so he has now met the requirement to become the world king. So being chosen to become the wield king shouldn’t have been an unexpected development if not for the fact that the current Hammock is just a golem.
However, Loki didn’t care for whatever plan the will of the world was up to. After all, Hammock is now his puppet.
He stood to the side with his arms folded across his chest as he watched Hammock ascend. He was keeping his presence low, but there was no way his presence could be hidden.
In this small world, he was a literal colossus. In fact, the space of this world didn’t want him here and was rejecting him. But his existence refused to budge. He was like a mountain, and the resistance of the world was like the waters of a lake washing against him.
The collision between his power and the power of the world forced him to use his Cave Heaven to resist. Because he had used the power of his Cave Heaven to fight back, his figure was forced to appear as a giant in this small world.
The will of the world seemed to be trying to stop him from interrupting Hammock’s ascension. It didn’t seem to know that both it and Loki were on the same page regarding Hammock’s ascension.
As Hammock’s master, Loki felt the changes that the ascension was making to Hammock. He sensed clearly that Hammock’s body was changing into a divine body. This meant that Hammock would be able to traverse the extradimensions soon.
This made Loki shrug and say, "Not that I care. As long as he can create divine-grade ant drones for me, I will be satisfied."
His goal for letting Hammock become a world king is so that he can have a factory that can produce divine-grade mechanical ant drones for him. If this plan doesn’t work, he would assimilate the world and use it to expand the size of his Cave Heaven.
The plan to assimilate the world is his second plan. He came up with it after hearing about the way divine beings increase the size of their Cave Heaven.
He is sure that this second plan will work since his Cave Heaven is bigger than this world. But even if it doesn’t work, he still has a third plan.
The third plan is to eat the world completely. This is the second plan he had before he heard that he could assimilate this world. Now it is his third plan, and he is sure that it will work since the Devour Ability has yet to disappoint him.
As for using the heart of this world to create a new Divine Position for his other Divine Metacs, he doesn’t plan to do that. This is because there is nothing to gain from doing so.
Since Fenrir has advanced to rank 6, he doesn’t need to get a Divine Position for his other Divine Metacs to use them at their full power. It is just like how he only needed to advance one pathway to advance the other pathways when he was a mortal.
So he doesn’t need a Divine Position for his other Divine Metacs. But if, for some reason, he still goes ahead to get a Divine Position for them, the only thing that he will get is exposing the fact that he has other Divine Metacs on hand.
Hammock already said that he needed to be at rank 7 to defend possessing two Divine Metacs, and he needed to be at rank 8 to own three Divine Metacs without being besieged by rank 7 divine beings who only have one Divine Metac or rank 8 divine beings who only have two Divine Metacs.
With this kind of knowledge on hand, it is not far-fetched that there will be many people who would want to tear him apart for having six Divine Metacs. Even a Dao Lord might be alarmed by a single divine being possessing this many Divine Metacs when a pathway usually possesses a maximum of 20 Divine Metacs.
He is somewhat confident that he can avoid exposing his identity by using the Nanite Metac to change how he looks. By looking like someone else, it should be difficult to tell that he is the current Monarch Gold Body.
But if changing his physical appearance isn’t enough to protect his identity and he is exposed for having many Divine Metacs, which all belong to different pathways, then he is sure that Dao Lords would like to have a chat with him about how he has managed to achieve something like this.
And to top things off, even if he succeeds in getting Divine Positions for all of his six Divine Metacs without any issue and without alarming anyone, there is the matter of the life-leech to deal with.
Right now, he only needs to pay 100 years of lifespan every ten years. But if he gets five more Divine Positions, he will need to lose 600 years of lifespan every ten years. That’s 6,000 years of lifespan every 100 years.
With all of these possible problems to look out for, it just isn’t worth it for him to get another Divine Position. He thought about how he only had a little over 6,000 years of lifespan now and had to take pit a third of a small world to get it. So he decided that it would be a waste to hand over so much lifespan to the sects just like that for something he doesn’t need.
